  1. Surprisingly good write up from PFF https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/college-how-texas-will-battle-oklahoma-for-top-offense-in-the-big-12-in-2019
  2. Yeah it's nice we're finally to this point. I just used him as an example since he's already been passed up by Angilau. The guys in this class are facing the same situation with all the talent in 2021. That said if Tope Imade is your 4th best OL in a recruiting class, it's probably a pretty good class. Welp
  3. Honestly Majors seems like the type that is an alright take but is unlikely to ever be an impact starter. He'll need time to adjust and I think there's a good chance he gets recruited over during that period, if Hand develops and recruits like we expect. Like a Tope Imade (they're like opposite players, I just mean in terms of the career arc I'm expecting). I think EJ Rodriguez would be a solid outcome for him. I like Parr because of how shallow we are at C and his potential there That said I don't know shit about OL, those are just my impressions that I thought I'd put on the record
  4. I really don't think the Johnny Wilson recruitment is worth following His family wanting to move with him makes it more of a long shot imo. Nike has been setting up families for years. I realize we're a Nike school, but they have more direct ties and are generally a much dirtier program at the moment. Marvin Bagley's family/house story in the spoiler. It's not an exact comparison because shoe companies invest much more in individual basketball prospects, Bagley > Wilson, and because Nike probably won't be as directly involved with Oregon football as they are with AAU/CBB. I'm just offering it as another data point. At they very least the Oregon bagmen know what they're doing. I've said it before so sorry to repeat myself, but if we didn't match for Ringo we're not going to match for Wilson
  5. I especially like the part where he breaks out and has a lot of separation then decides to do another double move
  6. They had a survey where one of the questions was which FBS coach is the most trustworthy IIRC Patterson was the most at like 40%, Herman was somewhere in the middle around 10, and Jimbo was the least at like 5. Really it's just a product of who has been coaching in the state the longest I don't remember it being a ranking so you can't draw conclusions about who is the least trusted so I don't know why they're freaking out E: I remember seeing a preview of it but can't find it now. There might be more to it than what I saw.
  7. Just for reference here are the quotes "Officially over? Maybe. But I talked to Mookie today. You might be surprised on the timing of him committing. It won't be Texas, and I doubt he'll be in for the LSU game if what I believe is going to happen holds true." What a weird recruitment this turned out to be. I haven't been following recruiting for long but I haven't seen a kid do a complete 180 like that on us before (excluding Bru)
  8. Suchomel seems to think Mookie Cooper might commit soon and that it won't be Texas. If that's the case he probably won't be in for the LSU game. I know this board moved on awhile ago but thought I'd share He also still thinks we get Rogers but says it isn't a lock (pretty much a given in any Such update)
  9. Lol that list makes 0 sense. Did you just go to 247 and randomly choose 4 guys higher than Broughton? Or is there some kind of thought process behind it?
  10. If we're didn't match for Ringo, we're not going to match for Wilson
  11. As someone that used to scoff at Braun redshirting, it's not a terrible idea. Center in 2020 appears to be a bigger need than Guard in 2019. I still would rather him play this year because single plays can have huge long-term impacts in CFB, but I won't be upset if he does redshirt.
  12. So Broughton has been covered a lot already, but he's definitely saying something at the Rivals camp. Writers for the A&M, Tech, and Arkansas sites as well as the Texas regional guy have put in their versions of CBs for him to A&M. Suchomel is saying that he isn't a silent but that "it's going to have to be a family decision if it's Texas"
  13. I know CTJ mentioned it, but it'll be interesting to see if there is any fallout from the Jimbo/FSU article. OU immediately hammered us with the Chip Brown piece and stole Bonnitto and almost Adeoye. I'm hoping we can pull at least one Hookfin-eque steal with it. 2.89 isn't a great GPA, but it's solid all things considered. Certainly no where close to getting sanctioned for lack of performance. I went back and found what I could about A&M's performance (mainly # of honor roll players) and we outperform them in those areas.
  14. So their theory is that Matt Hayes came down to Texas on the 18th. Herman asked him to write a hit piece on Jimbo and he agreed. Then within a single week, Hayes came up with the idea for the article, interviewed a bunch of people, and wrote the thing? I guess they just don't pay any attention to the fact that the article says it reached out to Jimbo in May. Or they think that Hayes spent months spent months writing a piece on Jimbo just so that he could visit with Herman on a random Tuesday in the middle of summer with no practice going on. Just the first of many reasons their logic is really dumb all the way around.
  15. I'm not sure if you realize what you've done. 2 pages of draft talk incoming. I'll summarize my thoughts as shortly as possible: CJ 2-5, BJ 3-5, Duvernay 5-UFA, Shack 4-7
  16. Second best Brandon Jones video I've seen
  17. I hope not. It'd be a violation during the dead period.
  18. Did JaTavion Sanders not make it in?
  19. I really don't think think Ransom is meltdown worthy
  20. As long as we split Washington/Ransom it's fine. Well that and add Bijan
  21. I was really expecting a lot more sunshine on Broughton
  22. Apparently the coaches fed the players and recruits burgers right before the wing eating contest. Mensa moves.
  23. Dead period starts Monday soooo
  24. That's from McComas. He also had this: "Quay Davis said Texas feels like home, and he’s working on making the Dallas movement strong. Get the sense a lot of these young Dallas prospects have a lot of state pride."
  25. Same one as posted earlier, for clarity
