  1. Congrats to Ramey. Again, once a player GRADUATES, I have no problem with them going anywhere they want if they have eligibility. Just like grad school. I will root for them with zero ill will.
  2. Just went on a golf trip for a week to Ireland with friends. Amazing trip. I will say that the Dublin airport is an absolute shit shoe. Took us 2 HOURS to get our luggage on arrival. Then when we were leaving, they said "get to the airport 4 hours early". Seemed absurd to me, but whatever. It ended up taking every bit of the 4 hours. I would estimate that the line to get through security was over a mile long. No exaggeration. It was the longest I have ever seen by a considerable stretch - and I travel all the time. We ended up playing Old Head, Ballybunion, Tralee, Dooks, Heritage and Castlegregory - and drank in more pubs than I can remember. Probably enjoyed Dingle the most of all the small towns. Just one great pub after another. Stayed at a decent hotel in Tralee and used it as our base. Not the best town, but the location was great for our needs.
  3. Man that was a good game
  4. I enjoy most shows that don't have a happy ending. As such I was satisfied with this one. Main complaint is that Ruth should have immediately run to the woods as soon as she saw the SUV. Then they could have had Camila waiting for her there.
  5. I stand by my view that this is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Not entertaining. Not deep. Just really really dumb.
  6. I have a very cheap company rate on the car and it has to be round-trip. Also my flight out of Raleigh was a lot cheaper. It wouldn't matter if it was just me and the wife, but it gets expensive dragging along the whole family.
  7. Also, I don't really need recs for DC. I've been there a number of times, including taking my Longhorn granddad there on an honor flight - which was AWESOME.
  8. Thanks all. We are going June 4-11. So hopefully it will be a little better weather than later in the summer. Here is the general route, but I'm not certain what section of Shenandoah NP we will do. We will get out and do at least a hike or two, probably under 5 miles total. I'm not set on staying in Richmond on the way back or going down I-95, but it is pretty far back to Raleigh so I'm thinking we will make it part of the way there on Friday. We fly out at 4 PM on Saturday. I also have a couple of Marriott 35K nights to burn if there are better options. Looks like we will be close to Luray Caverns. Is it worth a detour? We basically have one full day to get from Charlottesville to Dulles (staying there to make it easy to get to the Air & Space center the next day). That includes any hikes or anything. We will try to see Monticello the day before.
  9. I can see this is a popular destination, lol

I think it would be cool if they found a way to put longhorn symbols in the 3-point line or lane, but VERY light and in such a minimal way that you couldn't see it unless you were on the court playing. I think as a player I would think that was cool. Something like this...
  11. We’re just stopping for the night in Richmond on the way back to Raleigh to fly home. Other option would be somewhere on the outskirts of DC like Alexandria. Or drive all the way back to Raleigh and spend the day there before our flight.
  12. I don’t see a world where Bishop isn’t starting. He was great for us last year and will be even better this year. Bishop, Allen and Carr are all guaranteed starts IMO. If Disu starts, Allen will be starting at the 3.
  13. I booked an extended vacation the family this summer to explore the North Carolina coast, Virginia and Washington DC. We are flying into Raleigh and driving to a variety of places in sort of a figure 8 pattern. Here is the basic outline and order of destinations. Outer Banks, NC Colonial Williamsburg (and maybe Jamestown) Charlottesville, VA (and Monticello) Shenandoah Valley National Park Washington DC Richmond, VA Any tips on things to do, places to eat, etc?
  14. A 7th year with a program is too long IMO. He needs to move on with his life. And we need some fresh blood. Everybody wins. I don't think he left over money as much as opportunity to do something new. And the window to be a pro basketball player is pretty narrow, regardless of the league he ends up playing in. I hope he eventually finds his way back to the program in some capacity.

Some people like houses like this. Critics think it is boring with all the straight lines and minimal style. Other people like houses like this. And their critics think it is fussy and archaic. Different strokes for different folks. I personally love the floor and think it fits the stadium perfectly.
  16. I thought the same thing... which made me feel old.

Went to the George Strait concert tonight. Before the encore, it got REALLY loud. I can’t even imagine how loud a close basketball game is going to get.
  18. I actually think with Ja's style, he is better off staying somewhat slender. I'm most concerned about his knees and ankles. Curry would fly around all over the place and was amazingly durable. I'm also not ready to give up on Lillard. Back a year ago, he was 2nd team all-NBA. When he finally falls off, it will be a slow decline more like Chris Paul or Kyle Lowry. He will have some bad years with injury and then he will bounce back for some good years.
  19. People are saying Ja is small, but really he is just light and will add bulk as he gets older. He has decent height and excellent wingspan. His standing reach is more like someone who is 6'5. Here are some measurements of other point-guards drafted over the last 15 years. Ja - 6’2 with 6’7 wingspan, 175 lbs, 42” vertical Chris Paul - 6’0 with 6’4 wingspan, 179 lbs Trae Young - 6’1 with 6’3 wingspan, 178 lbs Kyrie - 6’2 with 6’4 wingspan, 191 lbs Lillard - 6’2 with 6’8 wingspan, 189 lbs De’Aaron Fox - 6’2 with 6’6 wingspan, 170 lbs Curry - 6’3 with 6’4 wingspan, 181 lbs Westbrook - 6’4 with 6’7 wingspan, 192 lbs One good sign to me that he has improved his eFG% while also increasing his volume. He is also up to >34% from 3 and will keep getting better. Memphis really needs to add another major weapon and decrease his usage to help him get to the next level.
  20. That was an extremely entertaining game.
  21. That reminds me… Jamaal Charles was such a badass. Probably my favorite UT running back, and that is saying something.
  22. I think Ben Simmons is a clown, but so is James Harden. There is still a chance that BOTH of these teams are hanging out on a beach in Cancun within the week. I'm not at all ready to declare the Sixers as the winner of that trade. Nets Got: Ben Simmons (25) - 3-year contract (~$38M per year). Still young and capable of playing at DPoY level Seth Curry (31) - 14.9 pts, 2.6 ast, 2.6 reb, 46.8% 3P% - 1-year $8.5M contract. This is a great deal for a key role player Andre Drummond (28) - 11.8 pts, 10.3 reb, 61% FG. Free agent next year, likely to stay with Nets. Good depth piece at decent price 2022 (or) 2023 1st Round Pick - Brooklyn decision. Will likely be in the 20-30 range 2027 (or) 2028 1st Round Pick - Top-8 protected both years. A top-10-15 pick seems likely given that Embiid will be 33 by then. Sixers Got: James Harden (32) - 1-year $47M contract. 21.0 pts, 10.5 ast, 7.1 reb, 40.2% FG% - Will he ever get in shape again? Paul Millsap - 1-year contract. Likely cut after this year People are ready to write off the Nets, but they could come back much stronger next year. The Kyrie vaccine situation will be resolved and Ben Simmons should be playing by then. Once on the court Simmons isn't a bum and should fit the needs of the team perfectly. They will also get back Joe Harris, which will give them another excellent shooter to pair with Seth Curry. Nic Claxton is still very young and has improved every year. He and Day'Ron Sharpe should both come back better.
  23. Treating Jokic’s face like a bowling ball. Damn!
  24. I think ANT will be a better player than Ja. He is going to be special. I especially like what I see from him on defense.
