  1. Who cares even if that's the case as he will still have to accrue 172 days on the major league roster for one year of service time. His future with Houston is already very much in doubt so I don't really see how the service time clock is that much of an issue.
  2. I think you're overthinking this aspect of it, he's already on the 40-man roster? As I understand it (and I may be wrong here) It's really not about starting his "service time clock" fwtf that means as much as it is about his remaining option years/accrued service time. I don't think that has much bearing on a decision whether or not to put him on the 60-day IL. From Chandler Rome's Athletic piece earlier this month:
  3. Explain please
  4. My guess is they move Whitley to the 60-day IL but take that fwiw He's playing hurt I think and was only recently inserted back into the field to play defense
  5. probably about 235 or so
  6. Joel Kuhnel, come on down!
  7. It makes sense to me considering the innings the bullpen has thrown. They need to keep arms fresh right now. Bielak is scheduled to start on Saturday for Sugar Land but I think they plan on having him around this weekend in case one of the scheduled starters can't pitch deep into the game. Edit: scratch that, can't be Bielak yet because pitchers have to stay on the minor league roster 15 days before being recalled.
  8. So Bielak is probably coming back up with Salazar getting optioned?
  9. So we're three plus weeks from Yordan returning because he's certainly not back before the ASG. Three games @LAD Three games @ STL Four games @ Arlington Two games vs COL Three games vs SEA Can we go 9-6 over this stretch?
  10. Can't win ten in a row like the Cincinnati Reds (!!!) without winning one in a row first.
  11. Pretty fucking hilarious for Rogan and his bro army to tweetbully Hotez into a dumbass "debate" over settled science when Rogan is too much of a massive coward to even have Sam Seder come on his show to debate him on anything because he knows Seder doesn't give a fuck about getting invited back and will absolutely clean his clock on anything related to politics and policy.
  12. I don't think Dubin is the answer over Bielak. He can throw some heat but he walks too many and gets in trouble often. I think he's going to get shelled at the next level.
  13. Terrible week of Astros baseball that just happened to coincide with the Rangers worst week of the season as well. Wasted opportunities.

  15. did you get this figured out? curious what it was...
  16. also Shay Whitcomb.
  17. They will roll with the current staff and probably use Ronel Blanco as a sixth starter to manage Hunter Brown's innings. Also expect to see one of Dubin or Arrighetti get called up as well. I don't think we have the prospects to make any big trade waves.
  18. MARK IT DOWN Y'ALL
  19. Full disclosure I wasn't watching the game last night but was listening to the radio pbp while smoking some ribs and crushing a few Art Cars. My interpretation of the final play was shaped only by Ford (who thought it was interference but said it wasn't reviewable) and the clips of Meyers running down the line as the ball hits his helmet. Having watched the final inning on MLBTV replay, I understand why Martinez was so pissed and kind of agree with @TonyTexas now. I had assumed the winning run had scored from third base and forgot this was a gidp play with the winning run scoring from second on the error. Could've very easily been called interference and it wouldn't have been an incorrect call, but a better throw doesn't allow the winning run to score. I'll take it regardless. Dumb rule.
  20. Wrong, many thought we got a lucky break on that call as well. What I don't understand is how that play was reviewed but last night's wasn't. I agree with Martinez about the inconsistent application of the rule, but disagree wholeheartedly with his bitchass comments that they lost the game because of the ump's defensible judgment call that Meyers didn't interfere. He may have been running out of the lane but he's in line with first base when the throw arrives and more importantly imo, the throw did not beat him to the bag. I guess Martinez wants every catcher to just peg guys in the back as they're running to first base? .
  21. Dave Martinez is a jackass
  22. Trump's new legal team?
