That's pretty much where we are today, unless you were speaking about both teams combined, in which case I agree: https://www.teamrankings.com/nba/stat/three-pointers-attempted-per-game
The average across all teams this year is ~37 3 pt attempts per game, and for me its unwatchable dogshit. Five years ago it was 34 per game. Ten years ago it was 22. But that 14-15 season is also the start of the Warriors reeling off 5 straight Western Conf championships with Steph and Klay bombing away. Rather than limit the shots, my preference would be to widen the court and back up the line another 3-4 feet. Guys will still take them, but the percentages will go down which will change the calculus by the analytics dorks on what's a "good shot". And the interior should be less clogged as well.
The other issue is turning on a game and realizing that half of the stars are sitting out the game. I don't know if its that everyone in the league is a giant pussy now, or if the ever increasing size of these players has reached a point where the body just cant take the beating, but dudes sitting out games is a common occurrence now. The league would never do it because the revenue would suffer, but I wouldn't mind a 50-60 game season if the players were on the court more. 82 games is ridiculous when over half the fucking teams make the playoffs now if you consider the play-in games.
