Sure, but it's still dumb. If travel costs are that much of a burden, then just play all three games at the higher seed's gym.

This is what MLB does in round 1, and they don’t give a flying fuck about travel costs…

Because it increases the incentive to shoot for those numbers, when there will actually be game situations when trying to hit a homer or trying to hit a single is not in the best interest of winning.

I'm honestly very surprised the NFL allows incentives on stuff like passing yards or passing TDs.  That could put a QB nearing those bonuses in a bad position.

Yeah that makes sense, although in the age of analytics the whole idea of move a runner over, don’t swing with a slow-pitch softball uppercut, etc, has kind of gone out the window. In the days when the shift was (rightfully) allowed you should have been able to pay bonuses for laying down a bunt to a wide-open left side of the infield. Probably wouldn’t have paid out more than $500…

You can also get them for certain high-level achievements, which seems kind of inconsistent. Why can you pay a bonus for winning the MVP but not hitting 50 homers or batting .350?

Yeah that shit was fucking annoying as hell with the senior year NYD hangover... Thank god it was mostly fucking done in the first half as we boat raced them so bad in the 3rd quarter they essentially stopped.

So awesome watching Ricky cap his career by consistently trucking those fuckers…

I listen to Craig while I watch every game.

The over the air radio broadcast is only a few seconds behind the TV so I just pause the game when the ball is kicked until the radio catches up. Sometimes it takes a play or two to get it perfectly synced up.

OTA radio is behind TV? I don’t live in an area where I can get the radio broadcast OTA but seems like it would be ahead…

beisbollers pls explain why the stolen base is so significant that 50hr/50sb (or 40/40) is such a big deal?

is it merely the fact that power and speed are contradictory traits that its rare to see a player achieve both? because the sb itself doesnt seem that valuable...? home run obviously is a crowd pleaser and guaranteed 1+ scores.  but a stolen base alone isnt that spectacular or valuable?  50sb means you gain 1 extra base for every 3 games.

if we're making arbitrary round-number combos, seems to me like .350BA/50HR would be a more impressive benchmark.  (achieved 6 times, 3 by babe ruth)

So by your own admission the ‘more impressive’ benchmark has occurred more frequently than 50/50…

You were fortunate to catch ou instead of us for that game. Honestly texas and ou had better arguments based on regular season loss comparison, but we couldn’t both be conference champs.  Not that I’m still bitter over how that transpired or anything.

We would have rolled fucking Florida that game. We were the best team in country in 2008…
