  1. Damn, Card did practically nothing good in 11-on-11. Held it too long. Timing was awful. Ewers looked very good. It’s not even close. Great patience, timing, and touch. The offense actually moved under him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. He will. 💪
  3. A reminder of who Quinn was at Carroll: In 2019, he threw 291/402 for 4,003 yards, 45 TDs and 3 INTs. In 2020, he threw 159/241 for 2,442 yards, 28 TDs and 5 INTs. Oh, he also rushed for 701 yards and 12 TDs over those two seasons. So, he threw interceptions on 1.2% of his passes. This idea that he's super interception-prone is new.
  4. Another Saturday, another scrimmage to prove oneself. Let's hope one of the quarterbacks takes all of the coaching tidbits and applies them and comes away with a clean stat sheet on Saturday. I think that's all it will take to be named starter at this point; decent production with no turnovers and minimal sacks.
  5. If PK/Patterson have our DBs just playing above-and-beyond such that they're terrorizing the quarterbacks, I could see how it could make it look like the QBs are playing worse than they really are. If there's any time of year for mistakes, it's now when we can teach/correct them. As long as Milwee/Sark keep teaching and the QBs stay dedicated to learning and aren't making the same mistakes over and over again then we're probably in OK shape there. Not great but okay. Maybe a David Ash level of play. Hopefully improving as the season goes on. And Bijan/the defense/Worthy&Whittington could relieve some of the pressure on the QBs. Keep scores low, score 4-5 times a game. That's a pretty good recipe.
  6. At this point, I’m of the opinion that we shouldn’t even try to figure out the starting QB in practice. Fuck practice. It doesn’t count for much when the competition is this close. Games are what matter. Plan to start the season with both guys getting minutes and use the beginning of the season to find the guy who’s going to make the most plays when he bullets are live.
  7. I'm sorry, but this is a bit of a retcon. Yes, he was mostly productive at LT but that program is a beast unto itself and to say Card didn't have a tendency to turtle in big games prior to arriving on the 40 acres is a little untrue. What about the 2018 state semi-final where they got outclassed by North Shore 51-10? I think it will look pretty familiar.
  8. Sorry, I can't. I'm left-handed.
  9. You’ve been shit-posting a lot lately. Grow a sack and quit whining. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Seriously. The Doomerism inherent in our fan base is the same Doomerism inherent in our team. It’s why we’ve been sucking. No mental fortitude. The second something goes wrong, we just curl up in a ball and cry. Maybe instead of doing that, we should think “who gives a fuck, win anyway”.
  11. I respect you for trying to keep expectations reasonable. So many people act like any deviation from perfection is a travesty. I'll take regular old "good" at this point. Expect growing pains from our quarterbacks but ALSO expect the rest of the team to rally around them and take some of the burden off them. Especially Worthy and Bijan. This team knows (better than us) that their quarterbacks are going to need some help to get us into the win column.
  12. It sounds like you're used to the NFL. Established players are kinda rare in CFB. Players are unknown commodities until they're not. All we have to go on is potential.
  13. OB practice notes said: "The biggest offensive play of the day came from Bijan Robinson, who had a long 50+ yard touchdown run and then didn't see much action, if any, beyond that." That sounds like resting to me.
  14. Not sure why. We have the talent. We have 15 four-star DBs, some hungry DLs, and flashing LBs.
  15. It's stupid as fuck how we've been only wanting our offense to dominate. We rested Bijan and (I'm sure) Worthy so there's less reason to worry about that side of the ball.
  16. I'm less worried about RB. We're relatively deep there. I'm more concerned with Neyor. Hope he's alright. Expecting a big year from him. Sounds like it might be okay? Probably gonna rest him until the start of the season. I don't think we can dismiss what we're hearing about the QB competition. It sounds like no QB pulled away. I wonder if this competition could stretch another week or (god help us) into the season. I just hope we have it sorted out by the Alabama game. The defense winning the day doesn't concern me as much. We need them to be the stronger unit. A shut-down defense will give the offense extra opportunities. It's been a while since we had a ball-hawking defense flying around making plays.
  17. Seriously. That man has real commitment when he sets his mind to something.
  18. Does this tool think he's going to earn himself fans being a moralist and running off our players? He's gotta be one of the dumbest SOBs ever. FCB. Suspend the kid for half of the first game and that's it.
  19. I gotta say... I am a huge fan of this strategy of recruiting a whole o-line in the same class and letting them play together and develop chemistry as a unit, on and off the field, pitting them against the existing o-line. It could backfire, I guess, if the existing o-line is replaced en masse. But it's more likely that some of the freshmen will get pulled up, rather than all of them. But that chemistry should endure.
  20. I don't know why anyone would be surprised by his performance. Milton had 722 yards on 35 receptions (a 20.6 yard average) in 2019. He's been a performer at the FBS level. Stupid OB.
  21. Half of these (the bits in bold) are actually good strategies. I know I'm on this site but I actually don't mind if the coaching staff cracks down, limits information, and takes better control of the team's public image. It could actually do some good considering media meddling and shit-stirring has been one of the main problems for this program over the past decade. Fuck the media, fuck the players who talk shit on the sly, and honestly fuck the fans who create distractions for the players, too. Making it a situation of The Team vs. Everyone could possibly work.
  22. No, in all likelihood, it was in response to FCB (or whoever) badmouthing Hall and Billingsley's character. Revoke their access permanently. They don't belong in there.
  23. Ewers looks calm, composed. Card looks a little stiff, nervous, frantic, rushed. I mean, Card has actually played in college games, behind a bad offensive line, so maybe that's why he's playing like that, but I don't think it leads to good decision-making.
  24. Seriously. Fuck these blood-sucking leaches (Ketch, FCB, Bohls, and Brian Davis). I'd rather get no observations from them than have to deal with the fallout from them stirring up fabricated drama.
