  1. Heyman has deleted the tweet, said he jumped the gun and Giants haven't heard the final word from Arson.
  2. I'd much rather have Abreu than Bell and think Bell was overhyped at the deadline as a potential trade target for the Astros. Abreu is the superior player and a great clubhouse fit.
  3. The Texans are so obviously tanking for the first pick in the draft that only Cal McNair could fuck it up and clean house with some FCA dweeb in a nice suit who decides Bryce Young isn't sufficiently jesus-lovin to wear the colors of the mighty Houston Texans. What a tire fire of a season.
  4. Maybe but LA seems like a pretty great place to live if you're rich. Right, HG?
  5. Shit, throw that money at Chris Bassitt if JV declines. I think he'd be a good fit in the Astros rotation.
  6. Eh whatever, point being he got a fuckton of money to pitch for the Astros and didn't pitch for two years. He can get what the market will pay him but as an Astros fan first and a fan of JV second, what exactly motivates a guy who already has a 9-figure net worth: money, championships, or a run at 300 wins? By any objective standard the Houston Astros offer the best opportunity for those latter two motivations, and the money they are likely offering is probably north of 30mm/yr. JV is a hoss and I'd love to have him run it back with us, but not at that ridiculous price and imo he can fuck right off if it all just comes down to money.
  7. He still owes the team for the 66 million he got for pitching one time in two years.
  8. have they released any photos of the shooter or updated his condition? I am not a violent person but I am really hoping that hero bashed his face in pretty pretty good and we get to see the fruits of his heroism.
  9. Two weeks ago today the Houston Astros became 2022 World Series champions.
  10. not a bad shout, Taysom is overdue to go off again.
  11. If holding your shirt so your teammates won't rip it off of you is prima facie evidence that you're doing something nefarious, then likewise Bellinger's fall off the cliff since his MVP season is proof positive that the LA Dodgers were cheating their asses off from 2017-2019.
  12. That's half the fun of fantasy football though
  13. Yeah I generally feel the same BUT......no Jeudy or Hamler this week means likely double-digit targets for Sutton so his floor is solid this week against a broken Raiders defense and rookie corner Sam Webb. Sutton's only TD this year was against the Raiders defense and that was with Jeudy on the field. He has a very good matchup and this might be the last time he is startable in my lineup. I have to wait and see about AJ Brown's practice status today but there's an argument to be made for starting Sutton over Brown.
  14. Fuck me for not starting Watson tonight. Fuck! I had him in my WR3 spot but replaced him with Toney when the news broke today that Hardman was going on IR. Probably should have just rolled with both Watson and Toney, but that would mean benching two of Lamb, Sutton, and AJ Brown. Lamb is an obvious must start though.
  15. Kmet is a good play this weekend vs ATL, as is Dulcich vs LV.
  16. Higbee if he's available but ya know......
  17. In a 12tm ppr with no flex and 3 WRs.... had $63 remaining faab ($150 season budget) and pushed every cent into getting Christian Watson and I won the bid. Picked up Toney for free minutes after that Chiefs deal was announced so between those two I'm feeling pretty damn good about my chances of hitting on one as a potential league winner. My WRs are Lamb, AJ Brown, Sutton, Toney and Watson. Which three do I start this week? Tua/Dak Pierce/Mitchell/Mostert/Dillon/Benjamin Kelce NE D 5-5 with two hard luck losses (born less than 1.5 pts) but I like my chances if I can make the playoffs after starting 1-5....
  18. I mean, if you're gonna write an entire piece around the narrative of a billionaire asshole owner who wants to help run the ship, the obvious comparison isn't Jerry Jones. It's Robert Kraft.
  19. Passan is such a bitch. He needs to get punched in the face and I imagine Crane wants to be the one to do it. That article is the definition of a hit piece sourced from a bitter ex. "palace intrigue" "general manager under siege" "preening about with institutional arrogance" "tottering in the aftermath of a scandal" "new GM one of the highest ranking remaining officials from the sullied 2017 team" What a hyperbolic piece of shit you are, Jeff Passan.
  20. No he's out until spring training. Had surgery iirc.
