  1. Bucknuts one week ago: "Day said last Monday that he would 'be surprised' if any other coaches left the program. 'I think we're in pretty good shape, pretty solid. I've not heard of anything otherwise.'" https://247sports.com/college/ohio-state/Article/Ohio-State-Buckeyes-football-coaching-changes-Ryan-Day-Jeff-Hafley-Mike-Yurcich-Corey-Dennis-141006352/ But yeah, sure, I'm sure that Day spent the week before the CFP thinking about staff changes and telling Yurcich to look elsewhere.
  2. "Had Texas taken care of business this year, X would probably be committed already" is going to be infuriating to read over and over again for the next 6 months
  3. I assume this is what the TFB article was about
  4. Now that Jordan has flipped do y'all think we have a chance with Evans as our RB2?
  5. I was wondering if Watson Sr. was involved in our late interest in Georgia guys (Gibbs, Battle, I think there was another CB that signed with someone else yesterday). It would make sense if the staff is looking for new targets.
  6. He's told the story multiple times before. Just never included the double bird when telling it publicly. https://www.si.com/college/texas/football/texas-football-tom-herman-talks-red-river-rivalry/
  7. Give me Ossai at WDE if he can handle another 10-20 pounds. Juwan would probably be good at that role though.
  8. Well, we've had 6 decommits since the midpoint of the season. More than a quarter of the class. That's really bad. Granted, we've recruited well enough the two previous cycles that we don't need this one to be successful in 2020 and 2021, if we have a great class next year. That 'if' is the reason everyone is freaking out. Win the conference and we're off to the races, but that isn't looking likely. Herman has shown no capacity for self-evaluation. Without the changes we need, we win 7-9 next year and waste an outrageously talented 2021 recruiting class in Texas. I don't think I've seen you on the recruiting board, but it's a mistake to be so casual about recruiting losses. College football is an arms race. The elite prospects we lose next year will go to LSU, OU, Baylor, etc. and bite us in the ass later. And the guys from the 18 and 19 classes leave us. That's how you get stuck in mediocrity. Even just looking at the 6 guys we lost this cycle, statistically, would have turned out to be something like 1 star, 1 solid starter, and a couple solid rotation guys. Some of them were unavoidable, but Johnston wasn't. Herman just needed to make a hire in two weeks and we probably hang on. Instead, we're literally at square one for our offensive staff, 16 days later, except now the pool of available coaches has shrunk significantly because every other school has approached their vacancies with the sense of urgency that should be expected.
  9. There are so many great options for the WR coach too. It's going to be near impossible for Herman to fuck it up. But we're waiting so long. JFC Tom.
  10. Already hired at Auburn
  11. IT is also saying Harrell is unlikely
  12. Agreed. This is a case where the stats lie. Our offense was good statistically, but we averaged 19.3 points against conference defenses with a pulse (i.e. top 50 by defensive FEI). We lost more games because of our offense than our defense. I think we can count on defensive improvement next year due to talent and experience, but that can't be said about the offense. Tom will need to make changes or our offense will struggle again next year. We averaged less than 30ppg in conference play. We're not going to contend for the conference like that.
  13. Herman and his staff came dangerously close to losing the locker room last year. So yeah, I wanted Herman to go outside his circle and hire someone that would be able to help assuage the significant interpersonal issues that are everywhere in our program right now. Instead we got Ash, whose history as it pertains to player relationships is questionable. His past with Herman makes me skeptical that he will ever take the side of the players. I have other concerns too, but I wanted to explain why I don't like the comfort hire aspect specifically.
  14. He also said offensive game planning is taking up too much of his time, but it sounds like he wants to remain intimately involved with the offense
  15. Funny that you're hearing the same thing Nahlin is hearing minutes after he posts it
  16. For the uncultured among us
  17. This cycle has been absolutely wild. Slow start, decent spring with huge dreams, losing Bru and the Zach Evans top 5 within a week in May, huge early summer lull, then the recruiting equivalent of cocaine in averaging a commit every other day for over a month, very quiet fall as our season went to shit, and capping off the cycle by losing multiple to commits to the Utes of Utah. Thank God we recruited well enough in '18 and '19 that I don't have to stress about this class. I am scared about 2021 though.
  18. Poor Oscar. He finely stopped napping and swept the big 3 in the state en route to a great class only for the team to shit the bed and it all to fall apart
  19. Y'all, kids aren't flipping from A&M to fucking Rutgers lol
  20. IT users were talking about Herman and Lashlee talking at the Duncanville/Southlake game and whether Harrell said no and yada yada Nahlin: No idea where anything about a DC came up
  21. IT hasn't said anything new about a DC
  22. He has a daughter. Probably only a lateral move from Mehringer imo.
  23. So I came back and the photos aren't showing up for me in the post now, so here's a link to the album if anybody else can't see the charts. https://imgur.com/a/RUTITXI
  24. Samples and Herman have a good relationship
