  1. Guys on campus should 100% be the priority. But if we take an OL George is a good option. Better than what we were looking at last year.
  2. Also, on Damieon George, he only played in 2 games this year, but he played in 12 games last year including 3 starts. And FWIW PFF graded him at a 65.0 in 268 snaps last year and a 70.2 in 20 snaps this year. Our starters this year were 68.4 - 54.4 - 63.4 - 51.7 - 68.8. George was not thought of well on this recruiting board during that cycle, but I think he would be a good addition. I wouldn't do anything that would rock the boat with our guys on campus though.
  3. Plus, the mustard got used for a Pluckers sauce. It's actually pretty good. Bijan Mustardson can continue after Bijan graduates; they'll just need an updated contract The lambo is on a lease. I don't believe they paid Bijan anything, just gave him a lambo to drive. The contract will end as soon as Bijan stops being part of the football team at UT. Then lambo can decide to renew it or not with him. I'm hoping they'll continue giving a couple to UT football players. They already did it with JWhitt so seems they might be prepped for that route
  4. Thanks y'all for the great work you put in. I've been impressed by the foresight every step of the way. Timing has been impeccable First crowdsourced NIL deal for a position group First 501c3 for a position of need, announced right before signing day Other Texas collectives form in time for the portal and baseball season And now that sustainable operations and cooperation with the AD are more important than the public splash, all collectives merge I think the casual fan might be underwhelmed or disappointed that there's no specific mission or $ amount, but this is a big deal. No need to continue giving other schools a target and blueprint. By the way, there's a legitimate case to be made that we're .500 or below and our future is dark without HWH. If Banks doesn't come, we lose our best OL this year and have Karic or Jones at LT. Not only does that degrade the starting OL, it also takes away the jumbo package with Karic at TE that has been so successful this year. And without this OL class, how does our pitch to Arch, Johntay, Baxter, etc. change? It certainly makes our prospects for next season when we lose Bijan and Ro much worse. Sark needs to host y'all for an OV weekend visit to his house and VY steakhouse or something. Also, you know the aggy tears have been flowing when LHF makes you think LonghornFrenzy first.
  5. Lol, yes, you're correct that those excuses didn't affect the competition, because the competition didn't have to face them. OSU and KSU were playing at home. Of course they weren't affected by away crowds. We played a top 5 team at home 8 weeks ago and for the conference title four years ago. How are those generational opportunities?
  6. Card had the deep one to X that bounced off a WVU defender's hand. Also X had the throw to Sanders lol A) There's no benefit to starting Card. Sark opens up the playbook a lot more with Quinn, though he babied him last week. This shouldn't be a discussion unless Quinn is really struggling B) Quinn had to face at least two of the following three factors against ISU/OSU/KSU: really good defenses, away crowds, high winds. None of this come into play this week C) Opportunities like this are generationally rare? Lol no, this is our biggest game in three years, but let's not get carried away here. This is a big game only because it's a step we need to make to get to even bigger games
  7. Sorry if either of these are old news. From OB. Jelani McDonald is going to come on an unofficial this weekend. He'll OV December 16th and decide after that. TCU will probably get an OV too. Deal's playoff game got rescheduled to Friday so he'll OV this weekend.
  8. The recruiters listed on 247 are often not accurate. Pretty sure Bo Davis is doing the heavy lifting in that one.
  9. omg I mixed up the recruiting cycle and calendar year this is possibly the most aggy thing I've ever done corrected version here
  10. I usually don't think you should mess with a classic, but I felt this season called for an update.
  11. Banks + Majors got another one of their DBs on this play too
  12. they really should have gone with mono if they wanted this to be believable after the first week although a mono outbreak in a football team would raise questions
  13. Ketch had this to say on Thursday
  14. As far as I can tell with some quick googling, the largest buyout ever paid to fire a coach was 21.5MM to Gus Malzahn. I assume A&M will be willing to at least triple that (because of course they will), but they'll still have to wait until after the 2024 season when Jimbo's remaining salary drops to 67.5MM.
  15. "Works in a science field" is vague but if you have experience with psychometrics you'll know that every instrument is flawed. Something like QB skill is going to be impossible to grade quantitatively. QB rating, QBR, PFF, etc. are all just data points. Raw stats generally being the worst of them
  16. Bruh only like one third of prospects work out and he'll have to do a lot better than that to be an upgrade, let's not go discounting JWhitt
  17. But the boundary corner has less ground to cover, they can use the sideline as help, WRs on that side won't have the full route tree to run, etc. Plus offenses are more likely to line up with multiple receivers on the field side rather than the boundary side. Help should go on the field side. It's more realistic to expect someone to be a shutdown corner on the boundary.
  18. I know that's what it's supposed to do, but it's still only a statistical modifer for a base stat. RBs that break more tackles than normal or that break them further back will still impact line yards disproportionally
  19. For those that just want the stats. Sorry that the header doesn't line up. I added alternating boldness in the hopes that'll help with readability. A&M included just because they're one line below us. Offense Avg. Line Yards Rk Std. Downs Line Yards Rk Pass. Downs Line Yards Rk Opp. Rate Rk Power Success Rate Rk Stuff Rate Rk Sack Rate Rk Std. Downs Sack Rate Rk Pass. Downs Sack Rate Rk Texas 2.73 59 2.72 51 3.11 44 51.8% 25 66.7% 79 15.2% 32 3.3% 22 3.5% 46 6.1% 46 Texas A&M 2.64 79 2.57 83 3.10 45 51.4% 31 66.7% 79 19.4% 94 8.3% 108 9.1% 121 5.8% 41 I think the backs are still carrying the line's water. Our stuff rate is 15% but we are definitely getting hit in the backfield on more than 15% of carries (though that's improving).
  20. Models favor stats that are indicators of success over a large number of snaps. Success rate, for example, is a stat that is relevant for every snap of every game. Compare that to something like 3rd and long % allowed on defense or 4th down % allowed on defense - those might only be relevant for a couple of plays in any given game so the predictive value is seen as much lower. So these models take in a bunch of different stats and give more weight to the ones that are seen as being more important over lots of snaps, then they simulate a game like 1000 times to generate a prediction. So while we freak out because allowing Dekkers to convert a bunch of third and longs is horrible and almost cost us the game, the computers might have only had that happening in 80 out of 1000 simulations, and we still won. So as long as we keep having good results on most plays, they're going to keep liking us. We're #13 in offensive success rate and #18 in defensive success rate (not sure if those numbers include ISU). I think tOSU, Michigan, UGA, Syracuse, and Minnesota are the only teams above us in both stats.
  21. 1st +-1: Bijan 3rd +-1: Roschon 4th +-1: Ojomo, Sweat, Coburn 5th +-1: Jamison, 6th +-1: Overshown, Cook 7th +-1: Jones, JWhitt UDFA: Keilan
