  1. Not to worry, perhaps my fault. Agree with your sentiment. Felton's 520 career yards likely didn't compel the suitors to come running. You gotta think though, Stringer had some options. Tech officials wouldn't comment.
  2. Yeah, the Saddletramps are a spirit organization along the lines of the Silver Spurs. Not sure how many Silver Spurs there are, but seems like Saddletramps may be a larger group. Have to do a pledgeship and that sort of thing. They're the ones who wrap the statue. If a non-member showed up to help I doubt if there would be fist fight, but it's known as their thing. Stadium isn't named for Will Rogers as way back in the day when it was built (1947), it was named for donors Clifford B. and Audrey Jones. Then in 2000, active TTU alum Ed Whitacre (now former AT&T and General Motors CEO) under the auspices of AT&T, donated 50 million dollars to supplement stadium updates. It has now officially become Jones AT&T Stadium.
  3. Rivals shows Felton as having only one other offer, that being UH. It shows Stringer on the other hand to have 18 offers including Wisconsin, Cal, Oklahoma State, Ariz, Indiana, Illinois, etc.
  4. Stringer is actually a pretty good player. Felton not so much.
  5. And we all know the behavior of a few random individuals within a university of 35000 Is proof positive of just how solid it may or may not be.
  6. New pitcher in for TT. He'll be bumping 97 mph with his fastball. Major control issues some days though.
  7. My favorite part of Lobo's diatribe is his use of the term "proper college". Sounds like something that came directly from a puritanical, old maid society matron as she reminisces about her long gone younger days.
  8. For better or worse, as of this afternoon TT now has10 commitments. Got a commitment from a Temple DB (Markel Reed) who shows offers from Ark, Baylor, Vandy, Purdue, Kansas State and Boise. Far from earth shattering but decent. As you suggest, the "have not" group you allude to largely have a decent number of offers, but not major ones. A few UH and Utah types in the group or worse. What would be a nice one for Tech still supposedly very much imminent.
  9. TT also got TE Simon Gonzalez out of Magnolia. 22 offers but best ones Ariz, Ariz St., Boise, and Virginia Tech.
  10. Tech gets a commitment from massive OL Trevor Roberson. Had 19 offers including offers from Norte Dame, USC, Ark., Nebraska , A&M, TCU, etc. According, to Rivals, Georgia as well, but who knows? He's listed at 6-11 and 345 lbs. https://247sports.com/college/texas-tech/Article/7-foot-OT-Trevor-Roberson-Commits-to-Texas-Tech-Football-119059915/
  11. Tech about to get another fairly highly recruited kid. Likely announced later today or tomorrow.
  12. Up until this year played QB at a private high school in Midland. Very athletic, but you have to wonder about the level of competition as far as playing QB is concerned. Not suggesting he's headed to Tech, but he really focused on its proximity to home in a recent interview. Who knows, could have just been lip service tho. That said, with him being a Midlander until recently, it's a lot more of a Tech town than is Odessa.
  13. What are you hearing about Permian's Peyton Powell? He's visited and shown a fair amount of interest in Tech and I noticed TCU offered him today. Seems somewhat under the radar but has some really good offers.
  14. Maverick McIvor to make visit number three to Tech this week end to meet with Kingsbury. Given KK's recruiting ability, he'll likely commit somewhere else before week's end.
  15. Tenn Tech had 8 players taken in the draft.
  16. Through the first 30 rounds of the MLB draft, Texas Tech leads the country in players drafted with 11. If only It was possible to recruit to Lubbock.
  17. You could possibly see Littrell, but hard to envision Cumbie as the new coach. Just not much support for him at this point. It will be interesting this year to see the impact, if any, new OC Kevin Johns has. After fairly lengthy stays at Northwestern and Indiana, he's the first legitimate OC type in the Kingbury era. Big 10 guy obviously, but given his history doesn't appear to be the reincarnation of Woody Hayes from an offensive standpoint.
  18. Maverick McIvor visiting TTU for visit number two Thursday.
  19. I've got to agree. I have to feel like there's a chance Tadlock might end up with egg on his face regarding the national seed. Don't think it ultimately will matter though. I don't really look for Tech to make it out of their regional to be honest.
  20. Oklahoma columnist says only KU, OU, Baylor and TCU were trying to win. https://newsok.com/article/5595788/coaches-arent-prioritizing-big-12-tournament
  21. If he had something to play for Tadlock is the world's biggest dumb ass. The pitcher he started in game one was a rare starter with an era over 8. The 2nd game starter was primarily a reliever this season. Didn't start any of his 3 main starters until game 3, not even starting his best one. Not sure what his thought process was.
  22. Can't speak for Baylor, but Tech felt a yearly presence in DFW would be of value in a variety of fashions not the least of which would be recruiting.
