Go to Tony C's. Pizza is solid.

Or, take one for the team and try out Shortie's above District. I've heard nothing about it yet.

does Tony C's have a patio? thinking of checking it out this weekend...don't mind a crowd, just prefer outside.

Me neither.  I honestly don't need it.  Give it to people that do.

also in the 'never got stimulus but didn't need it' club...

i will say i am happy they fixed that young adult error, that 'hole' that so many fell into last time, was it 18-21 year olds? i knew 3 young people in the service industry that really could have used it last time and didn't get it (nor did their parents). i can't remember the exact reason but there were lots of articles about it.

but they fixed it this time, yay! is this what competence looks like? 🙂

hmmm his politics really are a mystery...i think you can tell more about how he might approach governance by his actions... events he's appeared at, causes he supports, benefits he's organized, etc. he's definitely got a philanthropic/benevolent spirit. i honestly don't disagree with any of his quotes from this article.

as a person that has always voted person over party or platform, i remain intrigued 🤔

  4. almost finished with my first rewatch since 2013...got thru Ozmandias last night and holy shit i had forgotten the emotional wallup that episode had! 😲

i had also forgotten specifically what he did to Jesse that episode...i guess i had blocked out just how much of a monster Walt became. i remembered what happened to Hank and Gomez but it still really hit hard.

the final few episodes are some of the darkest tv ever.

this show really stands up well over time.

I honestly can't beleive they're holding it this year. This has to be the worst field in... ever?

I'm not complaining or anything, just feels pretty hollow.

for literally the first time i can remember, i've not seen a single movie in any category 😕

You’re goddamn right he won, and I salute you because I know you risk getting your Cult 45 card revoked by saying that. That 100-whatever year old can’t speak straight motherfucker won by 7,000,000 votes. 51 percent of the popular vote and governing with even higher approval. If he’s not hitting on all cylinders that’s really just an even harsher indictment of Trump his merry band of morons. So, I actually don’t know why you are fighting the obvious. You’ve been trying this for over a year at this point. Those election results and approval ratings should tell you pretty clearly that no one gives a fuck and it didn’t stick.

You clutch your pearls like old man’s up there shitting himself. Meanwhile, a comfortable majority of this nation is looking around thinking, “Fuck, this is so much better.” You lost to that shit. Didn’t just lose. You got electorally routed in contemporary terms. You know how fucking hard it is for a Republican to lose Georgia? The American people are overwhelmingly relieved to have this great grandpa in charge because of the astounding incompetence we all just collectively witnessed. And you’re throwing all self respect out the window trying to keep on fighting the good fight. I sincerely pity you.

  7. true, but Tony wasn't actually physically assaulting and/or murdering somebody every single episode 🤔

speaking of Sopranos, coincidentally, this show makes me think of Johnny Sack 😄

Skipping the parts already addressed upthread, I will ask for a link to the public pension bailout. I’ve found reporting that multi-employer pensions will get relief, but not public pensions. I’ll send a link, how about you?

this has been pointed out a couple of times in this thread with no acknowledgement from the OP that his entire premise is based on a mistruth.

i don't like mass negs in CR because they stifle discussion, but the OP seems truly disingenuous.

  9. so my adult step-daughter in PA is about as non-political as you can get...as in, she gets pissed off when ANYthing related to politics ruins her viewing of the Kardashians or Grey's Anatomy...

having said that, she lost her grandmother (my husband's ex-MIL) in January to covid, caught it and was dead in 4 days, none of them got to even see her and say goodbye.

she just shared this and made me cry: "I’m not a big political person, went to watch my shows tonight and got interrupted for the president addressing the nation, the beginning of his speech hit real close to home . Losing my grandma to this pandemic rocked me to my core. The loss people are going thru with their loved ones and not being able to be by their sides is beyond heartbreaking to me. I was blessed to be able to be given the chance to say goodbye to her. Grieving everyday!"

fucking EMPATHY in our leaders means something. it means a lot

  10. well, we might have celebrated too soon 😒

booster pump for the Polaris does not appear to be working - makes noise and has water going through it like it's running, but zero movement on the polaris itself and the water 'pull' or whatever you call it is super weak. so now have to get back in line with to get someone out to take a look at it specifically. boo.

pool can run w/o it obviously...and actually it's not a huge deal for a few weeks now...b/c our pool renovation is starting Monday! yay!

new plaster, new tile (weren't going to replace the tile but discovered several had broken and fallen in the pool b/c of freeze so added), new sundeck, coping repairs...i was getting worried the company we're using for the reno wasn't going to get us on the schedule due to all the repairs they have lined up, but the guy called this morning and we're on - can't wait!

between that and all the new plumbing/repairs...might as well be a brand new pool! 😎

(yes, we're using 2 different companies - the one that did the repair work so far is FANTASTIC, i'd be happy to give a recommendation if anybody needs one, but they don't do construction/renovation, just service and equipment repairs. the other company...fingers crossed, we got 3 bids and this was the one in the middle, i liked this guy best so hopefully i won't be back on here in a month bitching and raging about it lol)
