  1. It was at the point where it was not an upset, but rather the norm. During Leach's tenure he beat A&M 7 out of 10 times. And speaking of aggy, you post a lot like one.
  2. I won't pretend I know who will win UT/TT at this point. I believe I recall UT giving up 370 yards to TCU, however. That's not a lot of difference. I think I also recall UT being the beneficiary of 4 TCU turnovers. I also get a kick out of the frequent references in this thread to TT losing to ol Miss, like UT didn't lose to a mediocre at best Maryland. While I won't bore you with the reasons for their loss, there were explanations. It happens.
  3. For the record he's been arrested a total of one time, and that was for a misdemeanor. i feel like his detractors here have been a little overboard in their criticism of him tonight. He's a third teamer who had virtually no experience getting his first start on the road against what is not a bad defense. Thought he got better as the game progressed. He was 13 of 24 passing with 83 yards rushing and one passing TD and one running TD. Had one interception that was the equivalent of perhaps TTU's best punt of the night. Was sacked twice which given TT's OL injuries wasn't too bad. He's certainly not without issues, but I'm not sure how realistic the expectations of him were to find great fault with his performance tonight.
  4. Not sure what the deal was with him. Seems like there's got to be a story there of some sort. TCU, Tech, Notre Dame, and Baylor were all schools that were recruiting him (and that he showed interest in) and then backed off. He looks great on video.
  5. In the article linked above by Satchel, they refer to him as the country's number one JC player. Whether that's a widely held view or not I have no idea.
  6. Another real big one TT has a good shot at getting is Duncanville's Jahmius Ramsey. Per CBS Sports, the guard is the 33rd rated player in the country overall and sixth rated combo guard. https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/texas-tech-lands-2019-big-man/ To this point, Beard is doing a really nice job recruiting.
  7. Yep, play TCU on an ESPN Thursday night game. Per Kliff today,, Bowman's lung is 40% collapsed.
  8. You remember major disappointment, Leon Mackey? He had a partially collapsed lung and missed two games. Someone told a story of running into him after the recovery period and him saying his ribs were still bothering him. Not ideal for a QB if the situation is similar. Don Williams tweeted WebMD says a week or two for recovery I believe it was. Off week for TT is pretty timely. TCU too I suppose.
  9. Per Kliff, partially collapsed lung for Bowman. Return date uncertain, but apparently like Douglas MacArthur he shall.
  10. It's pretty easy to rag on Duffey for this one. He really didn't do all that bad for a third stringer who was playing meaningful snaps for literally the first time. TT won 24-7 or some such after he came in. Just from what I hear, Bowman's injury appears to be a collar bone. So, we could be seeing more of our friend Jett.
  11. Yeah and most of that was compiled in the wasteland that was TT football during Tuberville and Kingsbury. It's like looking at a series record against Kansas State. The before Bill Snyder record doesn't mean shit. Gundy is 11-3 against TTU. Sound familiar?
  12. Hate to destroy the illusion, but he's from Gilmer in deep East Texas. They have meth there too though.
  13. Things were much better on that front. Zach Austin did his part in trying to keep the tradition alive though.
  14. KK currently doing it with the third and fourth team running backs too.
  15. Just to be clear and not mislead, Beard was not mentioned in the initial group of 5 (which included Shaka) but rather the article said: In addition to the names listed above, some other coaches various sources mentioned as possible Kentucky candidates someday are Fred Hoiberg, Mike Hopkins, Chris Beard, Gregg Marshall and Chris Collins. And, before you ask, no, I did not consider Celtics coach Brad Stevens.
  16. Yeah, I was aware, been there on multiple occasions. Just couldn't work my little "capital city" joke into it. Knew it was such a knee slapper.
  17. According to CBS sports anyway, Beard one of the 5 coaches likely to one day replace Calipari at Kentucky. https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/evaluating-john-caliparis-future-at-kentucky-and-the-top-5-candidates-to-one-day-replace-coach-cal/
  18. As a guy who endured Harvey and sustained considerable damage, it seems people just can't wait to feel put upon and be a victim. Lighten up, it's hardly as if these guys were genuinely wishing anyone ill will.
