  1. Train or bus, I'll pick you up and take you to the car. Need a little heads up. Train is probably a little more convenient, except above poster is correct about possible Amtrak delays.
  2. So was I the only one to get the Little Black Sambo book for Christmas? I'm 60 and agree with Pops above, we just didn't know any better.
  3. Tells people we will meet them around 5pm. Doesn't know how far away meeting spot is or what time we will leave. It's 175-200 miles, depending on routing. And of course departure time is wholly dependent on when she will be ready.

  5. I have one of these, bought it off Amazon several years ago. I rarely use the offset anymore. Grill steaks at 600 degrees or smoke a brisket at 225. I haven't been able to get the full smoke flavor I get from the offset, but it's close and I don't have to baby-sit it like I do the offset. If cost isn't a factor, get a ceramic like someone said above.

    Old programs

So Steamboat's post in another thread [steamboat] It will never be hotter than the regional game in 1983 against Mississippi State at noon on the Sunday when we had to beat them twice. Steve Labay threw one of the greatest shutouts in the history of Texas Baseball. Pretty sure some of change ups that day were of the "Eeefus" persuasion. They could not touch him. One of the most incredible performances I have ever seen. Oh and we went on to win the CWS as well.[steamboat] Got me to thinking. First thing that came to my mind was that I hadn't thought of Steve "I don't wanna play" Labay in years. Second thought was I might have that program. Couldn't find that one but I did find these.
  8. I'm not sure any of you actually exist. Seriously, might be nice to put faces with screen names. Might be awkward as hell too.
  9. Birds, how do they work? "Ooh, look at the redbirds. I saw some blue ones the other day. Are the red ones the male birds?"
  10. Ritchie Rd here. Folks built this house in 1970. Hewitt before that, 1963. I think Hewitt was around 300 people then. Seen a few small changes.
  11. Yamaha Super Tenere and a motarded KTM 450 EXC
  12. I use the Delorme on my motorcycle. Had it for a couple of years. Gf likes being able to "see" me and know I'm safe, and at my age I don't go anywhere that i give a shit about hiding from her. I bought it for longer trips but use it on day trips too. No issues, but I haven't needed the sos feature. Two way communication was the deciding factor between it and the spot device. I suspect Spot lost ground when these came out and had to upgrade to remain relevant. Would buy again, but haven't looked at the new Spot device in detail.
  13. 19 years gone. More if you count the dementia years. I'd give anything to tell him he was right more than I realized at the time.
  14. El Dorado Seaside Suites. Between Playa and Tulum. Only downside was it's an hour from the airport, but they picked us up in brand new Lincoln Navigators as part of the package. Best service and food we've had at an AI. We're not shaggy surly 1% and don't travel that much so take that into account. It was also during the time hurricane Harvey was hitting Texas and only about 1/2 full, so the staff was hustling for tips(I assume).
