  1. Have y'all talked about how the world audience almost saw that dude fall from the upper deck?
  2. damn that dude was hustling down the line
  3. Damn it pays to be a hot chick. Surprised they hooked her up but I guess she's considered an influencer?
  4. And then there's this fucking asshole. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/03/20/us/politics/george-w-bush-iraq-war.html?unlocked_article_code=t_3_XrVCXDzygvcNdb5eN5qbbz0-Gez0-vd5Q0UqjY0z1RkNwxM56ZbozxrWhgwQT2HOxfK7-kRJmXv3J6vZVaDFpjlF8VNuGGerPoYIk2M6InibH0eT-4Afkxoe1lb--TDcCt3pqMbC4JUjb3UokruS_5t8CuKarPlJtr48NsuA7_ys-MCMidm4OhXhLAKUNXeuHHkHF5XmtZSnv7wBTjq7s9bx7JtxfNar7tjbzZwoWUwYSX3yUlOh88bHRtS-mtJpBdln15f1Wv_x7OLd3MXGh7DbELxiNapWWzLRA-B2YTHvfZ8g-f88iwPLXjNd59vFCihSABZtxaIh0wCi1KYoiwYL&smid=url-share
  5. Here's hoping we see a lot more Hensley in the lineup at second base than Dubon. One thing Hensley has proved capable of is getting on base. Granted, 29 AB is a very small sample size but his .441 obp is consistent with the .420 obp he put up last year across 104 games in AAA. I'm just tryna find the silver linings to these injuries. My bet is on Hensley being a big contributor this year and breakout candidate.
  6. Still pisses me off today to recall how often I was insulted by fellow Americans because I rightly opposed the invasion of Iraq and knew then what everyone accepts as factual truth today. Iraq was never a threat and the tale of Iraqi WMD was myth-making to the benefit of Sadddam Hussein pre-9/11 and the Bush administration post-9/11. The PNAC neocons fed a bunch of cherry-picked bullshit from Scooter Libby to Judy Miller and the honcho dipshits at the NY Times let her reporting lead on pg A1 while simultaneously filing reports on pg A25 from these guys, the ones who had it right all along..... https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/knight-ridder-small-team-US-journalists-Iraq-war
  7. The only upside to Altuve's injury is the opening it creates for Dirden to crack the active roster. I assume they will put Atuve on the 60-day IL which frees up a 40-man spot for Dirden.
  8. I tried to read it all but lost interest quickly.
  9. I think there is a better chance than not that Whitley's MLB arc is similar.
  10. Man he sucked. Terrible draft pick and one they would not have made later in the Trackman era. They just didn't have the info on him that they learned as the technology and application of data advanced in the years after that draft.
  11. Bryce Harper had thumb surgery to repair a broken thumb and missed two months last year. Deep breaths, man. Altuve isn't missing half the season.
  12. Agreed, Yordan will be ready opening day and Dana Brown seems unconcerned about his status, no reason to throw out wildly pessimistic scenarios where he misses 62 games. Wtf.
  13. "We know it doesn't take him long to get ready," Houston Astros general manager Dana Brown said in regards to Alvarez on March 8. "He's a fierce competitor in the batter's box. It's just a matter of him being completely healthy. Hopefully we're through the storm once he starts back swinging. I think he's had the ample rest he needs." Meanwhile, outfielder Michael Brantley is not expected to be ready until early April -- with the outfielder likely to miss Opening Day, although he'll be back at No. 2 in the lineup in the very near future. "It's going to be really close, to be there Opening Day or shortly thereafter, a week after, tops," Brown said on March 8. "We don't know where that is. I'm hoping no later than April 10 with him."
  14. I don't think they want to go that route but will probably use who they have on the 40 man roster. A mix of Hensley and Dubon most likely.
