  1. Bovada has Kyle Tucker vs Ohtani and Tucker vs Devers for most regular season HRs. Both lines at -120 for all players. Who ya got? I'm thinking Ohtani over Tucker but Tucker over Devers.
  2. This team fucks, I can't wait for Thursday. Between the proven studs at the plate, stud arms in the rotation and bullpen, and promising young talent on the cusp of kicking ass (Diaz, Brown, Dirden, Hensley, Julks, Gilbert, Melton) I see another 100+win season this year and next. What a f'n juggernaut.
  3. You may be right and they are very close, but I prefer Dirden's lefty bat + power potential by a slim margin. Julks has a bit of an edge in AAA at bats and steadiness wrt OBP and K rate so Dirden might need some more looks at AAA. Regardless, they have some good OF options that I think are better than Madris. Julks 2023 Spring Training: 44 PA 11 H 3 2B 1 3B 2 HR 12 RBI 3 BB 8 K .275/.318./.550/.868 Dirden 2023 Spring Training: 40 PA 11 H 4 2B 0 3B 2 HR 4 RBI 5 BB 13 K .324/.425/.618/1.043
  4. Really hoping he makes the active roster. I think it's bullshit that his chances are so drastically affected by the 40-man implications and trade acquisition scrubs like Bligh Madris who has been DFA'd multiple times. Dirden > Madris but because we traded for Madris for cash he automatically gets a 40-man spot over a more promising player like Dirden. But that's just one asshole's opinion.....
  5. Same, and I'm honestly surprised more of us don't have the same perspective, especially the olds. Perhaps it's a matter of getting older and not being affected as much, but we endured so many damn heartbreaking losses in Houston sports that 2019 doesn't even register much on my sports heartbreak richter scale. Yeah I was pretty bummed about it but I still remember that feeling immediately after of still savoring the 2017 WS and thinking at least we had that one, not to mention all the playoff winning that led up to it. Shit, we couldn't win playoff dick during the Biggio/Bagwell era and yet by Halloween 2019 we'd won our first World Series and been to three consecutive ALCS, so that gut punch game 7 loss wasn't nearly as painful or permanent as the Oilers debacle or the 1980, 1986, and 1998 Astros teams.
  6. Yainer Diaz GRAND SLAM Stros crushing the Cards today 8-1 in the 2nd Also this This guy is our next Springer
  7. RBI double for Abreu. We're gonna love this guy in our lineup this year.
  8. This is wild to me because having lived all those and more, 2019 doesn't come close to the top of my list. Yeah it sucked to lose all four home games against an inferior wild card team but I can't agree with anything but the Buffalo debacle at the top of the list, followed by the Coogs losing in '83.
  9. Y'all keep hating on Maton because he's going to be a good one season I think. He's been excellent this spring to the tune of a 0.00 ERA and 0..462 WHIP in 4..1 IP. He's faced 15 batters and allowed 2 H, 0 BB, and 5 K.
  10. Dirden's lefty bat/power potential and defense elevates him over Leon. He's going to get his chances.
  11. Yep. That blue gold shit is TRASH and it makes me want to piss on lawns when all the kids pine for those "throwbacks." Those should be thrown away and burned forever.
  12. Dirden keeps hitting. Double down the RF line
  13. Jairo Solis is starting today in place of Hunter Brown. I'm old enough to remember when he was a highly regarded prospect who kept bogarting a spot on the 40-man forever while recovering from multiple TJ surgeries or some shit. He hasn't pitched since 2018.
  14. strongly agree with all of this those ppl are weird. they probably line up for bbq at 6 am.
