  1. Corona viruses have an average immunity period of 8-15 months post recovery so herd immunity will probably never happen unless this virus were allowed to burn through the population naturally. Until there’s an effective vaccine world wide this will slow burn through the population reinfecting people as their antibodies diminish. We can also hope it selects for a less lethal variant and is relegated to a strong Flu A.
  2. The shithole recycling machine in Ohio. OU may have the dock market cornered, but those other fuckers have purchased and evaded their way into a 3rd transition near the top. riley may have stepped into a more stable situation, Orgeron stepped into better talent. the big winner is over at aggy making $75M for status quo of 4th in conference. I mean, I absolutely bleed orange and abhor aggy, but I would give up 3 years of my life working to get fired for $75m.
  3. At this point it doesn’t seem unreasonable to think there will be no classes on campus this fall and possibly this spring. What effect does that have on early enrollees decisions on where to play? Playing close to home makes sense, voluntary workouts and such, though how does housing figure into the scenario. aggy could be completely fucked with their OOS recruiting strategy. Brocks probably had a valid concern that they could be walking into a transition class if they committed here, now it looks like the staff will be here through at least 2021. Meanwhile Saban will be another year closer to retirement,
  4. If you have 2 inverter gens they need to be the same amperage and voltage. Connect them with parallel cables Do they have 30a outlets?
  5. Only logical Mormons should be supportive, why else have multiple wives if not for romancin. Plus for every guy who takes 5 wives, there’s 4 guys who get left out, supply/demand and whatnot.
  6. I would be ok with that, mrs Fidy and I went to westlake, or brood went to LT, so we always win. Based on recent test results within our family, I would likely attend every game if that were allowed.
  7. So a guy who went to college in Baton Rouge is racist? Wonder how he feels about LSU? Is this similar to aggy pretending to be a horn and fucking with recruits on SM to make us look bad?
  8. I realize it’s not a popular opinion, but let’s at least be honest about football players and their “free education”. Are there half a dozen players on the team who will play meaningful time in the NFL and make significant money doing so? Yes, and they are probably not receiving their market value playing in college (unless they are SEC) AND are physically ready for that profession. There are more with future potential but they still need physical training, positional coaching, nutrition, and mental maturity to get to that level and be successful. Are there >75 players who will never reach the NFL who are being “paid” tuition, books, room, meals, tutors, very high level medical treatment, along with an allowance? Meals alone, how do the football players meals compare to what you ate in college? There is no Golden Corral in the North end zone. It’s true those don’t amount to an actual tax free wage that you can save or spend at your own discretion, but they are the trade off for representing the university as a student athlete. For the great majority of players football represents an opportunity to get a degree for playing a game a lot of them actually want to play. How many HS senior football players are relieved when the reality sets in that they will never play organized football again just as they are starting to hit their prime physical condition in life? A few? How many would jump at the chance to keep playing, all the benefits aside? Probably a lot of them. Surely there are players playing only as a means to an end, like a chance to escape poverty. Well, the NFL might be a golden ticket, but a college degree in a surer bet. How many players get a more prestigious degree and better connections than they would have otherwise from academics alone? More than a few. Most kids play football because they grew up loving the sport. I mentioned high level medical care and I absolutely acknowledge that a lot of that care and treatment is a result of injuries from playing football. Though how many players have prior injuries that are remedied after they enroll? Or conditions not football related who end up with top specialists that would not have been available otherwise? We have quite a few just on our team alone. I don’t disagree with most of what you post, it’s the hyperbole that gets stale. This “great melting pot” of a country has some long overdue change that’s needed, the whole concept of race needs to be removed from the equation. We are all people, good, bad, ugly, beautiful, whatever... we need to move on from the social construct of race and focus on our species and our relationship with the planet and beyond. But the near-term demands of social equity and wether or not athletes get paid are two very different subjects. Yeah, most college football players think they are going to the NFL, so yeah they are underpaid at this point in their career. But reality speaks otherwise and most of them are being compensated quite well for a teenager playing a sport.
  9. They have so many fucking traditions, I really don’t get all the anger against taking down a severely racist statue. I mean, aside from aggy and all. there’s certainly some push back at UT about giving up the eyes of Texas, can you imagine the complete melt down if they were cornered into give up the hububbablew goodbye to us song? Holy shit, they would burn everything to the ground before that.
  10. Plus 1 for effort, but sorry, no pics. I really couldn’t speak to that, daughters friends and all. My son certainly has an opinion on the matter, he has spent the past 3 weeks in SM with one of them.
  11. JFC, 1917 GaTech beat the shit out of their opponents 491-17. Their closest game was 32-10. Aggy had a good season but GT didn’t share that title. 1940 is a joke. Again they had a good season, co-champs of the SWC, lost to UT but redeemed theirselves against Fordham in the cotton bowl 13-12. Meanwhile, the actual title was split among undefeated Stanford, Minnesota and Tenn (lost bowl). I suppose by aggy standard they credit us with 13 MNCs. No, only the 4 we claim? How absolutely aggy to need to one-up us, regardless of facts.
