  1. Yep, had three ventures into that part of the graph (slow learner). I think no restraining order was the way to go, 40 years ago that would have just been fuel on the fire. I had some degree of fear that the last one in the sequence would show up at my wedding if she got wind of it.
  2. Give her points for being bold, and good on you 1. you didn't take the bait. 2. You obviously left something of an impression, yeah an impression.
  3. Donn's is still there? Wow. I have a few blurry memories that involve Donn's, Touche's on 6th and Katz's or Cisco's. I believe it was around the time I discovered that I actually needed some sleep if I wanted to function the next day. What was the place on the corner to the west of Touche's? was it the Oasis?
  4. Wasn't Club Foot previously a meat processing plant and the high sidewalk the old loading dock? Also, at this point in my life I look back at similar situations and thank God almighty I didn't end up married to a woman that blames me for everything (every other thing I can tolerate, everything... nah)
  5. I thought he was shredding the volleyball chick.
  6. Maybe it's changed a bit, but as recent as 20 years ago the mom had to nearly be a hard core drug user/violent offender to lose custody in Dallas county. I knew of a case where the mom was really whack (abducted by space aliens, talked to the rocks, flat earth, drug user, and my favorite, bought expensive billboards all over DFW (with her picture on them) for what was essentially a phantom business.) the dads lawyer told him it was far from a slam dunk. Everybody bought a break when Miss whack job decided she didn't want the kids. Last I heard she still calls the kids on their birthdays and leaves them voicemails telling them about space aliens. In fairness to the dad, she was smoking' hot.
  7. I'm of the opinion that the Patterson-Strong-Plonsky troika could have found a way to COMPLETELY screw up NIL for Texas had it been around at the time. Even thinking about it makes me feel like I've got covid.
  8. What was the place off of south Congress? I think it used to be the convention center for a defunct hotel. Maybe the Terrace hotel? Caught Robert Palmer there. Foreigner at the Paramount when they were trying to get it restored. Man it was in bad shape back then.
  9. Look again, if aggy is involved it might be under "Gentleman's sausage".
  10. Didn't certain contract traveling along at about $10mm a year already obliterate it?
  11. Call it whatever you want. just keep them coming!
  12. Especially if they did lobby hard to get it as home game!
  13. I'll probably just stick with watch Texas HS state championships on Bally SW. I went to AT&T a couple of days ago and watched Div 1&2 6 man games, didn't have the time to stay for the first 11 man game, but it's always a blast. (never been to a 6 man game before, interesting to watch) If you are ever in the DFW area while this is going on, it's fantastic! $25 gets you the closest parking and $20 tickets to get in (all three games that day if you have the time). Every player on every team leaves it all on the field and it shows.)
  14. Just don't understand the chest tattoo. The picture on the lower right. If she's wearing that top, she already has my attention. IMG_1493.heic
  15. To make the crowd happy, Galindo will be replaced with Beth Mowins and Dusty Dvoracek.
  16. This ranks right up there with "We have to pass the bill to see what's in it".
  17. In all good pirate stories, the pirate disappears. I can think of no greater tribute to the man and his work than the fact that he did such a good job, that even in off years you couldn't feel comfortable about playing a Mike Leach coached team. He worked some magic and did it with style (crazy pirate, say the first though that comes into your head style).
  18. If a guy (even a known boyfriend) is in a daughter's room in my house at 2:00 A.M. and let's throw in that my daughter saying "No,no!" The boy in question would be very lucky indeed if all I did was choke him out.
  19. I've suddenly discovered I'm a Raiders fan this Thursday!
  20. It changed my life, I can think of 4 life changing situations in my past where I didn't give up because of what I learned from that game. I can truly say I wouldn't be where I am today because of those guys. My Dad started taking me to games with the '69 season. Killed Tech 49-7 then I think it was Navy next and it was something like 56-6. It was incredible. Then for the Arky game I'm sick and running a fever, had to watch from a fold out couch in my parents den. As Texas continued to turn over the ball (6 times that day if I recall correctly), I felt worse and worse. Oddly after it was over I was feeling much better! Went with my dad down to south Congress to pick up the deer meat he had processed. It always sounds like an exaggeration but it was my fist time to see people dancing on the sidewalks and in the streets.
  21. Texas 15 Arkansas 14 What a glorious day!
