Thanks y’all. Swear I have the worst luck with this shit.

There are a fuckton of tickets on SeatGeek/StubHub that are designated for delivery day-of; I know 3 different people in the same position you’re in. You’ll get the tix….

At the Metallica show my granddaughter wanted a bag of skittles, a bottle of water, popcorn, and I added a Pepsi. $49 to have it delivered to our seat. The popcorn seems to have been popped during Quincy Carter’s reign, the skittles bag was about double the size of what you get at Halloween.

The fact that there are granddaughters at Metallica shows makes me feel incredibly old. I saw them in Odessa in 1983 and there were maybe 10 women total in a crowd of 10K….

We're leaving Dallas Thursday night, spending the night in Vicksburg so I can hit the craps tables, then pressing to T-Town on Fri morning. We're staying at the Hampton Inn there.

Are you in the University area Hampton inn in the East Tuscaloosa one?

Yes, any experience with them?   I'm assuming it will be bama fans plus me but would be excited about it if it was even 10% Longhorns.  Would you recommend driving and parking versus the shuttle.  I'm not a fan of driving after games here but I'm guessing Tuscaloosa is no Austin.

No direct experience but have several co-workers who have done it (I live in Atlanta) and say it’s a well-run, professional setup, usually with a decent amount of visiting fans. I’m 80% I’m doing the shuttle myself…

Staying in Birmingham and found a shuttle that will pick up either at the sheraton downtown or at John Hawkins Pkwy.  Anyone know if there would be Longhorns at either location?

Is it through Southern Sports Tours?

2009 UTEP was just about as brutal as the Bama game. Only difference was you could go back to your tailgait in the 2nd quarter after that poor UTEP punter got pulverized.

This is the one that gets my vote, though I’ll also give an honorable mention to the aforementioned Stanford ‘99 game as well as Syracuse ‘93 (the last tie in Longhorns history)…

I bet next season we will have to adjust the band setups for both the Home and visiting bands, IE the visiting band will be moved down from the nosebleed section.    The SEC supposedly has a set of rules governing this.

The SWC did as well. I was able to significantly upgrade my seats without a huge jump in LF donation back in 96 when we joined the B12 and we started sticking most of the visitor section in the upper deck…

I was told that the author had “loosely based” access and was highly opinionated. I digress and never read it.

It’s kind of like being a Cowboys fan and not agreeing with the movie “North Dallas 40”.

    Hook’em!!!

You have been grossly misinformed; Meat On The Hoof was a work of non-fiction written by a scholarship athlete who played under Royal, and was a member of the team over whom this thread was started. That’s not ‘loosely based’, he wrote what he saw and expressed his opinions about it. It infuriated a lot of people who thought DKR and Frank Medina could do no wrong, but he was there and we weren’t.

North Dallas Forty was never billed as anything other than fictional, even though the author based much of it on his actual experience as a Cowboys receiver. Neither of this were written by someone with ‘loosely based’ access…
