  1. People are already running away with this but it doesn't make sense. Assuming that A&M/FWK/Demas/Dunn/Flanagan are all working together, two of the main "facts" here are irreconcilable: FWK is shopping Demas and Dunn as a package deal A&M isn't recruiting Dunn and even put Demas under Flanagan so that other schools can't get him If FWK/A&M are working togehter, why is A&M letting him shop their best commitment to other schools? Someone will say it's just to get Dunn offers and that Demas isn't actually being shopped. If that's the case, if the entire purpose of that is to buy Demas, why is a core part of the plan to pretend to sell him to other schools? It's just a stupid idea. Plus there's the small detail that Demas was committed to A&M and bought in to their class like 6 months before the transfer.

  3. I don't really think an improved pass rush (in non-blitz situations) is a given next year The dark cloud hanging over the pass rush discussion is that we lost Omenihu, who was far and away our best pass rusher last year. Ossai playing more is a positive, but none of our DL will be as effective as Omenihu. I'll be happy with Roach if he can hit 6 sacks, which is more than his career total thus far and less than 2/3 of Omenihu's production last year. The other DE spot is probably a push with Hager (purely from a pass rush persepective) unless Jacoby Jones surprises. Coburn is probably a much better option than Nelson but his snaps might be limited and if he gets tired pass rushing suffers. Also BJ playing nickel means he'll get to blitz more so that's good. Basically I think we'll be marginally better from a pass rushing perspective next year.
  4. My point about the sugar bowl was just that he was first off the bench. The targeting was definitely dumb. I went back and looked at Ok State and they were both there, forgot about Davis being in trouble too.
  5. Cook passed up Boyce by mid season. He’s the one that started against Ok State and came in to the Sugar Bowl after Davis’s ejection This board needs to pull itself together about Cook. I put a lot more stock in what he did on the field last year than what practice reports are saying. He played well last year. I don’t think this is worth the attention people are giving it.
  6. Seems like a pretty good leader of the class to me. He was one of the most popular guys at the Rivals camp where A&M was supposedly the hottest team. Active on social media and with guys like Evans. Not his fault Herman is smacking Jimbo around.
  7. That's the play I was referencing in my post too. We ran that concept 4 times in the final 8 plays of the game-clenching TD drive against UGA: 3 yards on fourth and 1 to end the 3rd quarter; 5 yards on second and 15 (Sam was hit at the LOS but somehow muscled forward, this is a perfect example of the unique value that Sam brings to our offense); stuffed on first and goal; stuffed on third and goal. I think that was the call on fourth and goal as well but I honestly can't tell what the fuck Vahe is doing. He isn't blocking downhill but he also isn't pulling. He kind of just falls down. He isn't particularly effective on any of the other four instances but it's a miracle Sam scored considering how bad he was on fourth down. Anyways, I'm excited to watch Braun leading the way when pulling this season.
  8. Yup, signs off every post and comment with his handle. They're also riddled with syntax errors so honestly the signature and even his showing his username aren't necessary to recognize his posts. I don't post random rumors like this that I see, but maybe the volleyball story factual occurrence proves we can speak anything into existence.
  9. An OB poster that seems semi plugged in (utx) said Jones is visiting for the LSU game to watch Caden play. I didn't think it was worth posting but hey if we're just throwing shit out there then might as well. I can't vouch for the veracity of this guy's claims, but he's not lotus horn.
  10. If Elko left they’d just rationalize the next guy as being better and blame Elko for all the missed this summer
  11. As soon as I saw that diagram at the beginning of the article, I thought QB run. Herman loves to run Sam off tackle when the RB and TE are lined up on the same side. If they have the nickel off the ball and the box safety that far back, we’ll be able to pick up some consistently nice gains with our bread and butter. Sam looks really weird running option plays. They’re effective at times, but he’s never looked comfortable doing it. I don’t really think it’s his style to just take off without waiting so he can read his blockers and the defense, but speed options need him to do that to force a decision from the OLB. It seemed like we ran that less as the season went on last year. I like that the play at the end of the article is included as an example of an effective run against LSU because we run that a ton for Sam. He’s really good at it. It’s also a perfect example of why I think Braun is a great fit for us. He’s going to be great pulling and leading all those counter plays. Im excited to see him doing that instead of Vahe.
  12. He was also injured for all of spring so yeah it would have been hard for him to do much
  13. I have a version of this ready to go for when a certain commit drops
  14. Anwar said tonight that if Ingram isn't good to go by the opener then Jake Smith will learn some plays at RB.
  15. Here's the actual targeting rule. Like @GW Hayduke said, it doesn't require a defenseless receiver. I've bolded the parts that show why BJ's hit was targeting. It's textbook targeting in literally three different ways.
  16. Yeah I noticed that too and thought it was weird. We've been on him for a long time. It was strange when suddenly A&M gained a ton of confidence.
  17. Yeah that was a really egregious no call and robbed Washington State of being in the playoff talk for a lot of the year. Worst call of the year that i can think of off the top of my head. Foster pretty clearly has his eyes down and makes helmet-to-helmet contact. That's targeting.
  18. At this point they just need to let it go. It's done. Stop hounding the kid and everyone around him just so that you can post updates saying the exact same thing over and over in order to keep hope alive.
  19. We just landed 4i Princely. Our twitter activity should increase. Tunmjse is off twitter for the season so I think his status will really drop anyways.
  20. I've got us at 10-3 including the bowl and excluding the CCG. Most likely we'll split LSU/RRS. I think we'll drop one to a lesser opponent. I went with 9-3 for the purposes of this poll to account for some bad injury luck. I don't see us dropping below 9 wins without some major injury problems. And we have a pretty good chance to have a really special team that gets to 11 or 12 in the regular season.
  21. Not sure about a non call, but Porter Gustin was also ejected for targeting
