  1. My first RRS in person was 1980, the 75th meeting. I've gone when I can, jobs and family have kept me from a few. I'll be on the 50 yard line this year and only going because my daughter (the UT freshman, and no I'm not posting pictures for you monkeys) is in town and we are going as a family. Otherwise, I don't remember being less invested. I will enjoy being with my family, I'll enjoy being at the only game I'll attend in person this year. If we win I'll enjoy it. If we lose, I'll figure it's one step closer to dumping Tom and yes I'll enjoy that. I thank him for taking us out of the Charlie Strong era, but I no longer believe he's the guy.
  2. Put them in the same sentence when Tom has a run of 10 win seasons and a NC.
  3. While I'm now off the Herman bandwagon, I didn't jump off it with the same zeal I used to jump off the Strong bandwagon!
  4. That's true, but even then we lost focus on D in the 4th.
  5. That's getting to be as regular as Charlies "we just have to play better".
  6. While correct, we pay several million dollars a year to guy to keep young guys focused, when was the last time you thought we were focused? Seems to only happen when we are major underdogs in a bowl game with a month to prepare.
  7. I apologise for upsetting anyone with my previous post. My intent is not political, but focus related. An old saying of what you focus on expands is relevant. We spent large parts of an already fractured Spring (where we are installing a new O AND and new D) by spending large amounts of time NOT focused on football. It should almost be a surprise that we look as good as we do. Again, nice use of the spring...NOT!!
  8. You say that like it's a bad thing.
  9. If we win the SJW award will we put that up in the stadium? Nice use of the spring, NOT!!!
  10. Even taking the craziness of 2020 into account, I have heard time seeing us as number 9 in the country with our level of play.
  11. So, if a swimmer wins a race but has awful form, that's supposed to be a good thing? Pretty sure Coach Reese would think not.
  12. I'm not that surprised, this loss started in the Spring. Everyone had a fractured Spring, but we spent a bunch of it being more interested in making demands, holding hands and doing marches. What you focus on expands and we were NOT FOCUSED ON FOOTBALL. Maybe we will get an award for best feel good off season, but you have to decide what you want. Nice job Herman!
  13. So let's say this happens and Sam ends up in Cleveland. If the guy starting in front of you is a douche, and said douche goes out and throws the game away. Is it considered bad form to tell your teammate "take the loss, pussy"?
  14. 1969- Texas-49 Tech-7 For the next 40 years I would only miss 6 home games. I think it was 5 or 6 years before I would be present for a loss.
  15. So when the Giants said we're going to trade you, where do you want to go, did they really understand the answer?
  16. Odd, I thought "competitive advantage" in OU speak normally meant "cheat your ass off".
  17. I must be in great shape, I currently have long term friends from both sides of the political fence that are no longer talking to me! One friend is apparently pissed at me because I dared to say that "watching 3 YouTube videos and reading 3 google articles doesn't put you on par with a Virologist that has spent 30 years in the field". Another was offended when I mentioned I was a Bio major at UT at one point and learned enough to have some grip on how much I don't know. Oh, and then I pointed out that he was RTF.
  18. Well yeah, for another $50!
  19. Waste water testing is a great idea, but I just put it on my list with roofing and bank teller of jobs I don't want.
  20. What do you mean "hah" that's gonna be the cornerstone of my weekend, and I'll be praying for overtime!
  21. Our weapons for treatment and suppression will continue to improve. It probably won't be like "flipping a switch" and everything goes back to pre-covid ops, but a vaccine will definitely be a big turning point. At the point we have a vaccine, some immunity, and some good therapy options this particular lion won't look so big.
  22. Yes, it was pretty amusing to see the fellow alcoholics defend the drunk Tech fan, are you AA buddies with him?
  23. Which sounds like a way to get a spike, which sounds like a way to CX the rest of the season.
  24. Talk about your 99% assumption.
