More like take your Astros taunt and shove it up your ass because not only did you winning the West not matter, we went right through you to win the World Series.

And by ‘right through you’ he means you motherfuckers had two games at home to win one and got fucking thumped…

I remember when Dave Hostetler was an absolute home run crushing legend...for about a week. That hype died off fairly quickly.

22 homers his rookie year and I think 20 of them probably happened his first 40 games in the majors. Had a similar career arc to Joe Charboneau of the Indians, whose claim to fame was he could drain a can of beer (using a straw) with his nose…

I was going to speak to something similar last night, but I didn't want to ruin the vibe.

As a poor growing up, we rarely got to see the Rangers in person or on TV.  Hell, I recall one of my earliest "great" sports moments was a night in which the Rangers/Red Sox were on national TV.  I think Clemens was pitching.  We were down 2-0 in the 8th.  Someone hit a 2 run homer in the 8th; someone else a 2-run homer in the 9th.  (One of them may have been Geno Petralli.) Point I meant to make was that I listened over 90% of the Ranger games during a 10 year period from about age 7 -

Believe the game you’re thinking of was a mid-August game on the old Monday Night Baseball in 1986. Petralli was one of the homers and Ruben Sierra the other; I believe in that order but might have it backward…

The Apple Turnover game. Son of a bitch. Brutal.

I think my favorite part of that debacle was when the punter, and I cannot remember his name, goes out to punt to David Allen. I don't know if anyone in the past few decades has caught up to Allen, but if memory serves, he was the greatest punt returner of all time. If he wasn't, it didn't take time to call roll.

Anyway, everyone in the stands and watching on tv assumed/knew that there was no fucking way Texas was going to kick it to Allen. Punt it out of bounds, right?. Nope. The fucking punter launches a missile at Allen. Outkicks the coverage by a mile. Allen, artist that he was, weaves his way to a TD, predictably.

When the kick launched, you could hear a collective groan from the crowd. This was 1999, the same season in which we opened by losing the only game Texas has ever played against North Carolina State by allowing three punt blocks. Poor Corey Redding. Poor us. So, yeah, Mack really had things going with those special teams back then.

That was the one and only time I ever heard Mack throw anyone under the bus, and it was well deserved. Post-game comment was “We told our punter to kick the ball out of bounds and the for some unknown reason he goes right out there and kicks the ball right down the middle of the field to David Allen’….

Didn’t agree with using Burke so soon. Don’t know if those potential injury replacements travel with the team or if he had to hop a plane last night or this morning, but that’s a quick turnaround from off the roster and tossing bullpens every few days to in the World Series.  Don’t see a reason not to give Bradford the 8th also.

but since all that did happen, and he didn’t want to use Stratton for the 9th, I actually was ok with will smith for the experience and then leclerc for their big 3 righties to make sure.

im sure jose will go again tomorrow if the opportunity is there, just hope he has it on a third day.

Pretty sure they’ve been with the team the whole time; I saw Duran in the dugout last night…

  7. Man, we need to win 2 games out of a maximum of 4. Adolis is a big part of the team offensively and defensively, but he’s still one guy, who honestly is probably due for a bit of a slump, at least at the plate. Scherzer probably would give us a max of 5 innings the rest of the year even if he’s 100%, and even that wouldn’t happen until a Game 7.

I’m not arguing we wouldn’t be better off without both of those dudes healthy, but the notion that we’re fucked because of these developments is, itself, fucked.

Keep the faith motherfuckers; these dudes thrive on instability….

I did not watch, nor even follow the Rangers this year until going to some game in August (maybe?)… I think that it was a Sunday and I know that we won. I learned that the pitch clock had made the game watchable again. We also hit home runs. Other than Seager, I didn’t know one player on the Rangers, but I started paying attention to the standings.

…and we started slumping to the point that it looked like we wouldn’t make the playoffs.

Then Scherzer got hurt and we started winning again.

He may have been our best pitcher, but he brought bad Mets ju-ju to Arlington.

”Bull Durham” taught the casuals that if you think that you are on a streak because of _________, then you are.

Now his production in the postseason since turning 38 is plain as day. He didn’t give up a run in 3 innings last night, but that was due to luck and luck in the 2nd.

One of my best friends since grade school, who named his boy after a Rangers Baseball Hall of Famer, and who has lived in DC for 2+ decades absolutely loves Scherzer because back when he was 35 he was nails for the Nationals. 🤷‍♂️

I will go on record to say that “I would LOVE for 35 year-old Scherzer to pitch for the Rangers in this World Series.”

I just don’t want 39 year-old Scherzer to ever see the mound again this year.

You should roll yourself back to July mode…

Shoutout to the fat black guy not wearing a shirt that is shown at least 30 times a game with his titties bouncing all over the place.

Hah and to the Pippie Longstocking chick with her titties bouncing all over the place who was also show at least 30 times. At least twice she moved her hair out of the way of her jugs….

  10. D played solid all day, but couldn’t get off the field when we really needed it. Not getting any points out of that last offensive drive was a killer.

In the end, the offense is going to need to more weapons to get more consistent. Some of that will come with more experience for our young guys and some through another offseason of FA/draft. Frustrating loss today but we need to learn from it and bounce back next week against the Bucs…

I deserve the scary good jokes but I'm also entitled to collect receipts at the end of the season if we make the CFP.

That is to say - y'all don't bite off more than you can chew, now.

Don’t you have the receipts right now?
