Sleep hasn't been an issue. I'm more concerned that something is wrong with the combination of my left jaw and ear. Pretty bad cracking and gurgling on that side when I move my jaw around. Who knows.

Over the last year, I've developed a moderate case of tinnitus. Basically my ears have a continual high pitched ringing, especially my left ear. I suspect it was caused by a combination of sinus issues, jaw issues, constant video calls and possibly COVID (50/50 whether I had it). Interestingly, my boss and main coworker have also developed moderate cases this year.
I figured that this is a good topic to get some discussion on given the rise in cases and the recent suicide of Kent Taylor (Texas Roadhouse) due to tinnitus.
Is anyone else experiencing it? Are there any experts in the Austin area you would recommend? Also any good ENT doctors?
If this works better in another forum, please move it.

I'm going to go with the Bill Simmons question of "if aliens landed and we had a single game for the fate of the world, who are my first 5 picks to be on the team?".
- KD
- Kawhi
- LeBron
- Steph
- Jokic
It is hard to leave Giannis off since he can get a team to 50 wins almost by himself, but in a single game I'm going to go with the guys above.
As a thought exercise, with some of the players behind these guys, you can ask... "if I swapped X player with one of these guys, how would the team results change". For example, if you swap Steph and Luka, which team does better this year? I think Dallas improves with Steph and GS gets worse. Barely.
Swap Giannis and Jokic, which team gets better? (Yes I realize they play different positions). Close one here. I think the role players in Milwaukee get marginally better and the team wins a few more games. For me, it is very close between Giannis, Jokic and Embiid. Swap Jokic and Embiid and both teams might actually get better.
Jimmy Butler isn't getting any mention. This year he was #5 in PER, #5 in WS, #3 in WS/48, #6 in VORP
Zion is #4 in PER, #11 in WS, #13 in WS/48, #10 in VORP
Gobert is #2 in WS, #4 in WS/48, #14 in VORP, #15 in PER

Before I answer, need to get alignment on what we are talking about here. Top-5 for a single game? Playoff series? Whole playoffs? Whole season? THIS past season? Starting a team?

Bah.
If Magic can go 42 and 15 while playing center to win a championship in the 80s, Bron could play it just fine in the modern game.
Is Jokic really going to be able to guard LeBron on the other end of the court? -
Man… Cameron was laying there in serious Payne.

The nugget cheap shot thrower F’ed around. And then he found out. I enjoyed it. He got off easy.

We were flying SWA from Kona to Honolulu a week ago and we're in row ~7. A husband and wife were sitting in row 1 on our side. The plan was probably 30-40% full. Husband is a 60s black guy wearing a straw fedora. Wife is a late 40s bleached blonde high maintenance Karen.
Last passenger gets on. Cool you everyone can stretch out. Tona of room. But wait there's one more passenger. Clueless 20 yr old Japanese lady boards... and proceeds to sit between the husband and wife.
They are like "there are 100 seats open behind us!-$-?!". She is "no I want to sit here". Stewardess says sorry it is open seating. Anyone is free to sit where they want. If the husband and wife want to sit together they can move to the back of he plane. Much drama and mouthing off from the couple until the stewardess says with another word they are all off the plane.
Nobody moves it says anything. Flight takes off. Things appear to cool down. Japanese lady still sitting between them. Now black guy decides he is done wearing a mask and done with this BS. Stands up and starts acting hostile. Stewardess talks him down and he and the wife file to the back of the plane for the last 10 min of the flight. Japanese woman now gets the row to herself. Winning, lol.
We land and there are 7 of the biggest cops I have ever seen waiting for the couple. It was all highly entertaining. Why they didn't just tell her she could have the aisle or window and sit together I have no idea.p. People are going crazy.-

For the IS, I might honestly play Bron at center. Go with:
Steph
Harden
Kawhi
Durant
LeBron
Then Lilllard, AD off the bench. -
In the end he can always go G-League or Europe. It isn't like he is completely screwed if he is undrafted. Either of those are probably better options for him at this point.

Just got back from the Big Island as well. Stayed at Mauna Kea Resort for a few nights, then a Hilo AirBNB, then Volcano, then Courtyard in Kona. Overall great trip with the family.
Here are some pics:-

It annoys me that we sent so many vaccines up to the panhandle during the early vaccine rollout and had to wait months for them elsewhere. Many of those counties were giving them to young people because they ran out of olds who wanted them. Meanwhile in the Austin area we had old people waiting months (and likely dying).
Get vaccinated, moerans. -
Lulz at Joe Ingles ignoring Mitchell frantic demands for the ball and just casually dribbling up and knocking down the 3. Haha.
-
Gobert looks like Beaker from the Muppets
-
Brown had an open lane, but good defense by Lopez to close it back down. He should have kicked it to Joe Harris who looked to be wide open.
Or better yet call timeout and work up a play to free Durant. -
All of those comparisons are fair. And all of them could have been the #1 guy on a title team. But they all would need help.
-
I can see your point regarding -3.5. I think if I was going to bet anything it would be the Nets ML if you can get decent odds.

Look, as I said Tatum isn't as good as Durant or LeBron. I'm not going to argue that.
But for their 22 yr old season, Tatum had a higher eFG% than either LeBron or Durant. He turned it over less. He shot better from 3. He was a vastly better FT shooter than LeBron. Yes, he scored less than either of them... but only because he played 10%+ fewer minutes. He outscored both of them per 36 min.
Also, win shares isn't a great comparison at that age because:
- Less games were played this year for Jaylen Brown
- Tatum gives up a lot of WS to Jaylen Brown and Kemba. At 22, LeBron's next best player was Larry Hughes. Durant also dominated WS for OKC as Westbrook & Harden were still young <15 ppg scorers at that point.
Not sure why I'm defending Tatum honestly. I'm not actually a huge fan, lol.

It is an absolute must win for Milwaukee. I still think they will lose, but I wouldn't bet that game.
-
Domantas Sabonis is also 24 and putting up some pretty salty stats: 20.3 pts, 12.0 reb, 6.7 ast, 1.2 stl with 53.5% FG, 32.1% 3PT, 73.2% FT

It is crazy that Jayson Tatum is only 22. I keep forgetting that as it seems like he has been in the NBA forever. Here is how he compares to LeBron and Durant at 22.
I'm not saying that Tatum is going to be the next LeBron or Durant, but he compares pretty favorably at this point. He is a better shooter than either of them were at this stage, which is amazing to think about.
Also, for those who say none of these guys could be the #1 option on a title team, I think there is a reasonable chance that Donovan Mitchell proves you wrong this year. Utah is really rolling.

What are we gonna do when the Suns win the title and Booker averages something like 40 a game? Nobody talks about him being the next superstar. But he could write his destiny these playoffs.

Lately I've been watching the NBA playoffs or something and my wife and daughter will be having a conversation beside me while possibly watching something dumb on youtube. I usually end up snapping at them because the chaos of them talking plus phone plus the game crowd plus the announcers is just auditory overload. It drives me crazy.
