  1. I'm amazed that the old University Junior High/ School of Social Work hasn't been torn down a long time ago. I think it sat empty for some time after it's UJH days. Even if they took rec sports and UJH would that be enough room?
  2. I'll be interested to see how the new OU ticket scheme works out. I'm guessing that we will get to choose our seats in the same fashion that we do updates to our seating preferences. And count yourself lucky, I'm in for $12,960 this year.
  3. It's under video review.
  4. Would have been good for my headstone if I had died at 24.
  5. Seems he has fully embraced the philosophy then.
  6. "Any attack on my character is bulls---," Harsin said. "None of that is who I am." So, does anyone have any idea about Scientology? Is it like Islam where you can say anything you want to an "infidel" and it doesn't count as a lie?
  7. Not an issue, when you're the guy that can grab them and point them where you like.
  8. By the time you get to side piece "wanting more" from the relationship haven't you pretty much crossed that river a long time ago? Over the years I've seen exactly one guy get away with having an affair, and in that case I think she knew and just put up with it. I love women, but I'm really happy to have just the one and not worry about getting the "Phil Hartman" treatment.
  9. I wonder how that vacation is going. Any chance he is out on a private cruise and can throw wife's iPhone into the Caribbean or the Med? Pretty much the only scenario I can come up with to salvage the VaCa.
  10. She thought she was "Spouse in waiting".
  11. Isn't "hitting the portal" what started this?
  12. Isn't that so they can get a sheep's hind leg in each boot so they don't get away?
  13. There are clearly large swaths of people that don't see the world through the same lens that I do, and some of those people are architects.

Good catch, I was originally thinking it was Jose Cuervo code.

Don't be dissn' the Kerby lane pancakes!
  16. This has a lot of potential for my personal enjoyment. I'll now have another team to watch, just to see how he does. I'll pull for him to play well, if that means corn gets a game winning drive or two that they wouldn't have had otherwise then okay. But what I really want to see is 1. Casey comes in and they improve. 2 Corn starts to think they have turned the corner and give Frost an extension. 3. Casey leaves and they cash right back to where they were. There are other variations that would entertain me. But I believe this would be my favorite.
  17. I hear they own some property around Junction, this time instead of running off in the middle of the night they can hit the transfer portal.
  18. Tom Herman fired one year ago today! I was guilty of buying in to the false hype when he was hired, but ever so happy to see him go.
  19. I know of a guy (second hand), a pilot. He took a job to fly a plane he didn't have a rating for, that's okay the new boss was going to pay for it. So he convinces boss to give him the money directly and he would pay the training center, well he decides to skip the training and keep the money ($105K or so). Now he needs a First Officer, not required that the FO has a full type rating, but he does need a Second in Command or SIC training. He decided to skip that part too and get the Helicopter guy that works for the same boss to sit right seat. This all comes to light when... they abort a takeoff and run the airplane off the end of a runway. Now he's facing time in the graybar hotel, as is the FO. Not to mention answering to the boss as to where the cash went and why the insurance company isn't wanting to pony up to fix the jet. Instead of facing the music, both guys double down. They steal the boss's helicopter which was last seen flying south, way south. All that is just to say I STILL don't think that's as stupid or whack as Antonio Brown.
  20. I'm part of the minority that liked the bowl system with it's tie-ins and kinda liked the BCS era better than this. But, we are where we are. I can see two factors that will drive this train toward more teams in the playoffs and they have a lot more to do with money than with the quality of play. 1. The minor bowls appear to be dying (and not just of Covid). Making them part of the playoff system would make them relevant and likely more profitable. 2. The opting out phenomenon only started after the playoff format began. Any bowl that wasn't a playoff bowl was no longer worth the risk/effort for the top players on many teams. This is also less likely for expanded playoffs. On the down side it will even further dilute the value of the regular season. At least with only 4 teams you have a pretty low chance of a two loss team claiming a NC.
  21. I'm curious, since the NCAA defines you as a booster if you have donated or bought season tickets for any sport did that make me an "idiot booster" or is there some threshold within the Longhorn foundation (top 10%?) or some monetary limit (half a million, a million?) where you automatically become an idiot? Perhaps the real idiots call others names on message boards and don't have the financial wherewithal or generosity to donate. Besides, isn't it the cry of keyboard warriors that ALL of the donors inherited their wealth. No chance they were smart enough and hard working enough to become donors. Someone on here pointed out that WVU's stadium looked inferior to a number of H.S. stadiums in Texas, that's what you get without "idiot donors".
  22. And yet they negate each other.
  23. I ended up with a Dallas Cowboy as a neighbor at that time. He was a rookie in Jimmy's last year, and they would usually have a party on Monday night ( I assumed to watch MNF). Seemed like the party would knock off sometime around midnight to 1:00 AM (at least that was when you'd hear a bunch of cars cranking up and driving away). About 3 weeks after Barry hits town, the dynamic changes. The parties were multiple times a week and most of the time they are still at it when I'd get up for a morning run or going to work. I found it pretty amusing how quickly the partying changed. I knew the play on the field would reflect the off field difference over time, I was a little surprised how long they kept it together. Must have been the "Aikman effect".
