  1. That was my first thought when I saw the news. There's no cure for stenosis, so if it's bad enough to keep him out now, it won't improve later. I guess it's worth monitoring but I'm not sure what would have to change to clear him later. Really sucks for everyone, especially De'Gabriel.
  2. Jones that low and McCoy above Cosmi are crazy My version (projections for 2019) Offense: Collin, Sam, Cosmi, Braun, Ingram, Duvernay, Shack, Moore, Kerstetter, Okafor, Brewer Defense: Jones, Foster, Sterns, Ossai, Cook, Roach, Graham, Wilbon, Green, McCulloch, Adeoye
  3. There's been buzz about Buzz since before the tourney. It wasn't because of Tech.
  4. They say we live in the past, but their graphics team is stuck in the mid 2000s.
  5. I don't see anybody beating him out to start. I think he'll start and be a solid player. But he's getting a lot of hype right now and people seem to be counting on him to make a big jump. I'm just saying I'm skeptical that he'll be anything more than solid. I know he was out of position and injured, but he wasn't very productive last season as a disruptor/pass rusher. After our pass rush was bad to start the season, that was supposed to be something he could provide after moving back to DE/returning from injury. But he only put up 1.5 TFLs all season. For reference, Charles put up 7 TFL/4 sacks and Poona had 5.5 TFLs in their junior seasons. Roach also won't benefit from Charles pulling blocks next year (although Ossai might if he comes on). I just think he'll need to make a major leap in order to live up to the expectations of being the next Charles or one of the best players on the defense next year. I definitely don't hold it against Malcolm for his play in the first couple games. I have no idea why the coaches thought he could play Mike/Rover. It was obvious after one series that he was going to be really bad there. I think that's what feeds some of my hesitancy about McCulloch, since he's also a B-Backer being moved to Rover. I liked a lot of what I saw from him last year but it feels like there are some similarities. Maybe slimming down will help him transition better.
  6. What did Roach do last year to show he's a damn good player? Also, maybe I'm misremembering this, but wasn't the narrative last year that Roach wasn't effective playing as a down lineman his sophomore year but that he'd be better moving back to LB? It wasn't his fault he was terrible at Mac/Rover to start the year but now it seems the opposite narrative is taking hold. Don't get me wrong, I don't think he'll be bad, but I don't see him as our third straight DLOY.
  7. Dunlap says that Coburn took all the first team DT reps during the open portion today. Personally, Coburn winning the job would make me feel better about our front 7. I'm not buying the Malcolm Roach and Jeffrey McCulloch hype, so Coburn winning the job (which implies he beat out the solid Wilbon) means there's a chance to have another breakout guy in the front 7 along with Ossai.
  8. Huh, Kenyon Green at guard already. Whodda thought.
  9. Orlando's mission to find a way to get Overshown on the field suddenly ends with the invention of a new safety position: Rover.
  10. I'm also really confused here. Are you saying that Okafor being the starter means that Tyler Johnson is a future first rounder? I don't see how one leads to the other Also I'm skeptical of the premise that first round linemen start as true freshman "more often than not" unless you care to back up that claim.
  11. Anwar's saying Sam is still sick and won't practice tomorrow
  12. Ah, well yeah that's perfectly understandable
  13. Are you talking about the take two posted today? Why would that make you rethink anything? It was pretty worthless Article in question: In the comments Such says he thinks we lead.
  14. Dunlap is super high on Thompson overall. Has been since last year. So take that into account when he reports on him. Also even if there is some stuff that's inconsistent in there, I feel like OB's report is pretty realistic and in line with expectations rather than super optimistic.
  15. OB scrimmage notes from Alex Dunlap
  16. I'm starting to get really hyped about our offense
  17. Ringo isn't a silent but he we have a big lead
  18. Suchomel also had an article last week about how he was high on us but it was kinda just typical fodder
  19. Rivals (national) had an article with a run down of a bunch of guys from the dallas camp. Spiegelman predicted Brockermeyer, Dorbah, Javian Hester, and Kimber to us. None of the other prospects they talked about are really relevant to us.
  20. Sterns also deserves some level of blame for that WVU game winner even though I like him
  21. I know. That's what I'm saying. Scheme isn't some unbeatable trump card.
  22. We actually did what you said in your edit somewhat regularly towards the end of the season. We don't run 4 DL, but we do use 4 man fronts. Honestly, any DL battles we lose are just losses. The scheme pitches really aren't that hard to beat and aren't important enough to be the only reason a kid would choose A&M.
