  1. Don't be so sure, 2024 is shaping up to be the year of the Baggins. That's 7 years for him to destroy all relationships and build giant holes in the roster despite buying highly ranked classes. That's also the next time the get UGA in conference. In fact, they get Norte dame, LSU, UGA and Ole miss at Kroger, and on the road @Bama, @Barn, @ MSU, and @SCar they could hit FSU levels of dysfunction and start off 2-5. The wheels fall off at that point though they will still get their quality FCS win in November bumping them to 3 wins, the buyout will be a more manageable 22.5M and aggy will look for cause to save that money. I know it's said every year that next year is the one, aggy thinks it's finally their turn to get over the hump, we think it's finally the grand implosion. But 2024 makes so much sense, from the baggins playbook on burning down a program, to the perfect schedule.
  2. I agree with you completely, but being an old I like the thought of regional games that I can ride with tailgate cocktails or puddle jump. We are in the SW center of the hotbed of football. UT, OU, LSU, pig, OSU, TCU, Tech, aggy. That's 8, pick 4 more and make a conference out of it, all for the sake of good matchups within a reasonable distance for travel, every other weekend. Don't want to go to the west coast or Great Lakes to see live games regularly.
  3. **moved from coaching thread for ISU guy because it's more appropriate here I say B12 is dying because it's basically OU and hopefully us rising back up to prominence. There's not another team that would reasonably get the benefit of the doubt in a 4 team playoff. Being the round robin conference (with a CCG) guarantees you can never have more than 1 team in the playoffs. Under the right circumstances every other conference has scenarios where they get more than 1 team in. We have 2 teams who have sniffed a title in recent memory, least amongst power 5s Yes, SEC has the benefit that most teams win the conference and they are in, maybe 2. Recency bias with LSU, UF, AU, and of course Bama, plus fringe teams. B10 has tOSU, UM, and NU blue bloods plus PSU, MSU and whisky that could make playoffs with a good season and winning conference. tOSU got bumped because of urban fatigue and OU has the same pedigree. ACC has recent perennial Clemson and usual suspects in FSU, Miami, VT. They might be the weakest conference outside the top but are playing the 8 conference shell game and haven't missed the playoffs yet. then the PAC. They are dying their own sort of death because USC, Oregon and Stanford can't get their shit together. But they do have UW who has made a few runs. They were the outlier as the P10 with a round robin and figured out they were at a disadvantage and expanded.
  4. Yes B12 is dying, most people know it because it's OU and a UT on the rise and everyone else. Not enough helmet schools. Longer post, moving it to realignment because it belongs there
  5. Agreed that's absurd, but that's how they do it every year. Move to SEC. check schedule 1 OOC game, 2 gimmies and an FCS. Check play only 8 conference games, 4 home, 4 away, all the rest at home. Check take a week off early, take a second week off late (FCS week). Check partake in the artificial raking inflation program promoted by new conference. Check finish tied for 7th in conference. Check bitch about their old conference and how they game the system to their benefit Check. Rollercoasters and decomit season, never change aggy or this thread will die a slow and boring death.
  6. *loose the lose nothing, they are loosing the kraken. It's an 8 armed front 8-0-3 defense with no linebackers and 3 safeties.
  7. NDSU has knocked of ISU, Iowa and Minn over the past 7 years, not sure how a tier 2 powerhouse was built up in the tundra. Good hunting, ok fishing, you can shoot the biggest cannon you have in any direction and not worry about collateral damage... but somehow they have a football power at that level and CK has been a part of that for several years. Seems like a great choice for KSU, I get why you don't like him, or them, but this conference is dying a slow death and this seems like a good addition.
  8. We all know jimbo has a 7+ loss season in him, that's where 2107 FSU was headed after a 2-5 start before he decided to bail. And FSU was a playoff caliber team with top 3 recruiting, yet he still managed to screw that poodle. aggy is the perfect place for him to show his ass, just wondering if he can do it this quickly or if it will take more time to build a completely screwed up roster full of headcases and quitters. I think they have a better than expected year (8-4?) and around year 5 the cart completely derails. Would love to see it happen sooner but Baggins needs more time to piss everyone off and really fuck up his program.
  9. I love how 90% of them think @Clemson is a win. The same team that has gone to 4 straight playoffs and won 1 of them, and is back there again. aggy, the fringe program, might take Bama since it's at Kroger, even though the heisman runner-up is returning and it's Bama. @UGA and @LSU. The thing is, they think they can win most of the games if they return everyone, when actually they would have a better chance if some of those guys move on and their young guys step up. They have bought some talent, there are real holes in the roster, but there's some talent in the lit station.
