  1. They probably sit quietly reading library books while the team is on defense then get angry when the team loses.
  2. Yes, they should. Good point. No more sadboy shit (you know who you are). We're going to play well.
  3. OK, for all the weird mfs who apparently don't follow Texas football very closely. We have 5-star talents at QB, RB, and WR. We are about to rip everyone some brand new assholes. Quit your sad soyboy nonsense and get your ass a cup of this fucking koolaid already. Jesus, y'all need to get laid or something.
  4. The rage reaction was the only appropriate one.
  5. This is the position battle the entire college football world is buzzing about.
  6. They have locations all over Houston. Surely they must realize there's no word that inspires LESS confidence in the quality of Mexican food than "Gringos"? Corny white people don't care though. I believe I'm well-qualified on that subject.
  7. This is pretty scary, actually, and a super-good explanation for why we've been sucking on defense. There's arguably no more important position group on defense to have highly rated players than LB. The difference they can make is astounding. Jordan Hicks is a good example. He had 104 tackles for us in 2014. The most anyone has had for us the previous few years: 2021 - Demarvion Overshown: 74 2020 - Juwan Mitchell: 62 2019 - Joseph Ossai: 90 2018 - Gary Johnson: 90 2017 - Malik Jefferson: 110 2016 - Breckyn Hager: 65 2015 - Jeter Jinkens: 75 Elite LBs make all the difference. We have had a lot of "coach 'em up" position coaches at LB over the years, but not elite recruiters. That has to change.
  8. According to Hudson Standish, sources are worried that EDGE is our biggest weak spot: I hadn't realized how unproven/young we are there. We got: Ovie Oghoufo Prince Dorbah D.J. Harris Jr. Barryn Sorrell J'Mond Tapp Justice Finkley Ethan Burke A lot of people were high on Finkley but I haven't heard much about him lately. More-so Burke. People seem to think it's largely Ovie's job to lose, but aren't exactly raving about him. I suspect we'll see mostly Ovie, Sorrell, and Dorbah w/ a little Finley and Burke thrown in until someone lays claim to the spot. But yeah it feels like a pretty big unknown.
  9. I feel like Ketch, Anwar, Chip, Kirk, and Brian Davis all fall into the same category; highly selfish dudes who will throw the program under the bus at the drop of a hat in order to get attention. I actually like Gerry. His takes are good. IDGAF if he faps.
  10. Haynes King in their most recent scrimmage. Looks like a bust.
  11. I still don't trust these inside sources to adequately determine if the throw was after what should've been a sack. Not counting sacks correctly has to be why people thought Card was the leader.
  12. All mullets no bullets.
  13. Ewers getting 3+ weeks with the ones to prepare for Bama makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
  14. These reports crack me up, how they have to print whatever the random person they're using as a source says. "This source began a long rant about woodworking and the price of tea in China. Honestly, I couldn't really follow but they have insider access so I just stood there slowly blinking and nodding my head."
  15. Fuck the nerds. He didn't come here to play school. Footbaw is about gittin' er dun.
  16. Were there any practice reports from today?
  17. Casey would be the starter here if he’d stayed.
  18. I will say, listening to the man talk, I actually agree with all the other position choices he’s making.
  19. I'm over here watching Card highlights from '21. Man, I am trying so so hard to find something to make me excited and I am not finding it. I'm not putting it outside the realm of possibility that he has evolved and improved (also, Whittington fucked us hard in that Arkansas game) but I also think a player has tendencies and those rarely change. I'd just like to see Quinn get one more chance in the scrimmage this Saturday.
  20. In 7-7, it was all frenetic. There were staffers all over the field. IDK how the quarterback is expected to concentrate in that environment.
  21. Ian Boyd can’t be trusted to be honest and objective. He’s just trying to prop up his NIL guy. Card was sacked 7 times and threw 2 interceptions. Only 1 touchdown, not 2. The other one was a sack. Ewers protected the ball better and threw 2 touchdowns if you ask me. The Worthy drop in the end zone was on Worthy. Ewers placed it perfectly. His only INT was on a tipped ball that also should’ve been caught. It isn’t really close. It’s Ewers.
  22. Well, if the coaches are counting sacks as incorrectly as you are then I see the evaluation problem very clearly. Here, I'll list them, with timestamps: 27:57 - Sack. Dude is right in his face. Play shouldn't continue after that. No completed pass. 28:11 - Sack. Very next play. He would have gotten leveled. 29:56 - Sack. The defender who came around the backside was there and let up. No run for a short gain. 30:11 - Sack. The defender is right in his face, lets up. No touchdown pass. 31:02 - Sack. Defender would've destroyed him. No completed pass. 31:10 - Sack. This one's close but he probably would've been hit before the ball was thrown. 31:44 - Sack. No interception. So out of 26 plays for Card, 7 were sacks, 2 were legit interceptions. How is this a competition again?
  23. My dog, your bias stinks to high heaven here. It was much more than 2.
  24. That's what I counted, too. Some people are being way too generous with blowing the whistle. He was getting sacked right and left. Also, to be fair to him, those "interceptions" shouldn't be considered interceptions either. The plays were pretty much dead. I guess the question is why did he still throw those balls, though? It only makes him look worse after a sack.
