  1. This works for me. I also pull for any team playing against any team with Aaron Rodgers or Baker Mayfield if I happen across it, but if I miss all of the NFL season I don't care. I will be at every home game plus OU at a minimum. I just upped my level of devotion, I got tired of renting cars every time so I bought a beater car that will live down there.
  2. At the risk of interrupting English Grammar 301, I will put forward that while I dislike 11:00 A.M. kickoffs. I truly hate when they exercise their option to decide the start time on Tuesday (I think it's Tuesday, maybe it's Wednesday). When they do that, it makes it a real pain to get a plan in place for Hotel and travel. For games like 'Bama I just go ahead and book a hotel about a year out and reserve 3 days. I know the money talks, but I doubt the networks would have balked if the conferences would have insisted on two weeks or ten days notice.
  3. That's a Patterson thing, I had "grandfathered" seats when that jackass started this policy. It kind of pissed me off but on his list of crimes this one probably doesn't even get halfway up the list.
  4. Creepy, but still not as creepy as the original. My name is Talky Tina and you better be nice to me! - YouTube.webloc
  5. While true, I know unsuccessful people that have had the exact same luck.
  6. So, did you get where you are by luck and someone else hard work? Of the successful people that I know, I don't know anyone where those factors were large components of their success. A lot of folks on here (especially on the echo chamber of CR) seem to love to use the big brush, but I think you may have graduated to the paint spryer or at least a roller.
  7. Well okay, count me as at least a partial chucklefuck in that I think we will be better. I strongly believe the level of play the last two years was largely a result of a poor culture. As much as I liked the Bo Davis rant, and it was a big clue, it wasn't going to immediately change anything. A high turnover of personnel is a good start. I'll take a team of inexperienced but enthusiastic players over unmotivated Jr's and Sr's anytime. In fairness you said "good", I think good would be 8 wins while many would say the bar is at 10 for any season.
  8. RomaVicta, once again you prove to be one of the few people on here I'd like to have a coffee with. There is no perfection where humans are involved, on either the micro or macro level. Looking for that perfection, especially at the political extremes is immature folly. Also, "DON'T FUCK WITH UKRAINE" is that a copyright infringement on "DON"T MESS WITH TEXAS"?
  9. Yeah, but if you marry that chick, well let's just say it's better to find out now.
  10. Not sure what you are basing your feelings on. Are you thinking we will get 100% of anyone we target now? Or we should throw the bank at every player we "think" will help or be a good fit? We have been killing it since the end of the season, with a massive amount of turnover and an influx of OL and QB talent. Don't panic based on one guys decision. He would have been one and done so perhaps a more measured approach is appropriate and use our resources where they will make a longer term improvement.
  11. Is it overly optimistic to hope I may have seen the last advertisement featuring this douche bag?
  12. I was down for Family Weekend , so we took in Texas-Baylor baseball on the 22nd (total ass kicking that I loved, have I ever mentioned my hatred for all things Baylor?) and the "Spring Game". Also, got to take in a staggering amount of pollen. Vertigo nailed down most of the points, but I'd like to add one more. Maalik Murphy didn't play, but was throwing the ball in warm ups a bit. He looks like an absolute freak of nature, looked like he's a full 6 inches taller that the other 2 QB's (I think they list him as 6'5" and Ewers as 6'2"). The thing that bugged me was him throwing it with so much zip the WR's weren't catching them. Looked a little Garret Gilbert esque. Of course it was only drills, but I hope he is capable of putting more touch/taking something off. I know everyone is focused on Ewers/Card, but I'm pretty excited about Murphy too.
  13. Looks like ticket availability is good all around, it's the April 22nd game against Baylor. I need 4 seats, I was looking at section 11.
  14. I haven't been to a UT baseball game in years. I think they have done a couple of remodels and last I had heard we were a 3rd base dugout team (but that was under Augie I think). I know we are short on opinions on here, but can you dig deep and give me you thoughts on the best seats. Its a rare chance to take my whole family so I'm not looking for deal, I'm looking for the best experience. It's a 6:30 first pitch on the day I can go.
  15. Yet another gift from the Patterson era.
  16. Guys, have you not noticed the value of the dollar going down everywhere? And don't be dissing the beams! They help provide the only shade to be found in the Cotton Bowl!
  17. I'm okay if he plays again, as long as he gets sacked a LOT, I enjoy that an inordinate amount. I do have a day I'm looking forward to, that will be the day there are no more ads with Mayfield or Rodgers! Although the more I think about it "at home with Mayfield" may be a T.V. series soon.
  18. That would make it kind of ironic that he had the urine charts. Hydration is great, but there is a lot more data there.
  19. I try to give benefit of the doubt to a new coach, but my first strongly negative impression of Herman was the story that he drove his UH provided car to Austin and told them to come pick it up. Low rent move. I've known a number of successful guys in life, but the ones that STAY successful have all had integrity. You can say you don't care about it, and that's your right, but a guy without integrity won't stay on top forever.
  20. I prefer better draft picks to some kind of anti-Baker Mayfield spite that nobody, including Mayfield, will give a shit about. I also don’t plan to root for Watson again based on how he signed his extension and no trade clause in bad faith to screw the franchise, then got all the uninvited handjobs. Not spite, just laugh at them. We're not watching football because of their intellectual prowess or high moral standards. Don't let it get under your skin, but don't pass up the opportunity to laugh at the failures of a douch like Mayfield (or Watson).
