  1. At this point 10-4 is the worst case scenario. I think 6-6 is the best we can hope for next year, that will be his Waterloo.
  2. Haha. Not sure if Urban would take the job, and saban is fine where he's at. Saban would have taken the job 6 years ago, back when he was still looking at another decade of stacking his legacy and pallets of cash. So many programs have boosters worse than ours. Places like UH and until very recently OSU have a primary booster who is all up in your shit. One of the reasons Saban was willing to change jobs was booster relations. You would think winning 3 MNCs in 4 years would buy you the moon, but 2010 happened and he lost to SCe, LSU and Barn, in the same season! Gasp.
  3. Bet he would take 5/45M Rhule is looking like a damn good coach. Would he bolt for the NFL? That's what a lot of people think. If he started winning championships, UT is one of the handful of places that can pay more than even high paying NFL gigs. Leaving for the NFL probably depends on how a coach feels about recruiting. Many aspects of the college job make it an "easier" job than NFL, but this is probably the biggest difference maker and I have no idea how Rhule feels about that year round aspect of the job. Hermans extension was stupid considering his contract structure with the 250k annual raises, probably should have waited to see year 3 trajectory or maybe a 1 year extension would have sufficed. He basically got a $13M bonus for winning the sugar bowl. A rational approach is fOSU going from $7.5M for Urban down to 4.5M for Day (he's going to get a deserved raise) Or OU going from the giant bag of dicks down to $3.8M for Riley to start (also won hardware, CFP appearance and subsequent earned raise)
  4. My opinion after he was hired wasn't overly popular at the time, though I am almost certain I got a +rep from Bschoolprof "Great coordinator wins MNC, gets HC job at tier 2 school and has really good success, then packs his staff and brings his entire baggage to UT. Deja vu"
  5. You're an idiot. aggy wasn't paying attention to what part of the helmet he was using to hit with. And YOU should go back and watch the video. He is getting dragged away by 71 but he's trying to get at MR, not trying to swat him away in defense. And yeah, the 1st hit didn't and might not have ever killed him, but he sure as fuck was lining up for a second shot that pouncey stopped. Just get over it, MG was not trying to defend himself, he was trying to brain Rudolph. And before you post back bullshit, I have been hit in the head by a helmet after mine came off and it hurt. That's before H2H was penalty and before losing your helmet prohibited you from continuing to play. It's plastic, but it isn't all plastic as the forehead part reinforced by face mask doesn't give. I'm pretty sure I could kill someone swinging a helmet with a couple swings, MG is lucky he didn't completely fuck up.
  6. Fire anyone who doesn't like it, have their car towed, then have your security team escort them out of your building. Then have someone from HR box their shit up, spray paint one of those little army man parachutes metallic gold and throw it at them from your office. Call down to legal and tell them to handle the rest Sincerely Surly 0.1%ers
  7. The records are good indicators of success, the top 5 finishes are BECAUSE SECx3 If they were both still in the B12 with their respective records after joining SEC they would have ended up ranked around the 10ish spot. Your point still stands, SECx3 is just another conference except their bottom dwellers are worse than most others. Funny thing about the narrative of SEC defenses, LSU and Bama going spread and their defenses suffer. Playing good spread offenses makes your defense look worse, see 46-41. And running your own spread hurts your defense because they have less rest and play more snaps. Sushi had a good breakdown pre-LSU where he pointed out statistics about their defense collapsing after ~50 snaps. Play 3 yards and a clouds of dust shortens games and limits snaps, making your defense look better.
  8. Man, than last part is aggy logic at its best. Someone actually thought about that then typed it out. Your team lost 3 games. Our team lost 3 games. But there's no way you could beat any of the teams that beat us, therefore you are a 6 loss team. Painful
  9. B1G has 6 ranked SECx3 has 5 B12 has 5 AAC has 3 PAC 2 ACC Clemson dome and Boise Lesson? PAC sucks. ACC is even worse, but they have Clemson. AAC is their contemporary but PAC has a better history along with blue blood in some of their veins and they desperately need a pity fuck to keep them engaged. Looks like B12 drew the short straw
  10. Retaining a bunch of dead weight on staff instead of making a little room for Samples is paying dividends.
  11. I think you're onto something with the Bama rehab, Sark is OC no? instead of coke or water bottles at the podium he can pimp the local moonshine, Plus public intoxication and job drinking are accepted and embraced in those parts.
