  1. Does Twitter want specific performance? Is that even an available remedy? Isn't there a billion dollar liquidated damages clause?
  2. I voted in the Republican primary this year. First time I've done that since before 2015.
  3. You know, I can't think of anything more American than schoolchildren being slaughtered in their own classroom. It's right up there with apple pie and poor test scores in reading, math, and science.
  4. Should be mandatory in schools.
  5. I expect the Texas Legislature to pass a bill adding bullet proof vests to the list of school supplies.
  6. Don't forget that guy who shot up a movie theater during a Batman movie.
  7. Bookman replied to Lurch's topic in Gambling
I think in hell you flop a set every hand, but lose on the river when your opponent hits his inside straight.
  8. In theory he could declare martial law.
  9. It's not impossible. All you have to do is presume it had some meaning.
  10. I'm saying the framer's expectations, even if their collective intent could be ascertained, is irrelevant. All they did was draft the document. If you're going to look beyond the text to find meaning in the words used -- e.g., perhaps you think it's ambiguous -- then what matters is the intent of the states that ratified it.
  11. The states ratified the Constitution, not the founders. And the "intent" should be found by looking at the words that were used.
  12. I obviously read what you quoted, which has to do with the text of the second amendment and is correctly arguing that the first part should be given meaning. This is true under any theory of textual interpretation. What do the founder's expectations have to do with that?
  13. Kind of makes it difficult to escape. Maybe we can set up a tunnel system like they have at the banks. You push a button and you're transported to someplace safe, like Canada.
  14. Let's build moats around every school.
  15. On this Memorial Day, let's take a moment to remember those who involuntarily gave their lives for American gun culture. Then take a moment to reflect on the Americans who allowed it to happen.
  16. What does that have to do with anything?
  17. Scalia accepted that but then he gave it no meaning at all: https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/07pdf/07-290.pdf
  18. But the commas are placed so they don't have to give any meaning at all to the first part.
  19. That's only for abortion. When it comes to guns, they are textualists.
  20. Has Abbott called a special session to make guns easier to buy yet?
  21. Trump is hilarious. I laugh at him all the time.
  22. So I've been trying to get an actual understanding of the Higgs Boson, symmetry breaking, and all that. This shit is hard. I think I need to take some math classes.
  23. Son of a bitch is probably going to strike oil or find gold or something.