  10. I agree with you 100%I have seen him play and he's not KP 2.0. We have squints PTSD with QBs from Lake Travis, but we probably would have had better seasons if we had taken any of them since. It will be disappointing if we don't land one of the top backs this cycle, and Sanders/Williams/Cain are the prize but I don't think Glass is a jag
  11. Looking at the roster lists on max preps, it's north shore that really stands out. They hare like 4-5 guys assigned to each number, that crazy. LT has their JV teams suit up and travel to playoffs, makes the team look big but that's not actually the point. The real reason is buy-in and some of those kids even get to play in the early rounds. But NS appears to have a very large number of players, more than Allen by a lot.
  12. Wow, that looks like a terrible hire. He was Stoops DC in kentuckys 2-10, 5-7, 5-7 campaigns, and CUs 5-7 and 5-6 after his predecessors 10-4 season. Who knows how Mel Tucker will fare at CU, but he is a hell of a DC and I wouldn't hire the guy he fired.
  13. Did anyone ever tell 6 figs that the two numbers to the right of the decimal don't really count? He could make it much more mysterious (and truthful) to claim the 1 comma club.
  14. Approximate enrollment numbers Allen--5,100 North shore--4,700 duncanville--4,200 LT--2,700
  15. At NRG, I'll be there. Last trip there was the beating delivered by Katy in the title game a few years ago. Got there early and watched NS beat up westlake. Found a free flowing tap and really only remember I was there because of second hand accounts.
  16. Here's the thing, normally my sarcasm meter would ping but we are talking about aggy. I know a few aggy who are successful and quite bright. Talk about other subjects and they can be intuitive, insightful and hold the other side of intelligent conversation. Good at their respective businesses, they know their shit, even the technical aspects But talk about aggy football and you can Slam that door shut. They know they have holes in the secondary but also think they have filled those gaps with this class and last. Same with LB. they have recruited OL lights out. QB is a team strength. Next year their schedule is tough but that's what you get playing SEC football. 2nd best team in the conference, making up ground on Bama, Saban almost done coaching, once Baggins has all his recruits in they will be king of the mountain. 2020 and beyond, for the foreseeable future. Inevitably UT comes into the conversation and it's like I'm talking to looch himself. They try to be polite and non-condescending but have to bring up how pitiful our schedule was, how there's no defense at all in the B12, and how they thought Herman was a good hire but he's proven he's "not the one". Oh, and Jimbo. Money well spent. Fucking highly regarded. People I know.
  17. I missed this back when, but that's an amazing level of narcissism. Bama.(and OU for that matter) are their primary recruiting rivals. They are not recruiting rivals of 2 of the most blue blooded football programs in the nation, those teams can drop by aggy and take their recruits if they want them Historically around 98% of their recruits come from the state of Texas, and therefore TEXAS is and has been their main recruiting obstacle. This is the first year since Bamas resurrection they have recruited in the same solar system as them and they are still out past the gas giants. We had a decade of top recruiting classes and were supplanted by Bama, but we are back on track to becoming a yearly top 5 which has been proven to be necessary to compete. aggy is and always will be a top 25 class, usually in the top 10-15 with the occasional outlier. There's just too many things wrong with that place for them ever to be a real national power.
  18. "Facilities that would make most NFL teams blush" know how I know he has never been to an NFL stadium or possibly never been to the giant tackle box? Because there is a 0.00% he has been to both with that opinion. unless of course I completely misread and he meant most NFL franchises would blush from embarrassment if their stadium was that mismatched and cobbled together?
  19. Allen won 51-7 and plays duncanville who also won 51-7 North shore won 38-21 and plays LT who also won 38-21. Interesting in a numerical way.
  20. USAA is great, #2 to firemans fund (Allianz, now) dream big, Bru, sanders, Cain trifecta. We are 5 early departures for the 2017 draft away from a MNC contending team, maybe some prospects are taking notice.
  21. He is the quintessential aggy. Insurance salesman, covering the areas of Conroe, spring, cypress, and Katy. State Farm, no less. Sorry for you if that's your carrier, but having had to deal with many of them, they are one of the worst.
  22. Black hole of self awareness, aggy is so fucking embarrassing.
  23. This shit is feeling cultish. Almost joepa territory without the rape. Very weird and i wouldn't blame klieman for staying put since ndsu is the better program as they stand Except he makes around $450k while KSU was paying Snyder 3.45M. Just so people don't have to do maths, that's $3M more than he is making, nearly an 8x pay difference. Making close to 500k a year might be nice, but there's a lot of shitty jobs I would take for 3.5M
  24. And Hill. I don't know either, but since our biggest problems were on defense and 4 of the 5 who left early represent 1/3 of that squad, I would say we are likely 12-1 and sitting in OUs spot.
  25. That he gives us as much as a 5% chance for Wilson is indicative of him talking straight out of his ass. That's the same as saying there's a 5% chance Sam will transfer out to another school for his junior year. unless he's saying there's a chance tOSU will shut down their football program in the next week and force guys to go elsewhere, GW is long gone and typing a spot about him is a wast of bandwidth.
