  1. Because of the "massive recruiting advantage" it supposedly would give us. I think it's an idea pushed by Aggy, the same ones that said no one was watching.
  2. Stopped reading at "powerful truths".
  3. I probably just wasted my time, but it's parking selection day. So I went ahead and bought parking for the season. I would imagine I'll get all or part of that back in about 6 weeks. But WTH, if by some miracle we have spectators in the stands I'll have a place to park. They seem to be pressing on as normal except for the seating selection part of the drill.
  4. The conspiracy nuts just seem to get joy from their lunacy. The media is grossly incompetent. They have neither the brain power nor the desire to dig deep enough to properly explain anything even remotely this technical or complicated. They are happy to have their story match some narrative they believe in and leave it at that. I've spent my life in a field that is technical, but it's not magic. When a story hits the media from my field it's usually cringeworthy, and it's usually because they just didn't bother to get it right.
  5. It would be worth a phone call. If they cancel the season, they may call you!
  6. The athletic department has been sending me personalised videos and phone calls from assistant coaches telling me how much they appreciate me (my money). So I'm thinking they are softening up the beach head for the -season cancelled, but-"We will give you double (triple) loyalty points if you let us keep your Foundation donation".
  7. Yeah, I'm on a real spelling roll. Multi-tasking isn't being good to me.
  8. Can you imagine the ramifications if a coach was getting his team sick on purpose and one of them died or had some lung scaring issue. I would think you could end up in the gray bar hotel.
  9. Okay, I couldn't help myself. I signed their keep Sully petition, as Hugh Janus.
  10. Yes I screwed up my spelling, but you screwed up who you were talking about. I'm not the one who said 99.9, I was the one questioning when you think a vaccine is okay. So which one of us screwed up worse?
  11. In which case you're up to a multi-part series!
  12. Well, it's not a Disney movie. Welcome to real life, we will learn more with every passing day, and some of that will mean we were wrong about what we thought about it before.
  13. Just got my "parking selection" email. So they are pressing on as long as they can.
  14. You still miss my meaning. Going with the broad brush is no more correct than what Aggy does. Site as many individuals as you wish, but the vast majority of their Alumni have been told nothing but the fiction from the day set foot on the place. If you go with "First learned is best learned" that's what they believe. I walked by Simkins and any other number of buildings every day for years, spent a good bit of time in RLM heads down in a calculus book. Not once did I give any thought to whom these people were or what they did. I'm willing to give most of their rank and file the same benefit of the doubt. Racist is tossed around WAY too much, but since I had classes in RLM and never fought against it, I'd be a racist by the definition of some.
  15. Honest question for you, how are you going to define that the vaccine is safe (for you) or not? You know that somebody is going to say "My joints now hurt, my hearing isn't as good, I used to like coffee" or some anecdotal thing that may or may not be related, but will be carried with great fanfare by some form of media that has an agenda. I am pondering the answer for myself and my family. The actual delima is one of timing, Wait long enough for proof on the vaccine and you will likely end up with the disease and it's possible harms.
  16. Again with the broad brush, they may not be racists. They live and die by their traditions, the ass ugly statue has been a part of that. Why would we think they would be any better educated about the actual history of Sul Ross than they are about anything else.
  17. If I were USF I would wait for Texas to call the cancelation on the first game. They likely will get some cash out of us, or something favorable in the way of a reschedule. We already paid for their head coach for a few years, so they are familiar with being in our wallet. IIRC that game is Sept 5th, I can't see them waiting much past early August to make a decision.
  18. "Free Shots on Saturday afternoon"!
  19. In the stands I could see going 50% capacity and keeping distancing with masks on. I could even see a case for the people in the individual suites, if they filter the air for each suite individually. However, If you have one guy on either team that has it, then it's likely both teams would have it by the end of the game. Are we 100% sure that none of the kids has an underlying vulnerability? I think they are all great physical specimens, but I wouldn't bet the mortgage money that not a single one of them would get complications and die. I was a wait and see guy last month, but I'm pretty pessimistic now.
  20. I don't know they alternate between rape, murder, and animal torture. each with a dose of denial or aggy like deflection. I've lost count of which one of the three is up next.
  21. Wish him the best. No place is for everybody and I NEVER want anyone playing for Texas that isn't all in. It's locker room cancer.
  22. Couldn't be worse than Charlie, already on the payroll. Not saying i'm in, but I'm listening.
  23. While not convinced he was the man, I'm an optimist. I've tried to be optimistic about all of them. With the loss to a mediocre at best TCU team, the Iowa St. game and now the total lack of focus this Spring I have lost my faith in the Herman regime. God how I'd love to have him prove me wrong. But I'm already wondering who we need to hire next.
  24. He could have blown up the building and it wouldn't have made it any worse than having Charlie as coach.
