  1. We're dog shit. I'm sure there will be arguments why RT should be given one more year, but you fucking know we'll be firing his ass next year. So why fuck around.
  2. Renewables are going to play an ever increasing role in the utility mix moving forward. And batteries will be key to that evolution. I'm sure EOSE will gladly welcome the increased scrutiny as the zinc phosphate approach they take greatly mitigates the risk of these types of events. I don't personally own EOSE because I think their management is garbage, but a huge outcry against Li-Ion chemistry for utility scale projects would be a tremendous boost to their sales prospects.. They claim they are ready to roll with their new manufacturing process and tout their gigantic pipeline. It's up to them to turn the scrutiny of why these fires are happening into revenue.
  3. Big fire at Moss Landing energy storage facility in CA, which I believe is the largest energy storage battery installation in the world. Owned by Vistra Energy. The batteries are lithium ion ( I think LG is the supplier) and they just have to let it burn itself out. Could be a boost to EOSE when chasing RFQ's in the future. "Our batteries dont do that. Sign here"
  4. That would be amusing if he bailed on UNC before the fall season. Its probably a mistake to read too much into the fact that Belichick still hasn't signed a contract with UNC, but you know if it happens, Mack would fly right the fuck back out there and pitch himself as the savior in their moment of need.

  7. Florida basketball coaching offices must be like a P.Diddy party, wtf is going on down there? https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/43441025/todd-golden-title-ix-florida-assistant-sexual-assault

I will qualify my earlier comments by suggesting I was really talking about the football players and basketball players (probably baseball as well)....the ones that arrive in Austin with fat NIL deals with dreams of a high paying professional career. I suspect that swimmers, rowers, etc... are probably more disciplined than the average student and would do well in class. But I'm guessing the majority of our scholarship football and basketball players wouldn't sniff admission to UT if it weren't for the fact that they were badass athletes. I've heard a lot of these guys speak and they don't sound particularly well educated.

Why even require them to take classes at this point. They are professional athletes that will soon be getting paid by the athletic department to play football. I guess you could make it optional for the few that actually want to learn something. But the traditional notion of "student athletes" seems pointless these days. Let them major in football.
  10. So will his mom.
  11. Tien won it. never heard of the guy, but I dont follow the sport much anymore. he played like a m'fer in that tiebreak. Announcer said it was the 6th latest ending of a Grandslam match, so yeah, pretty late.
  12. Good 5th set tiebreaker on now between Medvedev and Tien.
  13. good lord. you dont see this every day...
  14. The moral of the story is if it's shaped like a dick, OU fans will figure out a way to go tip to tip.
  15. Its like his head was molded in an ice cube tray
  16. Yeah, I'm still mystified every time I hear people talk up Porter Moser as a good coach. This is his 21st season as a HC and his career conference winning percentage is under .500. The vast majority of those seasons were in mid major conferences where you would expect a coaching prodigy to dominate. He basically got lucky that a nun watched all his games in that final 4 run and made them a national feel good story. Other than that, his career is average at best.
  17. what a classic SEC slugfest ticklefight this is. just next-level play at both ends of the court.
  18. No shit, its like making an argument for aggy winning the national championship in football next year, and citing the works of William Liucci as your rationale.
  19. does not equal people largely have recency bias. Lets check back in on the matter in 4 years and see if Arabs are 100% on team GQP. My guess is the answer will be "fuck no"
  20. pfff....that region will continue to be a fucking shitshow for decades, and there will be countless opportunities for the arab vote to see exactly how Trump/GQP will make arabs lives miserable in the middle east. As long as we continue to march along the path towards a Christian theocracy, its more likely the arab vote will realize they have no allies here.
  21. Yeah I saw his putrid FT % a while ago when I looked up his stats. These kids are basically playing basketball full time these days, and this guy not only cant figure out how to raise his shitty FT shooting, but he actually managed to cut his percentage in half. That's a huge red flag that this dude doesn't really give a shit, and isnt willing to put in the work. I doubt having Mitchell on this years squad would make much of a difference at all. Tremendous athlete, average(at best) player.
  22. WOMP, WOMP https://www.reformaustin.org/politics/austin-real-estate-developer-nate-paul-pleads-guilty-in-federal-fraud-case/ Sounds like a pretty sweet deal for the guy. Multiple charges dropped that carried sentences of up to 30 years. Prosecutors recommending a sentence of no more than 6 months for the one count he pled guilty to. Business as usual, I guess.
  23. So fine, have Wemby and CP give jerseys to kids whose folks aren't worth 9 figures. I found it tone deaf AF on the part of the NBA, you didn't. There's not much to argue here.
