  1. yeah. I generally just take a shot at it and fix it, then call a guy to come do a service on the system. The guy is use to me by now but when he is checking the freon, I'll let him know that I swapped out (whatever) and could he check to see if I did it right? the last service cost me $40 to have everything checked out including the part that I swapped out (contacts that cost $15 online). HVAC guys dont like this. And, now the HVAC supply here in Killeen, the place I have gone to for almost 20 yrs, wont sell parts to people who dont have a HVAC license. I looked at him and said really? you're just going to drive to someone else that WILL sell me the part? He said his main obligation is to the contractor. ok, whatever.
  2. My mom had a motorized recliner due to her health and advanced age. she got to the point where she wouldnt even use it because it took WAY too long for it to lift up then tilt forward so she could get out of it and it was too hard to get out of it if she didnt use the motor. It mostly just sat there until the grand kids and great grandkids came over and played with it. As expensive as it was, she eventually just gave it away
  3. hahaha phd has more money than sense. your average redneck could fix this in 5 minutes. If you think it's the motor, get the numbers off of it (or off the recliner model on a website) and order the motor. Since you are into wasting money, order the whole assembly. it would make it a lot easier If you think it's frayed wiring - that's simple - cut the frayed part and reattach or splice in additional wiring and reattach. Or... put this recliner out by the street and buy a recliner with a handle and not a motor. holy cow
  4. I was going to make a joke that you dont need to go higher than a two-stroke, then you said you paid a guy $65 to tell you the motor was bad, seriously? wow that likely cost you more than the motor. Did your guy give you the Simon Cowell look? Take the numbers off the motor, go online and order you one. Then have your husband put it on for you
  5. All these guys are wrong... The problem is your engine isnt big enough for the amount of fuel you are pushing through it.
  6. so....? what happened? did the coons win? Are you still alive? Speak to us! This afternoon I was listening to the radio that was off and on talking about the thunderstorms that came through today. At one point, they talked about how bade it was up in Hico, Mineral Wells and "Possum Kingdom". Is your habitat now named "Coon Kingdom?"
  7. yep. it's the cost of convenience for a good product. If you have the want to, however, you can blend up a very good product of your own. you can buy a whole chicken on sale for a $1 a pound and a turkey for the same off season. You can buy a lot of good stuff on sale the day of expiration including expired eggs. You may not want to eat it but the dogs would LOVE it. If you think about it, there's a lot you can add to this list and most of it can be frozen.
  8. How much is TexasTripe? I went to the website and it looks like you have to sign up with a personal information page just look at the prices. Is it cheaper than FreshPet at HEB?
  9. You must be boring if she wants to be in the phone during sex
  10. https://victorpetfood.com/products/high-energy hhmm ... I might try it out even thought it has 18% grain but I will have to think about it. The 79% meat source is from meal and not real meat. First four ingredients: Beef Meal, Grain Sorghum, Whole Grain Millet, Chicken Fat
  11. I will. there are a couple of places in Copperas cove, Belton and Salado that sell Victor. Which type of victor do you use? I can look up the ingredients on the internet and find out if it's worth the side trip coming back from the Temple VA next week
  12. Victor looks expensive on amazon. From my point of view, anything approaching $2 per pound for kibble is expensive. The only one I saw that was reasonable was the "Beef Meal & Brown Rice Formula, Dry Dog Food" at $43 for a 40 lb bag and it has a lot of grain and no real meat.
  13. agree 100%.... however, a couple of one time purchases such as ROKU and Firebox are well worth it for a ton of free content. some I was already watching on cable and surprised they were free on on either ROKU or Firebox. .
  14. That's a whole lot of bad logic. If you want to justify what you do by comparing dairy and monkeys or what is good for dogs to you giving your toddler candy, then go ahead.
  15. They didnt evolve in the sense I think you mean it. they were bred. Dogs with good genes that led to better domestication were re-bred - an unnatural selection process. If it is a fact that some dogs can tolerate more grains than a wolf does not mean more grains are actually good for them. When I give my dogs raw chicken, they get quite giddy and run around the yard. My cat does something very similar when I give her raw fish or chicken. Last night I put a chicken thigh bone in my cat's bowl, she ran over quickly, ate ALL the cartilage and literally half the bone. Cats are more carnivorous than dogs and this is what both need.
  16. I'm going to skip a lot of the malarkey. Dogs dont eat grains in nature - that's not what they do - but they will eat just about anything that is mixed with meat, which happens if they eat the stomach of what they eat. Dogs dont eat cooked food in nature either but being part scavenger, they will eat cooked meat. The fact that dogs will eat what humans feed them is not evolutionary any more than eating out of a human bowl means they are ready to sit at the table with a fork and knife and hold a conversation. It also doesnt mean that eating grains and cooked food is necessarily good for them either.
  17. I forgot to add that I add a couple of eggs to the mix. I start by grinding the chicken bones and egg shells, then add everything else. It sounds like a lot but it's actually very reasonable and VERY good for the animals.
  18. I tell the realators, NO cement ponds, esp if it is close to the house
  19. Here you go cable junkies... There I was, last night I as was awatchin' channel 36 (KXAN) out of Austin and there was a banner streaming along the bottom of the screen that said something to the effect that Direct-TV and U-Verse discontinued broadcasting KXAN. Yeah, people paying high dollar for local channels and it gets turned off. hahaha And, here I be, watching Austin channels for free in HD over the air with an antenna in my attic from Killeen. smh
  20. I didnt know people were still using dial up. good thing I didnt throw out my 512 modems
  21. why bother cooking it? You could just mix it all up in a food processor and freeze it in serving sizes. I add a few drops of "Pet-Tinic" in the batch to add vitamins and minerals. Pet-Tinic is cheap: ~$12 for a 4oz bottle and goes a long way. I keep bottle in the garage frig all the time.
  22. no, it should not. you only need 10 mb to stream HD. 100mb should be able to run everything in your home.
  23. I was nervous at first, esp shipping my super 8 reel to reel movies but they did a great job. I then edited the digital movies and made silent films out of them. They turned out pretty good. The first box was close to a hundred reels (72) and VHS tapes (however many VHS to fill the box up). I have close to that many VHS tapes to do later.
  24. I've done it several ways. I've copied them on my own from VHS to digital. I've copied reel movies to digital. I like tinkering so it doesnt bother me if it eats up a lot of time. But to be honest, for the few hundred bucks it cost, LegacyBox did a great job with both super 8 movies and VHS tapes and would save you a lot of time. Matter of fact, there are a stack of 13 VHS tapes in my office right now that I'm going to copy to digital soon .
