  1. That side side of recruiting does not happen the way you think it does. Bama keeos getting #1 classes and I can guarantee the school is not writing checks to recruits. Now aggy would be dumb and desperate enough to do something like that, but Baggins has a lot of experience and he has people like Meemaw who organize boosters.
  2. Right. Either way he was 1 yard behind
  3. He wasn't even close to past the LOS.
  4. LOL
  5. She just listed NS coach working his way up through the program, recruiting coordinator?
  6. He is playing chess, obviously. While we find ourselves with both our highly rated 2018 QBs looking at transferring, Baggins is quietly building depth in his QB room by taking guy who won't have options. Power. Moves.
  7. That long run by the little Dville back, NS #42 was in perfect position but the OL just tackled him. Refs seem to be letting them play, though that was egregious.
  8. QB also
  9. 1. UT 2010-2017 2.... too bad they didn't implement this 10 years ago. Otoh, who knows how the dynamics would have shifted if we had been able to pick up a few QBs from the transfer wire, in regards to roster, coaching and AD today
  10. You can cuss on our board, it's ok. Appreciate your takes and completely expect you to be confident in your team, not real fond of posters who come and can't help themselves from spewing SEC this and that bullshit, we don't buy the myth over here. Your most recent middle of the pack acquisitions are doing over there exactly what they did here, if not actually a bit better in your neighborhood. We are eternally grateful for you taking aggy off our hands. Now if you could just figure out you conference scheduling since we play you more often than you play them, well, that would be an improvement.
  11. Quote EJHolland247 32577 posts6 minutes agovia MobileVIP Zach Evans brother told me he was closely watching what Texas did at RB today. They know UT has no depth and absolutely needs to win Zach next cycle. I think that’s going to help. so now the day is over, I can finally reveal all. EJ was truly leaning towards Just An Idiot, but Fucking Liar won out at the end of the day. The last few days really had it looking like he would donn the dunce cap, however the company line was just too much. He's now all in as a Fucking Liar, and he has a head start in the weight room furiously writing bullshit to get clicks for the next 52 weeks regarding Zach Evans. Hes Ketchum lite with whipped cream.
  12. That is interesting, and I'm glad for the 4 we landed, big recruits. The other 2 aren't happening, but in a parallel universe where we do, suddenly Drayton and Meh go from the dog house to the penthouse?
  13. You can watch him play against the best defense in the state on Saturday night on FSSW. I have seen him play several games and he is 100% as advertised. The last HS RB I can remember being as good was probably Cedric Benson or maybe Adrian Peterson.
  14. Shit. Right. Thanks for the correction
  15. Would also stand to reason this staff was recruiting Houston hard while at UH and had some early ins with area recruits last cycle. Isnt Beaty a DFW witch? Or is it just texas in general he's good at recruiting? I'm all for dropping Meh for Beaty (did Tee Martin get a job yet?), Time to shake up the staff a little and get a guy who's going to land Evans while we're at it. McGlothern is an amazing RB and any year would be a great get, but for those who haven't watched Evans play, he's that once a decade guy nationally.
  16. So Lotus is an EJ sock. Good to know.
  17. EJ is such a complete fucking dumbass, so what we all expected is the "worst case" and he hedged that because he's an idiot.
  18. I'm hearing he's 50/50 between liar and just an idiot. He's been trending liar for weeks now, but I have new information that he's heavily leaning towards just an idiot. I cant go into too much detail right now, but after the truth is revealed I will have a tell-all, behind the scenes, hindsight write up letting you all know the truth. Here's a hint though, the cap he will likely put on is tall and conical.
  19. That would all make sense, and I would like to have LSU in our conference.... however, they are a charter member of SEC and would never leave. If for whatever reason SEC decided to drop to 12 i would think mizzou and pig could be candidates to drop.
  20. Fields family consulting attorney to find out if they can turn UGA in and not sit a year? Do they have to give the money back? Lots of legalese to filter through.
  21. Just reading between the lines here. He's a high level recruit with lots of options, doesn't take much of a support system to stay home and play for UT. Going to Stanford is a big get academically and would be much harder to do without having family/friends supporting the decision. The recruiting process has been surreal. Not once did I imagine I’d be in this position, but my support system made it all possible.
  22. How do you get SEC to quit scheduling shitty OOC? At large bids won't do the trick as has been shown with the artificial inflation of their teams from pre-season on. The story line goes something like that conference is so good that they don't have to prove anything outside winning games within their conference. That's even with the abysmal cross conference play where they play teams every 7 years, only 2 cross division games each year. It's a joke, we all know it, and no one really knows how good they are when they rarely play outside their conference and then it's typically a neutral site. I do want more, better OOC games but I don't see much of a path toward that. Everyone else has to beat each other up trying to schedule good OOC games to boost their SoS, and in the end it doesn't matter because more years than not we would get one from each conference and 3 SEC teams. Might as well make CCGs the first round so technically EVERY conference gets 2 teams in including the vaunted SEC. the fact there was even a discussion that UGA should get in over you this year is all the proof you need. They lost their CCG but because they played mightly Bama so close, even though Bama hasn't played anyone out of conference to prove their worth, is just bullshit. And Bama gets the benefit of the doubt because of recent history and their recruiting prowess. I would argue that USC and FSU have been right there with Bama and above UGA recruiting over the past 5 years and look at those teams. By the coaching and recruiting metric, Bama should be undefeated going on 10 years now, but they aren't. Really good team. Best team every year? Who really knows.
  23. Yeah your probably right, didn't think about that. I don't watch NFL at all so wasn't going through that angle. So best case overall would be to have the CCG as the first round so the best 2 from each conference play an elimination then it's on to cross conference play. Eliminate at large, you win you conference or you don't move on.
  24. No I get it, and that's how it's going to work out. And many years they will try to cram 3 SEC teams in. I'm trying to solve for the shitty OOC games that comes when teams are trying to fill the pageant spots, and SEC are the major offenders. If the OOC games didn't matter then teams would schedule a much better slate of games because that's how you get better as a team, not by beating up the sisters of the poor. Consequently, we would be able to better qualify if SEC teams are really that good or not and the importance of rankings would decrease greatly. Basically I would like to see an end to the SECgamed ranking system and have better games to watch along with the expanded playoffs
  25. I could get behind 16 teams if we had 8 legit conferences and round 1 is the CCGs. This really makes the most sense, then it's up to the conferences to figure out how to get their best 2 teams into their CCG. Either that or consolidation and kicking loose a bunch of teams down to 4 P4 conferences. CCGs are the quarterfinals, all teams have to play a full P4 slate. I was struggling earlier to figure out both a clear path and simultaneously diminishing the importance of OOC so we can get good matchups and a better idea of where teams really stand for seeding purposes. At larges almost guarantee nothing changes from a scheduling stand point. Jumping up 2 more power conferences and having 2 at-large solely for the best G5/Indy could work...
