  1. They generally do. I'm not sure what's missing in this show. Mostly good characters, acting and dialogue. The only knock I can come up with is they don't do enough SCIENCE fiction and aren't brave enough with the plots. SNW hasn't had a Dyson Sphere or multiverse episode. And no #therearefourlights Or am I just a old Boomer who will never let go of TNG? It would be a fair assessment.
  2. He's getting Oscar talk. Good for him.
  3. And I gotta say I am impressed this thread has not gone CR.
  4. I own a condo in Nepal but I dunno why. Never have the time to visit.
  5. I have 2 siblings, early Millennials, who work in education. One in HS ed and one in college. They both say the youngs' dumbassery bottomed out 5-8 years ago. Plenty of kids today have their acts together, example being college graduation. Many of them take college classes in HS and put themselves on track to graduate college in less than 4 years. Big contrast with the 90's gen that was on the 5 year plan.
  6. Action movies.
  7. Young people have always been idiots. Look at who raised them.
  8. It's a cool exposition I guess, but that isn't anything close to a regulation deadlift.
  9. Episode 9 stunk This whole season is a disappointment.
  10. Just wait until the TikTok influencers find that place.
  11. My be old news to most, but I heard the term, "K curve" for the first time today, when describing our economy. If you're wealthy enough to have money invested in the market, an older, low rate mortgage, etc, you're in great shape. Your salary is barely keeping up with inflation but so what. Stonks to the moon. But if you DON'T have money saved, it's more about trying to find cash to put down on a house and make a mortgage cash flow, all while paying high rent and car payments.
  12. Did the fighting and filming style of Jason Bourne change the action movie genre. John Wick sure did. The SW prequels changed the sci-fi genre by making green screen ubiquitous. And not in a good way.
  13. Would doing so have a direct impact on their ability to wage war? I 100% totally get the desire to inflict pain on the Russian people. Make so they can't boil their cabbage rations and such. But if those missiles can be used more directly, they should. That said, saving them up 2 extra months, for bigger volley's on refineries and such does make sense.
  14. They've shown tremendous restraint in not wasting resources on purly symbolic attacks. Rather, they find bold, strategic, military targets and let the audacity of the attack be thr symbolism. In the case of the new Flamingo, I suggest building up a good stock of them then hitting a volley of targets that were otherwise too distant to target. Let a whole buncha refineries, drone factories, etc way out in the hinterland all blow up at the same time.
  15. First you make a roux...
  16. (Spinoff from another thread) Jaws: the summer blockbuster Animal House: crude comedy 2001 Space Odyssey: science fiction for wide appeal What you got?
  17. Any name-brand whey protein mixed into a glass of milk gets you there.
  18. Start tripping them. Old men need to fight dirty.
  19. Not her fault, but that voice I do not like.
  20. https://www.wsj.com/world/putin-wagers-ukraines-army-will-break-before-his-economy-does-d3ab22fb?mod=hp_lead_pos4 Not sure what all to quote here. Putin is betting his countrymen can eat more shit, longer, than Ukraine can. Any significant Russian economic collapse is at least 18 months out.
  21. Good. The World needs more BearSchlong, not less.
  22. Rewatching now. Of all the incompetence on this ship, and there's a lot of it, the scientist lady is the most. A sammich and Stanley of water while your tossing a dead rat into a cage. Even on Temu Space X Starship, that's bad.
