On the idea of background checks for all transfers- gun stores charge for private party transfers. So there is a cost there for private transfers that oftentimes dissuades its use. I’d love for NICS to be accessible to the general public for private sales. There is never specific gun information on the check - so all this talk about having to have a registry isn’t true as far as I can tell. You want to buy my gun? Give me your ID and I’ll run the check. 30 seconds later - transaction should be done. I’m all for background checks on private sales and I think we can do that without specific gun information. There is only a record that “Bill” passed a background check for a rifle/pistol on X date. No seller info needed.
Most likely enter the classroom like they did multiple times in the video. They didn’t know where the shooter was at first. They kept clearing rooms. They did a fantastic job. They did get lucky - but they didn’t shit their pants like the uvalde cops did.
None of that would happen. Yes I understand the lobbyists and all of that. But if we can’t even have civil conversations at this level nothing will change. Why don’t we try it?
*”Might be” would indicate the possibility for something to occur in the future. The “meanness” has already occurred. Past tense is your friend here. “His gun” cracked me up by the way. Like there is only one.
Not really. We can’t have conversations that don’t spiral into name calling and bullshit rhetoric. Look above and see who started it. It wasn’t me. So why do I now want to have a conversation with the other side about things that may make sense? I don’t. Want to ridicule my profession and hobbies? Well, fuck right off. Take a gander at the thread. Let me know.
*Who am I…… Happy to help with your grammar whenever you need it. And as you make fun of me for “working in a retail shop”…….I do that part time because I fucking love it. I also work at a gun range for free because I fucking love it. So while you sit here shitting your pants over someone open carrying I’ll rejoice in knowing I might have sold that gun that’s making you soil yourself. I’ve said on here many times that I am for some common sense reforms - but it is people like you that keep it from happening. If you need any more grammar help from the gunslinger, let me know. It’s embarrassing for you I’m sure- but I’m willing to help. I think I’ll go open carry now because I’m “weak and terrified”.
Lots of hot takes in here. People scared of guns getting fired up, gun lovers talking about freedom, stats flying around. If anyone wants so sell their guns because their wife is scared and she wears the pants I’m a buyer.
My comment was directed to the ridiculousness of guns being easier to get than cigarettes. Anybody can sell anything privately under the table- and laws exist to counter that. You’d be amazed at the vigilance of the atf working on that shit. I am for changes there too. As for waiting periods recently introduced for those under 21 - fuck yes in favor.
You have obviously missed many of my posts regarding selling guns. You operate on what you suspect is true because you want it to be true. It’s one of the main problems in regards to some common sense reforms that we probably would agree on.
I know. My nephew went to get a pack of cigs last week and he had to fill out a 4474 and he is on a two week wait. He should be able to pick them up the second week of April.