  12. B12 refs are so bad it's comical. PAC refs are even worse. Ref from WSU-Cal game is suspended. WSU had a ~50yd kick return and got called for hands to the face, brought back to the 8 yard line. Ran 1 play then official told leach they called the penalty on the wrong team, oops. Meanwhile in the Bama-LSU game they were pretty much left to play. If they had B12 refs it would have been a 5 hour affair with 60 penalties and 18 ejections, while everyone would have to suffer through the gun show hogging camera time. And the reviews, might have been close to 6 hours.
  13. When they ran away to the SEC in early 90s. Greener grass and whatnot like aggy. 56-22 overall
  14. So are you old enough that you got to witness fOSU fans Columbus style? Of course you know about sooners. OU fans fucking suck because everything about them sucks, fOSU fans are a bunch of fucking fucks. Pig is their regarded incestual offspring.
  15. It's fOSU. This is probably akin to driving through a checkpoint smoking a joint with a couple grams in a baggie that you can remorsefully forfeit and distract from the 150 kilos of coke welded into the frame of your follower truck.
  16. Hey don't get all bent, I spent $2.5M for sex before. To be more accurate, the cost was to move on from dwindling sex, among other things. There's always a cost to sex, marriage being one of the most expensive. As far as the name, potatoe/potato. Fiddy was already taken
  17. Holy shit. L O fucking hahahahhaa They are insane, truly " . We will allow discussion on the topic, but assumptions and accusations won't be tolerated.
  18. If you pay $20 for a sammich, how much do you have to pay for sex?
  19. Add $1 pabst blue ribbon from your user name and good times.
  20. 3/4 of the teams left look like they are better coached. If you are playing with a coaching deficit, earlier games are easier to win than later games against similar opponents because, coaching. Good coaches watch film (the more the better) find tendencies (again, more film is better) and exploit them. See sweaty cockroach as an example. Well coached teams will figure out our 8 offensive plays and what down and formations indicate. On defense they have learned they can throw deep and often or run the edges. Just watch out for the blitzes coming in from Round Rock or Kyle depending on play direction of course. Maybe kneel the ball on 1st and second so they can get to the 3rd and Orlando money down.
  21. Cheap shots aside, games back in the late 70s to early 80's were something. Cheap shots weren't always penalties back then, things that would get you kicked out of football today. There was no such thing as horse collar, clothesline tackles still took heads off, and who else remembers a UT DB tergeting a ball carrier to the ground and Jerry Gray launching head first like an ICBM and spearing the guy 2 seconds later. No penalties, just how different football was between then and now. And OU didn't get called for holding back then either.
  22. Saban manages staffs like that every year, but not many could effectively handle that. You need giant balls to smother all those egos if you want a high power staff like that. Tom can't even handle the shit eating tweedle dumbs he has, so I would have to say no.
  23. Sweaty cockroach bastard had a few outstanding quotes in that Dave wilson write-up
  24. @jdhorn92 must be the new porta potty girl with this from yesterday What I’m hearing is Bob Stoops as head coach. He’ll bring Venables with hiim as DC, with the idea that Venables assumes the position in a year or two. Briles will stay on as OC if they can’t get Joe Brady from LSU. either that or Allison reads surly
  25. And the way he said it, "you guys think this is some kind of joke, you should know me after 3 years of this. I had to ask who we play, I don't know who we play next week." Ya, either way that's fucked. Being so narrowly focused on a thing to the exclusion of smaller things like who we play an given week, that's not good for the guy in charge. The guy who should be monitoring all aspects of the program to determine who is performing, who is not, what is working, and what is not. Or he's just an immature child. This isn't going to end well, is it?
