  1. I'm actually excited to see him toting the rock.
  2. Yeah we'll be fine. Keaontay and JWhitt will play fine and Sam will be our 3rd runner. That's a lot of firepower. Our RB room will essentially be back to normal in a few weeks when everyone is back to being healthy. Calling Keaontay an injured back is a little misleading. He's expected to play in game 1. I think we're just holding him out out of caution.
  3. Shit, if he's healthy, we should get as much use out of him as possible. Put him in in a meaningful game. (Like Kansas or TTU or something) Give our starting RBs a little break.
  4. Not-so-hot take: Jake Smith will get some carries, whether we "need" him to or not, on end-arounds and jet sweeps, much like LJH did last season.
  5. Friday, right? Feels like all our main targets are making decisions. I'm curious to see who we go after after them.
  6. Meh. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
  7. I don't think Rivals really knows Texas high school football very well. All Texas high school players seem to be pretty undervalued by them.
  8. In his player availability, Josh Thompson said Caldwell is "making big plays and stepping up". 😁
  9. Hmm, yeah, y'all are right. Thanks for that link. The timing of his commitment and his highlights here threw me off, made me think he was a CTJ replacement. https://247sports.com/Video/Ethan-Pouncey-Winter-Park-2018-Season-Highlights-9268659/ Well now I'm fuckin' excited.
  10. Didn't see any ball skills displayed in his highlights, personally. What were you watching?
  11. I definitely take Eaton. He projects as a CB and I see Pouncey as more of a CTJ replacement/LB/Nickel type. We need to stock up on corners. We need to build some depth there. Alford is my favorite DB in this class, has been from the very beginning. He named his Hudl highlights "DBU Junior $ZN" back on 1/3/19. Has felt like a Horn to me all along. It's just getting to the point where it's impossible to justify committing to A&M over Texas. They don't have any personality. They aren't getting the talent needed to win. And dudes are starting to realize that. Coming to Texas is more fun.
  12. He could play in 4 games and still redshirt. I hope we don't need him at all but if we do then I at least hope we don't need him until the end of the season.
  13. Shit, put Roschon back there. Let him start tearing up defenses at RB.
  14. Damn, that was Jamison taking down Jake Smith at the end.
  15. Yep, same one. That was from the first day of camp. Looks like the wideout was Jordan Pouncey.
  16. Yea! Though I suspect it's the same pick as this one (near the end, #24):
  17. It's also pretty interesting to see Kennedy Lewis running #3 behind CJ and Epps.
  18. Hmm, I was under the impression that Green and Cook would be our starting corners but it sounds like they'll be battling it out for the same side. And Jamison will get the corner spot on the other side. I'm not sure I like the idea of keeping one of Cook or Green off the field. I also question how much Boyce can really challenge Jamison for the #1 spot.
  19. These don't look rather pedestrian to you?
  20. I'll happily bet on the dude who played HS football in Texas (and was a dawg while at it) and actually got tested over the dude who got handled with kid gloves in Georgia where they barely throw the ball. People act like the ball didn't get thrown his way because he was this transcendent talent when in reality it was probably just that they don't throw the ball very much there and if you are going to throw the ball, why throw it toward the guy whose father played for the Dallas Cowboys? Not saying Watson won't be successful. I'm just saying that to me he's more unproven and seems like a finesse guy. And I think Caldwell will play more like a dawg.
  21. He already had a pick in practice #1.
  22. Some problems I have with that list: 1. Jacoby Jones will be the 2nd DE behind Roach 2. T'Vondre Sweat will be ahead of Chisholm and Christmas-Giles 3. Marques Caldwell will be ahead of Kenyatta Watson (he will surprise a lot of people)
  23. Maybe if we get really upset about Orlando he'll land some elite LBs? JK, I love that man.
