  1. Years ago we lived on a street with only 2 houses. I left the trashcan at the curb one Friday night and when I went to pull it to the house the next morning it was FULL of beer bottles and pizza boxes. It pissed me off so bad I put on a pair of shoulder length work gloves my company sold and dug through the trash until I found a flier with an address on it. I looked them up, called them and a kid answered. I told him I didn't appreciate him filling my trashcan and he hung up. I called him back and he stupidly answered the phone. I told him if he hung up again I would call Monday morning when his parents got back and tell them about the party they had while they were away. I was making stuff up but I must have been right, because he didn't hang up. Then I said if he came and emptied the trash can I'd let it slide. 30 mins later there were 4 16 yo kids out front picking up bottles from my trashcan.

  3. I've got a set of 1938 encyclopedia's in the attic. Germany's an economic success but some are having doubts about that Hitler fellow.
  4. He didn't die but he's going to need a couple new holes patched up. And I'm with you

  7. I've got 3 CZ's. I love my 75B. And my CZ 83 is a great carry gun. .380 I'ts good with the right ammo and it holds 14 rounds.
  8. My mother in law has done the exact same thing. He died 5 years ago but if you open his closet it looks exactly like it did then. My mom died when I was 14 in 1973. I still have her purse that we brought home form the hospital. All the content is exactly like it was when we brought it home, money included. My dad died 8 years later and I have the contents of his desk, including his scratch/ordering pads and even paper clips. I can't throw any of it away. My kids will have to do it after I'm gone.
  9. One thing olds do is laugh at the guys who make fun of us olds. We did the same thing when we were young. Then we became olds and do the same stuff we made fun of when we were young.
  10. Are you my son because this sounds like my wife.
  11. I told my kids I'm randomly hiding $100 bills in old books and boxes of junk. This will make up for them leaving all their stuff behind when they moved out and expecting me to store it for them.
  12. Was this what Tyson was trying to do to Holyfield, but decided to nibble on his ear instead? https://www.instagram.com/p/CusJUQvRIxH/
  13. I used to sell machine tooling and saw this coming years ago. Programmers write the functions, machinist just gage and change the tooling. I knew a couple of machinist who were trained by the navy in the 60's. They had to know how to make every part on the ship, either by blueprint or just measuring with a micrometer. Often on machines that were already 50 years old. They were true craftsmen. I ran into this problem last time I bought a Marlin 336. The 2nd shell always got hung up and failed to extract. I sent it in for repairs and it did the same thing when I got it back. QC was terrible. I traded it for a CZ and decided to never by a new Marlin product again.

    Getting old sucks

Brat, my dad was in the Aleutian campaign after he came out of First Special Service Forces training. Was your dad FSSF?
  15. My kids bought me an LP of an old John Philipa Souza recordings. Nothing better for the 4th than Stars and Stripes Forever played by his band, directed by JPS.
  16. Hiked to the South Rim, Climbed Emory peak, forged the Rio Grande into Santa Elena canyon, took the 25 cent ferry to Boquillas Mexico, drank Lone Star in the old brewery, took too many trips measured by six packs instead of miles, Palo Duro canyon, White Elephant Saloon (every Wednesday for 2 years), Big Texan Steakhouse, Cadillac Ranch, 2 Texas/OU weekends before they arrested everyone for anything (Shout out to Commerce Street Elvis "We don't need the Dallas Police"), South Padre Spring break, Matramoros big liquor store and Matamoros Boys town and survived too many dives and biker bars to be alive.
  17. I refuse to buy anything from Amazon. If something I want is on sale through one of their partners, I'll search for the partners website and order direct from them.

    Getting old sucks

Follow up in 6 weeks. If it's not better we do an MRI and go from there.
  19. I'll tell her it's for her sister. She'll probably deliver it to her.
  20. Well, hell, faith in humanity is somewhat restored. Sent another note to her saying she could pay cash or we can run a CC. She called me at work and said she was coming right over. Walked in and handed me the cash difference. The funeral director had told me the two sisters were fighting all week over the service and he wasn't going to get between them. At the funeral their families even sat on opposite sides of the church. Her story was that her sister was in charge of payments. She asked me if I thought I might have lost it. I told her I knew it was not there. She said here sister had made some statements supporting the fact that she short paid on purpose and believed me. Either way, I got my money and it will be placed in the buy me a (used) corvette against my wife's wishes, retirement fund.

Tendonitis or bursitis. Cortisone shot for the win. A little arthritis and minor bone spurs but no surgery for a while.
