  1. That one is absolutely the wildcard. I needed one to be at least super bold. We saw it happen with Cosmi last year so it's possible, but obviously winning the starting job is the first step.
  2. (Moving this from the other thread) Since spring practice started today, here's a way-too-early bold predictions for next year: All three of Jones, Foster, and Sterns are All-Big 12 safeties One of them wins Big 12 Defensive POY Whittington has 1200 all-purpose yards Christian Jones makes FR All-American We don't have a 1000 yard rusher Record prediction: 10-3 (not including a potential CCG)

  4. Amazing how SEC is A&M's biggest recruiting advantage yet it is suddenly becoming a huge recruiting disadvantage.
  5. Bryson Washington too I believe (although he joined Ro recently IIRC)
  6. Ah, all that stuff about Texas/Herman/BC being jealous makes a lot more sense once you realize it's projection
  7. Just like Malcolm Epps
  8. So if his family gets fired along with Lovie this year then what, follow him to whatever FCS school he ends up at?
  9. McCoy in the Texas polo doing the hook em at the end is still a bit surreal
  10. I like the logic of that second guy: Herman missed on guys in state last year. That's bad. Fisher is going OOS this year because the guys aren't even interested. That's good.
  11. It's the This Is Texas lanyard they get during visits
  12. CMV: It's more likely that Illinois wins 3 games and Lovie and co. get cleaned out (including the Trinity coach) than it is that they sign Mookie.
  13. If they think they'll need to make a bowl to keep Mookie I feel pretty good about it. This is Illinois. I think we'll be fine.
  14. Yeah let's just take all the guys that are easy. I'm sure that wouldn't lead to a Mack 2.0 situation. People that don't like drama shouldn't get too invested in recruiting. You can't land elite classes without it.
  15. The Mookie thing sucks. But we also were about to lose Washington/Shepherd/Watson/Grandy/Hookfin in the last two years before the staff pulled it off. And Bru on top of that. Keep pursuing Mookie because there's no reason not to.
  16. I think we'll get it next year. Not only is it a top 10 matchup, the game will be much closer. A&M is like a 20+ point dog right now.
  17. Tillman at 235 is surprising but I think it's a good thing
  18. Alex Dunlap (OB): JUCO OL Willie Tyler Will Need to Redshirt, And That's a Good Thing
  19. If he locks it at 999 we'll just have to start another 2019 thread and try again
  20. If everybody that opens this thread in the next hour posts one thing, we can make significant progress and maybe even hit 1k. Then it'll be done. Like ripping off a bandaid. This is my contribution.
  21. Even then they still lost 2 of their best recruits at positions of need in 2019
  22. From now on I'll make sure to only use College Football Playoff National Championship when speaking about the national champion of the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision.
  23. Who exactly is our second great OT? Kerstetter/Okafor aren't championship level starters. They might be if they improve a lot this year, but I don't think it's a given that they're more than above average. Plus, it looks like Jones will start the spring as the starting RT. Positive development, but doesn't speak to Kerstetter/Okafor having the staff's faith. For the record, my early prediction for next year is 10-3. I'm not negative, just trying to be realistic about strengths and weakness. I think once spring practice reports come out then we can start to speculate about guys making leaps and stuff, although even that can go poorly (thanks Breckyn).
  24. Roach and Wilbon are the only SR DL that have shown anything so far and I don't expect either to be more than good. I think there's a ton of variance in what could happen with our DL, certainly wouldn't say they have a high floor.
  25. National Championship level: QB, S, WR I'm putting a lot of faith in Sam here but I think he'll be a top 5 CFB QB next year. S and WR should be among the best in the country. A position group being top 5 in the country qualifies it for natty level in my mind. Big 12 Championship Level: K/P 9 Win Level: OL, RB RB assumes Ingram's health and includes JWhitt in that group. We have 3 all-conference starters on the OL which almost puts them in the level above, but I'll wait to see who wins the other 2 spots before giving them the nod. Good but work to do: CB, TE These groups have potential but returns no starters from last year. Lots of work to do: LB, DL LB is a bit scary outside of B-backer. I edited and added DL here. We've had the Big 12 DL OTY the last two seasons. Without someone of Poona's or Charles's level, I don't have faith in the other guys to get it done. Our pass rush was really lacking last year. There's some talent but no one that we can really count on to be a plus player next year.
