For Houston at #23, two names I like if they fall are Cooper DeJean and Amarius Mims.

DeJean can play all five (or six) DB spots, and can be elite at the inside ones; imagine what DeMeco and company could do with him?

If Mims wasn't injured for most of the year, there's a chance he'd be in the discussion as a top five pick; obviously that's risky, but there could be some hidden value to go with the risk. You play him at RT and play mix and match inside

Of everyone who could realistically be there at #23, the only player I would take over DeJean is Keon Coleman and I don’t believe the mocks that have him available that’s late. I think CDJ would be an absolute baller in this scheme…

Not sure who is more correct but are they gonna argue over less than 2 million?  Will be good for him to be making at least 5 though.

Seems unlikely it’ll actually go to arbitration; we haven’t had that happen in 24 years, and to your point in baseball terms the difference is nothing….

Love all y’all but some of y’all got some serious amends to make towards Sting & Tunsil.

I know he’s been injured, but Myles Garrett was a non-factor working against LT. Dude gets mad respect everywhere but this thread…

The cherry on top is that this Cleveland loss will really help our 1st round pick this year. Should be in the low 20s. The win for the Texans makes the trade to get WAJ even better.

The worst our pick from Cleveland can be now is #24; if Dallas and/or Detroit lose, is would get that many picks better. We will have no lower than #25, so ultimately giving Arizona our #1 instead of Cleveland’s in the draft-day trade to pick Will Anderson ended up being the right move…

I went to a Vikings game late last year and saw absolutely no obviously stupid fan behavior.

I hadn't been since 2014, and that day the first thing I encountered were 2 guys in Zubaz who had passed out and pissed themselves next to the elevator.  It was night and day.

It’s the same as people saying large cities are dangerous who never go to one. I’ve been to at least 40 NFL games as a visiting fan over the course of my life and have had zero incidents.

    Don’t start no shit….

Definitely a risk hiring a HC who’s never even been a coordinator, but he’s been respected as a leader/future coach material since he came into the league, much like DeMeco Ryans. Not the greatest situation for a first timer replacing a dude with six titles; at the same time, it’s probably a better situation to walk into than whoever Carolina hires is going to inherit…

Not sure. Patriots are pretty bare talent wise.

Now that Cal McNair has stopped following Jesus Easterby and letting his (apparently very capable) wife call the shots, Carolina has the worst owner in the league. OTOH, whatever you think of Kraft he has to be 100% on board with this, so you’ve got to think Mayo gets more patience with growing pains than he would from any other owner…

  7. So if the victim knew that this ‘routinely’ happened, why the fuck did she decide to get in the car with the obliterated chick driving in the first place? Maybe because she was every bit as fucked up? Drunk or sober, people who drive like assholes determine their own fate.

    Ain’t that America….

  9. Too lazy to look upstream so I’m sure this point has already been made, but if our program gets to where we all want it to be we’re going to be dealing with this shit on an annual basis. You can argue that we shouldn’t be losing someone to a lateral move, but it doesn’t change the fact that if we’re a top 3 program, we’re going to be cycling through position coaches / coordinators every year…

The Kenyon Green pick has been a disaster so far. Taking an OG that early should almost means that player should be a perennial Pro Bowler, instead he's been a bust and injured. We'll see if he figures it out but I'm not optimistic.

Hey man, it could have been worse - we could have used #3 on Evan Neal. Nobody would have complained at the time, but he’s going to struggle to even make the Giants’ roster next year…

Completely depends on who the new ownership group is. Cal and Hannah are running the day to day operations, while the other 3 kids don't appear to be involved. In the past, some of the failed NFL ownership bids by big names have been Jeff Bezos (tried to buy the Commanders) and the Manning family (Broncos, lost to Waltons), have been in the mix. Mark Cuban just sold the Mavs, so he could potentially move down I45 and buy the Texans instead, but I don't know if the NFL owners would want to deal with him. Someone with infinite funding like Bezos isn't all that attractive as an owner, since the NFL doesn't have luxury tax like the NBA and MLB do. You can't overspend your way to a championship like the Dodgers or Warriors try to do every year.

It would be great to get someone local who cares about the city, but I'm not sure how many billionaires around here would want an NFL team. I do wonder if Cal will have an option to retain his stake in the team while the other 3 kids sell theirs, if the sale is forced on Janice, but it's a sticky situation and will take a few years to work out.

I would love for Mark Cuban to own an NFL franchise….

I don’t believe all of these players came from Cleveland’s picks, we only have one 2024 1st rounder from Cleveland, and Will Anderson also cost us our own #33 in 2023 and our 2024 1st rounder.

The more (but not exactly) accurate sum of the trade is Houston gave up Watson and #33 in 2023 for Kenyon Green, Will Anderson, and John Metchie.  Shitty trade if not for shitbag Watson being injured or suspended the whole time.

Hindsight is 20/20; the Browns have played better with Joe Flacco than DW at any point.

Would anyone in the league trade Will Anderson straight up for Deshaun Watson right now?

Any ideas on game time?  I’m hoping Sunday night or Monday night.  Going hunting Thursday and won’t be back until Sunday afternoon.

We have never played anything but the early Saturday game in the first round, I don’t see that changing this year…

Steichen has done a great job this year in Indy. Feels like a toss-up game to me.

This is where I am. If we win the turnover, sack, and penalty battles we’ll win the game. No matter what, great experience for the young guys and the coaching staff. We’re playing with house money - fuck it, let your nuts hang!

I want to see onside kicks where the kicking team just rockets the kick into the front line hoping to get a bounce back.

It was completely inadvertent, but that exact kind of kickoff is what started the Oilers’ collapse against Buffalo on 1993. Kicking off after going up 35-3 Al Del Greco mis-hit the ball and it drilled one of their frontline guys right in the chest and ricocheted to the side. We missed two chances to recover it, they fell on it, Don Beebe scored eleven touchdowns in 4 minutes, and the rest is history…
