tried to grab some Sturgill Simpson tickets at Mission Ballroom this morning... no luck. i'll try resale in a few weeks, see what pops up...
but in the meantime, snagged some tickets to Jack White there! 😁
we saw Black Pumas there... such a small intimate venue, <4000 capacity, great acoustics, should be an awesome experience! very excited 😄

I'm not even joking, there's rumors going around originating from Grimes that Elon has a botched penis enlargement. Which would definitely explain a lot of his rage at the world and society.
This is 100% pure unsubstantiated rumor, but I'll be goddamned if it doesn't make everything make sense with him
you know... he's such a fucking snowflake weirdo that if this story gains enough traction i bet he'd go so far as to whip it out somewhere for inspection 😆

man...there is something deeply, deeply ironic in the Make America Great Again! and America First! crowd being completely down and supportive of traumatizing their fellow Americans and the indiscriminate trashing of their American government and way of life...and reaching the 'bridge too far' state only on the issues of turning Gaza into Trumplandia and bowing down to Russia.
🤣
anecdotal leopard stories aside, those are literally the only two issues i have seen some significant consistent 'heeeey....guys, this might not be a good idea!' responses.

i gave @Texasborn91 one posrep bc even though he clearly fell for the fear-mongering and bullshit lies spewed by Trump and doesn't have a clue when it comes to trans issues, there are slight glimpses of more reality-based thought and he's stuck around for actual discussion as opposed to running off like a little bitch-baby whining about the meany cabal. yay?

That’s funny. We are prepared to stay in Texas for 3 years but know our signals, we’ve been preparing for loss of proper identification - avoid government interactions, how I would drive less or not at all, avoid police interaction, possibly move my residency, then researching states and countries to move too, making moves for early retirement, and all the while and this is probably THE most important …. My friends tell me I have a magical ability to “alchemize” events and circumstances from the negative to the positive so the problems I face become challenges not to overcome but opportunities to triumph. If I’m forced to leave we will live twice as legendary as if we stay. I don’t know how I do it, I just don’t have the innate ability to suffer the plight of a victim, and while there is some ableism in that statement even when I was severely sick, I worked my ass of to triumph through it. I guess the “what if?” line of questioning always leads me to opportunity. They circle the firing squad so to speak on me and my people, what if we went on an adventure? Instead of OMFG we are going to have to flee. And then I just ignore the negative what if’s… I do not think about what if I had more time to think about ordinary things, what if I was cisgender and could run for office, what if I was still a guy, how much money have I lost because I’m not a dude…. What if I get tossed in a men’s jail cell. Those thoughts are not ones I entertain. Instead what if we live on in the mountains of Mexico and wake up to the vibrant cool air, the slow pace of life and without the American soulless social media and for profit industry for everything bearing down on us? I could go on and on. There is a winning mindset in times like these. I lucked into it about the age of 5 in a train wreck or a family of origin. How I chose adaptive behaviors instead of maladaptive behaviors at such a young age? I don’t know, maybe Jesus really does love me.
well that all sounds like a damn gender fiasco! 😋

I mean, their adoration for this guy is full-on religious. They believe whatever he says as if he's infallible. They defend his words in the face of contradictory facts with all the fervor that they defend the Bible in the face of science.
This is scary shit. They can do absolutely anything and it will be cheered on.
you know...maybe i need to revisit this whole antichrist angle. at least if i become a biblical nutcase i can stop critical thinking and try them there thoughts and prayers, seems to work for the other side...🤔

so... the scale of the dismantling and destruction is too huge, we can't have a texags-style thread for everything or this forum would just be littered with individual horrors...
but should/could we have a separate thread for some of the most egregious? like the LGBTQ thread is, topics that are the so horrifying and specific they deserve their own dedicated discussion?
for me, the NPS/USFS/BLM slashing and threats is the stuff of nightmares...but that's my opinion, so I'm asking if we should break that discussion out or just try to keep the horror contained here amongst all the others?

* that's how im feeling tonight anyway. but it's been bitterly cold and snowy for a few days and i think i'm feeling it, really longing for absolute ignorance.
but it'll be in the 60s and sunny ☀️ again by the weekend, and every day gets longer... maybe by glorious summer i'll be feeling more fight.
we'll see what fresh hell hath been unleashed upon the world by the good old USofA by then.
unlike our resident maga cretins i'll never, ever align my worldview with texags🖕

Rogan has no idea what the word psychopath means. i mean he's accidentally correct, Musk is a psychopath, but he thinks that's a good thing.

I think the pain starts this summer. Summer trips cancelled due to higher prices. Savings start to dry up and rents get missed. The trickle up begins.
Northern Virginia will be interesting to watch. Direct or indirect, the economy is tied to the Federal Government.
the horror stories, wildfires, and fiascos coming out of the national parks/forests this summer are gonna be something.

* Texas Observer - I've mentioned them anytime someone posts their articles. One of the only progressive, long-form, investigative journalism magazines focused solely on Texas. They accept donations starting at $5/month and their print magazine is a steal of a subscription. They also accept larger donations. If for no other reason, supporting the Observer to get the magazine is a great way to stay abreast of unheard of and unreported travesties in Texas (and in some case hope).
they've also been annoying tf out of fb maga by sharing pictures and post after post of beautiful images of the GULF OF MEXICO 🇲🇽 ❤️ 😄

well, i laughed a lot 😄
agree that Murphy was the funniest...dude still absolutely has it 😆
Meryl cracked me up 😂
so Mulaney's crack about only 'two hosts committed murder'...i honestly thought he meant OJ and...Alec Baldwin, who was in the audience and i was like
but i guess he meant Robert Blake lol. but that still seems like too close and too soon with Baldwin right there, heh.
as far as singing at their ages...Simon > McCartney. iswis 😐
it was fun checking the audience, kudos to Ryan Reynolds laughing at himself. kind of surprised Timberlake didn't make a showing.
i enjoyed it. pretty remarkable it's been around 50 years.
