I’ve been traveling a lot for work through the legal states on each coast, and have brought stuff back with me each time with zero issues. Typically I’ll do it in my checked bag but have also done carts/disposable vapes in my small bag with all my charging cords and headphone shit.  They don’t give a flying fuck.

Yeah, those cannabis amnesty boxes are for suckers

I don't think that would be terribly difficult to confirm or deny that it was staged and I doubt people want to lie for Will Smith.   If it were private I think deferring to the victim to press charges is fine, but once it is in the public domain, and it could not have been more public that that, they should act.  We shouldn't normalize this behavior or selectively apply the law.  But I guess I am just a idealist.  Thank you for the perspective though.  I'll kindly go fuck myself.

I get your perspective. It makes sense logically, and you are right that you could still get a conviction at trial even without Rock, but it really isnt as easy as it sounds. All defense needs is a sliver of reasonable doubt. How do your prove it wasn't staged? All that is needed to stage the act was the cooperation of Rock and Smith. Rock won't show and you cant compel Smith to testify. Even if you subpoena every member of the Smith and Rock family (which the defense attorney could arguably get excluded under relevance), how can they say with certainty that there was no plan between the two men?

"were you with Will Smith every moment for the last several months?"

    "No."

"So how can't say whether Rock and Mr. Smith ever discussed staging this act at the Oscars?"

"Well, he never said anything about it..."

"But you can't say with certainty that Mr. Rock and Mr. Smith ever spoke about the Oscars leading up to it?"

    "No, but . . . "

I also don't think its selective enforcement and, given the blanket dismissals that DAs ask for when the victim no-shows, its arguable that a prosecution in this case would be selective enforcement against Smith.

I guess the question I have is, why hasn’t Will Smith been arrested? If a cop sees you battering another person does that not remove the need for Rock’s cooperation?

First, this would have been a misdemeanor battery. Second, DAs are far less likely to pursue charges (especially misdemeanors) if the victim is uncooperative. What if Will Smith took the stand and said "it was staged. we planned the whole thing. Rock was in on it." How does the DA counter that evidence without Rock? I've only personally seen one misdemeanor case where the LA DA's office went forward all the way to trial with an uncooperative witness. A DV case where there were multiple past reports of DV and the DAs felt like they had to go after the guy because they believed she was non-cooperative due to her fear of the defendant.

"Does anyone know who employed Darwin, where Darwinism comes from?” Logan, now with Fox News’ streaming service Fox Nation, asked. “Look it up: The Rothschilds. It goes back to 10 Downing Street. The same people who employed Darwin, and his theory of evolution and so on and so on. I’m not saying that none of that is true. I’m just saying Darwin was hired by someone to come up with a theory — based on evidence, OK, fine.”

  4. I'm team ledge, but I also am going out on a limb and agreeing with @TwiceHorn. I think charges get filed against Donald. I've read the motions re: Eastman. I've read the back and forth emails from Eastman and Pence's counsel on the eve of 1/6. I think it happens. Not willing to predict a conviction, bc we can't have nice things, but I do think charges are forthcoming.

  5. Went to the 50th anniversary showing at the Cinerama Dome in LA - the theater were the movie debuted in 1963. Really badass to see the movie in front of a live audience.

They rolled out an obviously confused Mickey Rooney. The actress who played Sylvester's girlfriend was the only other cast member to make it. Oh, they also had the mannequins that were used in the final scene's stunts. Still dressed in their costumes.

Outside of maybe abortion what do you and likes of Bill Kristol.disagree on?

I get that you think you're being funny, but the fact that you think Neo-Cons like Kristol are the same as leftists and progressives reveals far more about you than the intended target. Hey, at least Kristol didn't abandon everything he stood for just because Donald Trump told him to.

I am going to make a suggestion that might make everyone feel better.  The CR posters are always negative, angry and seem like they feel unaccepted by the norms of society.  I propose we start referring to them as The Sunshine Kids.  That way it might brighten their day a little and make them feel just a little better about themselves.  And the rest of us can feel better about ourselves by making another person feel good about their day and maybe even make them feel included.

So when you see one out and about you can maybe give them a thumbs up (they don't like to be touched) and tell them "you are doing great today Sunshine Kid!" or "Hey look at that Sunshine Kid go!"

  8. Still waiting for someone to explain how we unilaterally force a peace deal upon Ukraine which contains provisions they have repeatedly said are non-starters. When the deal is signed by the US and Russia (bc Ukraine will obviously not sign it) how do we enforce it when Ukrainian soldiers and separatists continue to bomb, shoot at, and kill Russian soldiers? We going to send some troops into Ukraine to "remind" them to abide by the agreement they didn't sign?

Maybe take Cooper while Arch is having fun with the guys his age.

I see that "Dog Man: The Musical" is playing at The Paramount on Sunday. Maybe take the Mannings there to showcase the thriving arts scene in Austin?

The First Amendment guarantees freedoms concerning religion, expression, assembly, and the right to petition

Art is a form of expression as I previously stated. It’s a shame you can’t connect these dots.

I’m advocating for any form of freedom that allows different forms of communication while you call me a snowflake.

It’s ironic that you want to justify silencing these free forms of expression.

This is the 3rd time I’ll ask you as you seem to be preoccupied with your unintelligent banter. Are you going to address your unionization and free speech bullshit or continue to hide behind your bottle of massengill?

To be fair, there's really no reason to move beyond the unintelligent banter if you are incapable or unwilling to understand what it is the First amendment actually does.
