Didn't mean to express such a controversial take. Ukraine and Russia are but large ag exporters. Difference here is Russia is much more dependent on ag exports, as everything else is restricted or outright banned. Ukraine has a more diverse economy, on top of outright weapons and cash aid. A drought hurts Russia more. And good.
Somewhat rhetorical. But Russia is historically a wheat exporter. This year they're gonna hafta decide between exporting a lot of wheat for foreign $$$, or keeping domestic food (bread) prices low. History suggests there's a >0% chance they'll export more than they "should" and let their people suffer.
And fortunately global wheat prices are not bonkers. Good production elsewhere. So maybe we'll get the best of both worlds. Acceptable food prices elsewhere, and Fuck Russia.
So of us believe Russia will need to be starved into quitting. Good news on that front:
