  1. Bumping this thread just to give another rec for this limited edition print. https://www.mlbshop.com/houston-astros/houston-astros-2022-world-series-champions-24-x-36-limited-edition-minimalist-fine-art-print/t-36779752+p-7257568652040+z-9-1119291328?_ref=p-DLP:m-GRID:i-r18c1:po-55 Mine arrived yesterday and when I opened it I was blown away by the print quality and color. It's fucking beautiful y'all. If you have an Astros fan in your family or circle of friends, a framed version of this would make for an excellent and memorable holiday gift. Would buy again 10/10.
  2. So Andrew Ball is gonna be the next GM, huh? Interesting that he didn't get canned with Powers
  3. Kinda surprised Mike Fast's name isn't being mentioned as a top candidate considering the success the Braves have had since he left Houston in 2018 for the Braves front office. He is currently their VP of Player Development.
  4. That lawsuit he filed makes it pretty much impossible that he will ever work with Jim Crane again.
  5. Curious to see if those Click hires Scott Powers, Andrew Ball, and Sara Goodrum stick around and if any of them are in line for the GM gig or if Crane is looking outside the organization. Too bad Putila found another GM gig.....
  6. I'm super fuckin pumped to see what Gilbert and Melton do next year in the minors. Not to mention all the underrated/unknown international talent the organization has cultivated through the Cuban/Latin American pipeline.
  7. Y'all still walkin on air around the house and workplace like I am?
  8. Someone needs to do a Wild Kingdom version
  9. Maybe not. I feel like last year's bullpen performed well overall and the additions of Graveman, Yimi, and Maton were key to their run to the World Series and the fact that this year's bullpen performed even better is arguably a testament to Click's ability to put together a key component of every championship contender. The x-factor this year was the incredible overall health of the pitching staff and the front office/coaching staff did a tremendous job managing the overall innings pitched across all arms and that has to be a feather in Click's cap imo as the general manager.
  10. Chandler Rome right now with that open gig at The Athletic on his mind
  11. Two of Click's 2021 draft picks are turning heads in the AFL
  12. Building a historically GREAT bullpen without giving away proven players and then winning a World Series title deserves a little more respect than just being a GM placeholder who didn't fuck it up. He grabbed all yall's favorite whippin boy Aggy off the scrap heap and turned him into a valuable reliever out of the bullpen (and then let him walk in FA), traded for Yimi and Graveman (also letting them walk) and got a throwaway in Montero who became a huge contributor in this WS championship season. Not to mention letting Correa walk and believing he would be adequately replaced by Pena.
  13. SI sent Apstein out to write another hit piece on Jim Crane. Reprehensible lack of journalistic integrity, she probably wrote the foreword for Evan Drellich's dumb book nobody will read.
  14. No news yet about Verlander, which I interpret to mean Crane is working hard behind the scenes to get a deal done with him before he hits free agency
  15. Astros declined to pick up Will Smith's option as well and he is a free agent.
  16. He is a much better upgrade over Mancini. Go look at their baseball savant MLB percentile rankings and it's pretty clear Walker is a better player.
  17. I'm curious to see if the Astros go after Christian Walker, he'd be a great fit I think with his power hitting ability, and his spray chart would play well at MM. Gold glove defense at first base. Get it done, Click! ETA: Also in his first year of arb eligibility this year so he's under team control through 2024 and the Dbacks were rumored to be open to trading him prior to the trade deadline.
  18. I really hoped it wouldn't happen and am relieved at the news. I also think it would reflect poorly on the organization at a time when everyone should still be partying and smiling.
  19. 11 is an interesting number to me right now, and not just for the obvious reason that it took the 2022 Astros and 2017 Astros 11 wins to get the WS trophy. That number also represents the incredible dynastic run of the organization over the last six seasons. There have been 236 MLB playoff games from 2017-2022 and the total number of baseball games played where we Astros fans have been sadfaced like Helo watching other teams play for the title? 11. That is absolutely bonkers and it is yet another numerical reminder how all of us diehard Astros fans will never take this sustained greatness and joyful success for granted.
  20. It really should have been 11-0 but for LMJ tipping the shit out of those waitresses
