When all this is behind us, years from now, I'd love to look back and fully investigate the role social media played in this whole thing, especially if tweets end up being evidence. I started my career doing fairly old-school PR, where NOTHING hit the airwaves without being approved by several folks up the totem pole. It's so crazy to me how little people consider the longevity of internet content and how quickly information is disseminated online, especially when you have upwards of thousands of followers. I worked at one of the bigger tech companies in town for a long time and wrote their first set of social media guidelines (which I'm sure have been updated since then) and 99.9% of the shit I see these morons post violates basic, BASIC tenets of social media use when users affiliate themselves with the companies they work for. I first heard of Twitter at SXSW in 2007, when someone described it to me as something you'd use to basically mass-text your friends and arrange spontaneous get-togethers or let people know where you were, using basic location services. I bet that for all their forward-thinking mindsets, the founders of Twitter never predicted the critical role it would take in affecting news dissemination and politics.

Lulz at having electricity years from now

Dumbass, I'm replying to 4th and five when she said:
"I bet under trump he wouldn’t have been let in. But close the door behind you, right?"

No, my parents came legally with hardly nothing and kicked ass. In relation to Trump, I didn't care for him until you lunatics went off the deep end.

    Hahaha

What an absolute fucking worthless human being you are.

Sounds like your legal dad should've pulled out of your legal mom and left that flawed puddle of DNA on the fucking couch cushions.

  3. As someone who regularly vapes THC, this stuff has me pretty worried. I stick to buying from 3 brands - all of whom have exemplary independent lab testing results - and only from CA licensed distributors. Still, it has made me reevaluate this as a long-term mode of consuming THC. It wouldn't surprise me to see some study 10-20 years out that concludes "yeah, this shit is really fucking bad for your lungs."

  4. You dumb millenial kids. Thinking you know so much. How about you just listen to adults for a bit?

We were listening. Here's the entire scientific community's consensus on this issue.

No not those adults. Here, listen to this guy. He draws cartoons for a living.

  5. About two years ago, I remember one of our resident Trump supporters beside himself when I said that I have no interest in interacting or maintaing friendships with Trump supporters.

It's past that now. I openly wish them nothing but pain and misery.

That's one of the student sections. It's been a fiasco this season.

Admittedly, I haven't paid much attention to the reasons behind the clusterfuck that's the student section, but why is this such a difficult thing to fix?

Don't the majority of programs seat their students in the same way?

Everyone's else seems to be fine, but we can't do it without endangering lives or leaving an entire section empty?

    what a thread.

the thread i jumped on back in like 2008 or something started with a claim that the Arctic would be ice free by the summer of 2012.  this didn't happen. in fact, while 2012 was left with something like 4,000,000 square kilometers of sea ice, it was a relatively low ice year.  it is now 2019....and we are having a year roughly the same as 2012.  consider that 4 million square kilometers is about 2.5 times the size of Alaska. so the prediction was an ice-free arctic by 2012.  7 years later we have an area 250% the size of Alaska with ice.

I remember reading claims back in 2008 that Obama wanted to take everyone's guns away. And yet between 2012 and 2017, U.S. civilians bought 135 million guns.

I therefore conclude that democrats have no intention to reduce or restrict gun ownership in the US.

    I like this game.

Interesting phraseology and argument. I was attempting to say that young people doing stupid tings is somewhat expected but destructive or self destructive acts are across the line. I didn't say I associated all three as a single act. And by all means bring back the late 60's phrase "experimenting with drugs" like it's some kind of noble research project carried out by an individual instead of the self destructive waste of time it is.

I assume you are a fellow Longhorn or you wouldn't be here, but why you would choose to jump on that phrase with both feet is a bit puzzling . I mean it's not like the way you went about it is going to change my mind, and you are not attempting to encourage drug use by kids... right?

I am all for encouraging drug use among college "kids."

What the hell did you people do in college

Season Tix holder.  Was at the game.  Crazy atmosphere.  Not as hard charging as Notre Dame, but our tickets back then were in the upper deck of the NEZ and there were lots of Likes to Fight guys wearing green in attendance. Lots of Purple and Gold in the Lower Bowl of the NEZ.  Fuck those people that sold those tickets. The National Telecast really elongates the game, every time an LSU player pulled up lame, there seemed to be a 3 minute TV timeout, lots of void to fill.  In the 2nd half, we had students filling the aisles in our section (8).   The music was hella loud and would always bleed into the next play.  Flyover was bad ass.  On the promotions, they need to start firing the prizes into the parents section, shit, we are the ones footing those bills on the other side.

I can't remember a game with that many TV timeouts.  Every time a LSU player cramped, we were subject to a 3-4 minute commercial break.  Perhaps I'm just getting spoiled with commercial free programming between DVR, Netflix, etc., but holy shit that was unbearable.

Neither of us have any clue how this team will perform from game to game. That's a big problem. It has been the case for Herman's entire tenure at Texas.

You and others are excuse making for a terrible performance against mediocre team.

This conversation is as productive as any you would find in cloak room.

The season will met out the reality. This round and round bullshit with people who won't acknowledge the reality is a waste or fucking time.

I'm not making any excuses. That's a lie. I simply said that I wasn't expecting to wake up to read that our offense isn't good enough to win the conference. It's your opinion the offense was terrible? And I'm making excuses for a terrible offense?

You're fucking hysterical and, frankly, acting like a little bitch. You're "off the ride?" Ok, bye I guess. We're you expecting an undefeated season? Most had pegged this as a 2-3 loss season. If you think that last night portends a 4-5 loss season, well that's your opinion. You may be right. If you're off the ride and think that discussing the team is a waste of time, feel free to log off. No one's forcing you to discuss this team.

You know there are two halves right?

So you're also of the position that we don't have the offense to win the conference?

Over 500 yards of total offense and what should have been 45 points against LSU.

I knew I'd see some overreactions after last night. Can't say I thought I'd wake up to see blame being placed on Ehlinger and the offense.
