Dude says all the right things for sure. https://www.moontowersoccer.com/bonus-interview-with-nico-estevez-austin-fcs-new-head-coach/

I'm cautiously pessimistic and will hopefully be wrong. This Steve Davis piece on Estevez is excellent. https://texasxi.substack.com/p/what-happened-with-nico-estevez-and

I kinda love how much they're leaning into him being not Josh Wolff. Mentioned bilingual in the second sentence of the press release, doing a meet & greet with the fans at the stadium this afternoon. Being super accommodating with the media. Hopefully this signifies a real change and isn't just window dressing.

I do highly recommend the Verde Melt at Turnstile if you're looking for a burger. MLS Salary Dump today. Rodo getting some deals on his players.

Was sitting right behind Goodman and caught the stray death stare when the Owen question came up.

I had the one about what Rodo was expecting from the players in the final match given they have an interim coach and nothing to really play for. It was almost at the end.

NGL, Rodo kinda scares me. But he is super open and gave us an hour to ask questions.

What a day. Headed to the presser tomorrow afternoon to get the full scoop. Check out Moontower Soccer Tuesday for that and our interview with Adrian Healey, which obviously now dated by the fact that the club had the courage to do a thing he was afraid they wouldn't do.

Same. That dude is a real find. There’s been at least one other game where he just decided to join the attack.

The WolffOut banner chat will always make me think of ShaggyBevo. I just can't quit this team. Gonna dip out on Texas/Mississippi State to make sure we catch the whole Austin FC match on Saturday. This will be our last one since the Colorado match (which likely won't matter) seems like it's going to conflict with Texas/Georgia. It's also super dumb that Decision Day comes after the international break. Don't know how the geniuses at MLS couldn't create a schedule that ends the regular season before the break and then has the playoffs start after.

Yeah man. I had to rewind it and double check that he actually said my name.

I think we need 11 pts from 8 games to be safe. Definitely much more plausible than it would have been without the victory in Nashville.

Lineup and style of play are working = Josh having to overthink it

Because the dumb seeding system is based completely on 2023 results. The only way we get a home match is if we play LA Galaxy (who were worse than us last year but ahead of us this year) or one of the Mexican clubs.

It’s another great day to be #WolffOut. Banner also reminded me of the good old days at Shaggy.

    It’s this bad right now.

Totally. I think we have 7 more games before Charlotte. Lotta opportunity to drop points.

Players can’t be registered until the transfer window officially opens on July 18. So, the earliest either Bukari or Desler can play (assuming all the paperwork gets done) is the July 20 match be Charlotte. That’s the last match before Leagues Cup.

Clubs can buy out two contracts per year (up from one in previous years). Everything else is guaranteed.

Totally forgot about watching LAFC win the 2019 supporters shield at The Banc vs Houston. Make that #3. Fun fact is that it had the same architect as Q2 who was able to apply everything they learned about designing the stadium to make a better version in Austin. Stadium-wise, Seattle, KC and Cincinnati are my top 3 places I want to visit. This ignores the fact that Montreal, Vancouver and NYC are more fun cities (along with others).

We had a hot dog and a "street taco" and then picked up Whataburger on the way home.

Here's my MLS Stadium list from games I've attended. 1) Austin 2) Minnesota United 3) Atlanta United 4) Portland 5) Nashville <HUGE DROPOFF> 6) FC Dallas 7) Houston Dynamo 8 Colorado Rapids (although it was the most fun since it was our first win)

Agree that it's a decentish experience. Maybe we weren't looking the right place, but the food options seemed super generic. Appreciate what they're trying to do at Q2. I'm also so tired of getting shittalked by Frisco fans as we fall behind yet again. Felt like we bought pretty good energy to the Toyota Truck Month end of the stadium.

I think we are also going to be there. Don’t know that I’ve ever seen a positive result in Frisco.

It was a 4-3-3 just like (almost) always. Never trust the formation listing from any website. Or even Apple TV.
