Yeah, Evans isn't worth the money he's going to get. The move that makes the absolute most sense is signing Tee Higgins.

That’s fucking comical. What about either one of those guys’ careers makes you think Tee Higgins is anywhere close to the same value as Evans?

Evans has missed eight games in 10 years, the same as Higgins has missed in four. He’s never had less than 67 receptions or less than 1,000 yards receiving, and with the exception of a couple of years under Brady, has played with average at best QBs and drawn double coverage most of his career. Higgins has played with Joe Burrow and has Jamaar Chase on the other side of him, a real #1 receiver.

Whoever it is that throws a fuckton of money at Higgins, and someone will unless he gets franchised, they’ll be sorry…

I totally understand Slowik and Johnson’s decisions here. When you’re looking at taking your shot with a team like the Commanders or spending another year working with Stroud and Ryans, then getting another shot the following year it just makes sense. If you flame out with one of those dysfunctional franchises you may never get a second chance.

The Washington job has a lot going for it; new owner, shitload of cap space, and 3 picks in the top 44 including 2md overall in a good QB draft. Think what the posters above are saying is more likely the case…

I mean it has a direct result on the outcome of the game. If you think the NFL isn’t going to give the chiefs all the help they can get to get Taylor/more eyes on the Super Bowl you’re insane. It’s not right.

Jesus dude, of all the dumb shit you’ve posted this is right at the top…

I saw The Blair Witch Project there

Lived there as a freshman and can’t count the number of movies I saw there; back then (fall of ‘85) the last daily showings of each movie (only two screens back then) were $1. I saw Weird Science there the night I moved in…

Decent CFB player... but just don't expect his NFL results to warrant him being a 1st Rd top 10 pick.  Dallas Turner just was not a jump off the page dominant player this season.   NFL linemen are gonna maul the guy.  I project him as a 1st Rd bust.

Weren’t you saying the same shit about Will Anderson this time last year?

I'm now seeing Cooper mocked in the 10-20 range, so I don't know if he will be there at 23, but he's a great prospect.  He's 6'1, which is perfect height for a DB, and he looks very fast, can play CB or S, and can return kicks too. Will be interesting to see how his 40 time is at the combine. Depending on how well he grades at the combine, he may be a top 15 guy. Apparently he won some high school track and field competitions in Iowa, which means he's very fast.

Yeah if he’s fully healthy by the combine he’s gonna put up crazy numbers; dude is athletic as hell…

    Updated

    Must sweep (2): WVU

Must split at minimum (2): OU, Tech

Must win at home (3): KSU, UCF, OSU

Need 2 of 3 (2): at TCU, at Cincy, ISU at home

Steal one (1): at KU, at BYU, at and vs Baylor, at and vs Houston

We are going to need to sweep OU instead of WVU and pick up another win in the 'steal one' category to make up for the UCF loss. Not a completely outrageous scenario.

I’m liking the ‘2 of 3’ category to pick up that extra win also…

Regarding WR, I’m torn other than my opinion we shouldn’t pay Evans $20mm per, which is what it probably takes. That would be ~25-30% of our cap room before resigning any of our guys. But otherwise - on the one hand Stroud probably had the “it” factor to make any jabroni look pretty good, and we have Tank and Nico back. So maybe you get someone like Gabe Davis and call it a day. But on the other hand, if someone like Keon Coleman is sitting there at 23, it would be hard to pass. I think in a hypothetical choice of Coleman vs. DeJean or Kool-Aid, I’d have to go DB. Or interior DL or OL worthy of the pick.

I suspect Caserio doesn’t want to spend big coin on WR this offseason.

That’s my guess as well, which is why a Gabe Davis/Marquis Brown type makes more sense if we go the FA route. I just don’t want to keep putting CJ in the position of having to carry the whole load.

I’m a firm believer in BPA in the draft, especially in the first two rounds, but I’m really hoping the BPA in round 1 ends up being a DB (I really like DeJean but would but fine with any of 3-4 guys) or the DT from Illinois. I wouldn’t cry over Coleman but if it ended up being an offensive player I’d prefer them being on the line….

Rejoice, lords and ladies!  If you can get to one of Bennigan's locations in [checks listings...] Monahans or Borger, you can still get Steak and Ale's finest!

Fucking tossup as to which of those towns is a bigger shithole but I’ll give the crown to Monahans because Borger had some hot sluts on their volleyball team like 40 years ago…

People are sleeping on Nico. He's not Justin Jefferson or DeeDee Lamb, but he's a fine WR1. There are far more important areas to upgrade.

He’s fine and assuming Dell comes back healthy he’s a weapon, but there’s a massive drop off beyond that. WR is definitely in need of at least one more quality piece, especially given the lack of a consistent running game…

I used to love reading SI in the back of our station wagon as dad drove us to home from Steak & Ale, with a brief stop at Service Merchandise, before picking up a video at Blockbuster.

Steak & Ale? Was the wait too long at Sambo’s?

Awesome; I caught that on the replay as well. He throws his arms up as soon as the ball goes in the air…

I would like to see them re-sign Derek Barnett too, he's been a great addition to the DE position.

Yeah Barnett has been solid and would like to bring him back as well; have to think you could get him at a reasonable rate. Agree on Cashman’s injury tendency, but he’s stellar in coverage when he’s available. If you can get him in the $4-$5MM range that goes above water after year 2 I think he’s worth the gamble. Effort and talent are definitely there….