  12. So daughter has the most recent results of the group of ~30, her results came back positive Monday 6/22. The actual test was 10 days prior on 6/12. No symptoms, nothing at all. Of the group, one said she had a cough and sore throat for 2 days and another said she couldn’t taste her OJ. Out of the group those were all and the extent of symptoms, all the rest tested positive with no symptoms. I was extremely skeptical of the ~80% asymptomatic/immune theory posited earlier on, but in light of new information there must be something to it, or at least the idea some may have immunity from other Coronas. ,I don’t know all of them but I do know 11 of the positives quite well, they come hang at our place regularly during normal times. We are relieved and grateful that they are all well, and at this point we consider this a best case because we now worry less about how diligent they are (or weren’t) in trying to avoid catching it.
  13. daughter in San Marcos tested positive Monday, took 10 days to get results. They told her that since she has not had symptoms she can resume life. As a precaution she is quarantining an additional week and getting another test. 5 days prior to the positive test she got a rapid test, her BF and his roommate tested positive so she got tested, 1 hour results, negative. Prompted to get the second test because 2 roommates work at Chuy’s which had an outbreak. 1 tested positive, one negative. Among their close circle they know over 30 who have tested positive, only 2 with any symptoms at all and those were extremely minor. San Marcos doing its part toward herd immunity!
  14. Because their traditions are real and tangible, every aggy has lived to experience them. Meanwhile, winning football is just a story they pass along much like a fable. It has grown from 1 to 3 as time wears on, no one alive actually saw it happen so who’s to say otherwise? And if aggy were being perfectly honest with themselves, the source they use to claim 3 MNCs has UT with 9 including 1914 which predates their “3”. But aggy don’t think that way, 3:9 is a better ratio than 1:4, therefore they are catching up to us.
  15. The referenced link shows that the bulk of the spike is in the Hispanic communities, both by numbers and locations. 78741 and 78744 are the SE Hispanic center while 78753 and 78758 is the NE center. I know a good number of people from both of these areas and the don’t give a fuck level is high to very high in the communities. Large gatherings, no masks, crowded shopping venues, and an overall lack of concern. We had a small family gathering last weekend inside the lake austin/travis horseshoe and a parade went through a semi rural area, probably 150-200 people, around 30 charro riders (dancing horses), but most piled into different trailers. One with a band, one with a BBQ set up, several with older folks sitting at picnic tables, and a hay ride with 45-50 kids crammed on. It’s was quite a sight, but social distancing and any thought of a mask were clearly not a consideration.
  16. I spent a few weeks looking at this around the holidays. At first glance I thought New Mexico close to Jemez springs, but after reading about the guy I settled on a location in Montana along Madison rivers earthquake lake.
  17. Visiting family in CA summer of 1984, went to Imperial beach and we stopped at McDonalds. We were getting in the car when the gunman started shooting. Dad started to go back in, mom went bat shit hysterical, so he drove a block away and found a pay phone to call police. Inlaws, nephew shot a cop, his mom and himself. Completely fucked up disfunctionals, but didn’t see it going that direction. We had to deal with the house afterwards, his room was plastered with infowars crap. Side note: his dad literally drank himself to death a couple years earlier, a $7M+ lottery ticket sold at his corner liquor store a couple weeks prior and was never claimed. When we had to deal with the house after the murder/suicide his home office was still intact and there were about a thousand old lottery tickets in drawers. Crazy HS Gf’s dad is in prison for killing her mom. I didn’t like them much because our interests weren’t aligned. Thing is, I’m certain he didn’t do it, he was set up (by crazy and accomplice) He was smart and methodical, OCD immaculate. So he went all Dexter at the scene, then decided to drop the murder weapons and some bloody paraphernalia on top of the dumpster at his office.
  18. It’s kinda funny when someone thinks “man, Detroit is the biggest shithole in America. I can’t wait to get the fuck away from here. Texas is on the opposite side of the country, sign me up.” Then, “Howdy!!”
  19. Houston’s paper mill, 2 million people can smell it. If it was music and 2 million people could hear it, they’d tell em to turn it the fuck off. -RTSW
  20. Friend from college tried to join a police force and he tested too high and wasn’t accepted. He was basically told it was expensive to send people through training and if they are too smart they get bored and quit so it’s a waste of money. His dumbass aggy dropout friend made it.... 3 guys I grew up with had pretty well placed dads, a police lieutenant, a captain and a judge. It’s embarrassing how much shit we got away with.
  21. I have always thought those 2 plans makes so much more sense than what we have now, with plan 1 being the most practical but plan 2 would be my preferred.
  22. Hell yes. Kindle might have age and experience but hasn't played in like 8 years.
  23. I swear, my eyesight is starting to go and every fucking time you post I'm like "oh, he workswithweed" and I look at your av at all that green thinking it's weed. Every single time.
  24. Bama sitting at 48 in composite with 4 recruits. 3-4* and 1-3*. One commit in the comp top 50 and only showing to be in it on one other (Brock). They appear to be falling right off the cliff. Meanwhile, fuck fOSU. I can't think of a fanbase that less deserves the seamless transfers of power that they have. 2 coaches in a row won national titles but had to go for being shitheels and they still don't miss a beat and are recruiting like last decade Bama.
  25. West Virginia doing work. Coal mines, moonshine, and methamphetamine good life
