  1. I don't watch a lot of hockey (playoffs only), but this is good shit.
  2. It's just part of the overall trend where college football slowly degrades into "NFL light"
  3. I hadnt really thought about it, but Belichick strolling in right as hoops is crapping its pants has caused a surprising power tussle in Chapel Hill. On one hand, it seems ridiculous that basketball at UNC wouldn't be the clear front runner for funds/resources, but on the other hand the AD just hired Bill f'n Belichick. Hubert aint the guy, and UNC has to move there as well. Strange dynamic. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/acc/2025/02/19/north-carolina-football-basketball-fight-nil-revenue/79079845007/
  4. Gotdamn, that's probably $50-$60 in austin.
  5. You cant fall down that list if you don't make the tourney. Cagey fucker is gonna retire top 15 all time, lulz.
  6. You can ignore all stories dealing with Jonathan Martin, and there is still enough evidence to classify Incognito as a complete, piece of shit meathead 5 times over.
  7. "Officer, come quickly. They stole my weed and my weed profits." That had to be an interesting call.
  8. two. two f'n cookies, lulz.
  9. seems like the call to me.
  10. What the fuck does a terrible hire look like, lulz.
  11. There's gotta be video at some point, right? How the fuck do they manage that?
  12. I'm not sure that's the case. Before a judge blocked Venu last fall. It was going to accommodate about 95% of my sports watching at half the cost. Grab an over the air antenna for NBC and CBS live sports, now I'm probably up to 99% of what I would watch. They could raise the price 50% and I'd still be coming out ahead.
  13. Yeah but they also just raised the cost of service by $10 also. The cost of YoutubeTV was $35 in 2017 and is now $82. Im sure there are dozens of completely fucking useless channels they have piled on down below the sports channels but I wouldnt know. All I give a fuck about is live sports, and yet apparently there are now 4 different Nickelodian channels I help support. Fuck that.
  14. The Texas LSU match was the first game I tried watching this year. Turned it on in the second quarter. We had 10 pts. I saw about 5 airballs and 12 missed layups between the two teams before I switched it off. It just ain't for me.
  15. Illinois botched the jersey retirement of Terrence Shannon Jr last night The bigger mystery is why they would retire that dudes jersey. Are they that proud of an elite 8 run and a spot on the 3rd team all-american list?
  16. KD made some head scratching career moves, and missed some time, but peak KD for me is easily top 10. I realize that's not how it works, but take every player at peak form, and KD easily sticks in the top 10. Pure hooper with questionable decision making skills as it relates to the business of basketball. Unrelated, but I put Jokic in the top 5 all time by the same metric, and if he stays healthy and plays another 8-10 years....
  17. This aub/bama game is getting pretty fucking good.
  18. Next up in the pipeline, a cure to get rid of aggy.
  19. I cant remember if I have seen a discussion on this site or not regarding that Supreme Court lawyer's indictment for tax fraud regarding millions of poker winnings. Story is wild, and this article from airmail.news recapping the story is fucking great. With a good screen play and the right director, you could make a fantastic movie. What a degen https://archive.is/L7FhQ His response to the lawyer suing Dan Bilzerian for throwing that chick off the roof is classic:
  20. No doubt, the three point shot and its value in today's game has fundamentally altered the sport. Its actually crazy that it didn't happen to such a large degree sooner. It took awhile to change the mindset of coaches I guess. And then Steph arrived on the scene and shit got crazy. the bump in the mid-90's correlates to when they moved the three point line in to a uniform 22 ft as opposed to the only 22 feet in the corners. How much value does Steph even have pre-1980? He's certainly a really skilled player and would play in the league, but shooting from 30 ft out at a 42% clip would probably be frowned upon when it counts the same as the shots in the paint. I was too young in the 1980 to really give a shit about basketball theory and analytics (as they were), but I wonder if they had any idea of what it would lead to. Imagine if the NFL said touchdowns from 40+ yards out count for 10 pts, or homeruns greater than 444 ft added +1 additional run to the count.
  21. lulz at Deuce Wayne
  22. Yup, I think you gotta stick Wilt on the non-LA team. By the time he got to cali, he was probably more focused on acquiring trim Non LA years: All 4 MVPs, 36/24.7/4.5 LA years: No MVPs, 17.6/19.2/4.3
  23. I'm sure he's terribly distraught at the prospect of installing more hand-picked lackeys to fill those roles. whats scott baio up to these days, anyways?
  24. Counterpoint, he took the 2014-15 Hawks to the conference finals and the second best record in the NBA with this bag of shit roster. https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/ATL/2015.html Thats about as clear cut a case for a Coach of the Year season as I can remember. He's got his issues, especially in the playoffs it seems, but I'd take him all day over Rivers.
