  1. I remember watching VY in high school and being like, damn, that kid is going to be a star. Feeling pretty good about myself nowadays
  2. How did I survive 2-a-days in August? Black helmets, black practice jerseys, no shade. Honestly wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.
  3. Manfred is so fucking unlikeable
  4. May have already been touched on, but the part in Miles where's he sings about the daughter not wanting to let go of his hand and asking if the little carnival is "just like Disneyland" fuuuuucks me up.
  5. The main difference between boomers and millennials and gen z, is boomers spent their 20s and 30s accumulating wealth and building a nest egg. When they got older, they did everything they could to protect those assets and preserve the system. People under 40 today have no real interest in preserving the status quo. They don't own houses, they're drowning in debt, and they're living paycheck to paycheck. If people truly vote with their wallets, then the future is not bright for the GOP.
  6. You're learning about the concept of jury trials for the first time today? You've seriously never considered that juries can get it wrong? That innocent people get convicted and guilty ones walk? Stop being such a fucking idiot
  7. In ancient Rome, Musk would've been killed off before he reached the age of 10. Just look at this guy
  8. Texas sends busload of 42 migrants to Los Angeles https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2023-06-14/texas-gov-greg-abbot-says-migrants-transported-to-los-angeles-by-bus-dropped-at-union-station-wednesday
  9. I'm not sure what point you think you're making. Its like I'm standing in a flooded house in a foot of water trying to repair a broken pipe while you're waiving charts at me to explain that there are many living creatures that can live in water.
  10. Since 1750, humans have increased the abundance of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere by nearly 50 percent. https://www.climate.gov/news-features/climate-qa/are-humans-causing-or-contributing-global-warming#:~:text=A net 5 billion metric,Learn more.
  11. May not have to. As aggy showed, Big XII appears to be a more difficult conference to navigate than the SEC.
  12. We can control the amount of CO2 we pump into the air. Its both sad and maddening that the talking points have shifted from "climate change is a hoax," to "yeah, ok its real, but there's really nothing we can do about it anyway." Isn't that convenient.
  13. I've already said that I agree with pretty much everything you've said, and that the Dems should not move on from Biden. You have presented an accurate snapshot of the state of potential Dem candidates. I'm simply pointing out the idiocy and mind-numbing discourse that gets us here. I know you already know that, I just used your post as a jumping off point.
  14. I agree with a lot of what you said, and do not think the Dems need to move on to Biden "just cuz," but this reveals a lot about both the electorate and media's penchant for horse-race journalism. Harris - Hated bc. . . she's a woman from CA? She's Black? She's "elite?" Pete - Hated bc . . . he's gay? Newsom - Governor of CA? The double standard is staggering. Newsom may not be electable bc CA has issues? Does anyone look at the issues that Florida is facing when talking about DeSantis? One candidate gets judged based on policy, legislative achievements, and results, while the other is judged on . . . some vague notion of "electability?" How about someone like Nikki Haley? She gets a pass for having South Carolina in the bottom 10 of most categories? But that's not a liability compared to Newsom's stewardship of CA? Trump led an insurrection and is facing dozens of criminal charges but between that and someone who was a relatively successful mayor of a city 20 years ago, the latter is more troubling to the American Electorate? Mayor Pete gets blamed for a train derailment that any serious person will tell you he had nothing to do with, but "neutral" media outlets will "just ask questions" about whether the fact that he's getting blamed for this hurts his chances. Annnnd the narrative is set. I understand that the above are not your positions, you're just calling it how you see it, but fuck man, something needs to change with how we do things here, otherwise the only "electable" Dems on a national level are going to be white men from good schools (not too good please!), with backgrounds in law or finance, former eagle scouts, never having advocated for tax increases or progressive policies at any point in their career, and with a good-looking wife and 2.5 kids by their side.
  15. This site has a group of posters who love making fun of the gullible idiots on the right, while they feverishly post uncorroborated rumors, wild speculation, and straight up fake news bc it supports their viewpoint. Get it together people.
  16. Just bought tix to see him at The Greek in July. Was going to pass as I've got an early morning flight the following day, but this album has changed my mind.
  17. Going to be honest, it sounds like you're just regurgitating right wing talking points. Organized theft rings? High Taxes? Most of the Democratic party base supports raising taxes on the wealthy to fund various programs. But I don't know, maybe the Dems can't win a national election unless they nominate a boring centrist who ignores the progressive wing of the party. Who do you recommend that carries no baggage and has policy positions that mirror the Dems from the 90's? Amazingly, the GOP is going to nominate someone with multiple criminal indictments, but the CA governor is too extreme for most voters.
  18. If you're looking for pizza/Italian in Pasadena @Zepol87, I'd recommend Union, or their Pizza shop, U-Street Pizza
