  1. They have the votes no matter what and if they can keep their old man mugs off of TV questioning her it's a fucking win. Process doesn't matter anymore, just appearance. All they have to worry about is Cruz looking like a bigger dickhead and anyone who is up in 2020.
  2. So they are saying that Ford and Kav will be interviewed by the independent attorney first, in public, then get their chance to grill her. Or is this independent attorney will be the only questioning?
  3. "Breaking now: GOP is offering to move the hearing to Wednesday and have an independent (read: probably a woman since every GOP senator on the committee is a man) lawyer question each of them, and they will not have them both in the same room. Looks like she's gonna talk, or at least is far more likely to talk now." Keeps the bad optics out of play from R Senators going after Ford. This is a great move by the R's if they can get her to agree to it.
  4. Lulz. This shit always cracks me up. Living in Oklahoma, which I consider very similar in the white christian demo, I always have to tell people who get excited about the women's vote around here to chill there shit out. I mostly am around independent, professional, non church going women in my "liberal" bubble, and they all think how great the next election is going to be because the women will step up this time and oust the asshole who doesn't support their issues. You forget that there is still a whooooooole lot of stay at home mom's, rich old white lady's, and ignorant racists that live amongst us. Just because the professional woman see how hard it can be for women in the male dominated society, a lot of women see the way things are a having a pretty good gig. Personal trainers, tea rooms, and Target don't staying busy in the middle of the afternoon because of college educated working women. The female vote is far from a monolith and it drives me crazy when commentators talk about the female vote like there aren't several very opposed factions.
  5. They sent me to a psychiatrist because of some bad thoughts during my relapse. I have since learned to never be totally honest with a psychologist, they have to report that stuff and send you to the pill people. The shrink had me take all sorts of quizzes even though I'd told the lady I had been drinking that morning. Came back that I was depressed (no shit), anxious (very), had trouble sleeping (yup), and then said I was bi polar. I told the lady that her clever quiz was correct, I was bi polar. I'm a decent, caring human who feels empathy and normal emotions when I'm sober, and I am an emotional crazy mood swinging motherfucker when I've got the right amount of vodka in me, especially in the morning. I told her I needed help getting out of my head and something for the anxiety/sleep so I could not die while I was hitting my bottom. She loaded me up with a bunch of stuff that made me not care about anything and actually made the situation worse, because anti-depressants + booze is fucking looney toons. Whole point of the story is I know there are a lot of folks with bi-polar disorder and it must be a living hell, I can't imagine feeling like that and not being sure where it comes from. My eyes were awaken that day that even though I told the "professional" I was an alky who'd been drinking that morning, there must be a high rate bad diagnosis. This is not an anti psychologist/psych story, my psychologist helped me greatly with some PTSD and family issues. It is just a warning to any of those reading this that you might want to take a serious diagnosis with a grain of salt if you think you might have a drinking problem or drink a lot. Alcohol, especially long term abuse can change your brain chemistry so that it appears and sometimes manifests itself into something completely different. Be sober for a while before taking what a Dr says as gospel. That's actually what normal people do when they're down and depressed. They don't drink to make shit "better". Anyways, the bi-polar thing got me thinking and how grateful I am to be sober today. I hope anyone out there struggling today can know that there is hope and a different life if you try something different. Much love, happy days.
  6. Or if he doesn't stroke out today. I can only imagine him pacing and ranting around the WH like the lunatic he is while his pissant children are trying to call him for help and he's not answering the phone. They are all scared shitless knowing the gig is one step closer to being up and no one can bail any of their asses out of this. The ultimate horrible day in Trump world. I have zero sympathy for any of them.
  7. He can't help himself. Just like the shit he pulled during McCain's remembrance/funeral. All he has to do is spend/make taxpayer money at the gold course for the weekend and he vomits all over himself. It lends credibility every day to the crazy stuff in Woodward's book.
  8. That's some brilliant fake news to propagate right there. "Libruls seeking to raise money for released terrorist?" Just ask the question on Fox and it will be truth in less than a news cycle. America makes me sad if I actually think about what we've become. Election Day and our destiny, good or 'fuck it', can't get here soon enough.
  9. Gazprom subsidiary.
  10. That clown has lived a pretty charmed life. Tacky, annoying, and Aggy, but damn charmed. It's amazing what being from Texas and in the good graces of the GOP machine can do for an idiot.
  11. Can't argue with the piece. Both share responsibility, both deserve to GTFO. After a well timed two week reprieve from having to watch the team I love, I watched Sunday. I was telling my friend during that match that nothing in this world is more frustrating than to have your club be a fucking chore to watch. So much talent (as shown by that Alexis assist to Lukaku) and such a shit product. There is no extended excitement, no fast attacks down the wings, no beautiful switching of play, and no real feel for what we are trying to do. Jose just expects the talent on offense to find a way to score. It's all a labored effort to get up the pitch. Thank God Burnley didn't give a shit about showing up because United would have been smoked by any decent team with half a heart. Hated to see Rashford go in with his head. I don't understand why guys don't just shove the fucker and get a yellow. Now they all lean in with the head, and thanks to Joey fucking Barton's punk ass, its a justified automatic red. If you are going in with your head, actually hit the fucker on the bridge of the nose and make it hurt. The misery continues. 3 points. Hard as hell to watch.
  12. Why not both! It's true and untrue all at the same time. Post truth world we live in now, its all feeling. It just matters that he's sticking it to the other guy.
  13. It's actually kind of brilliant in a sick way. "We're not going to give lazy public employees raises until wages come up in the private sector! I'm with the real hard American workers!" Then do absolutely nothing to raise wages, but get all the Trumpeter to say, "He's one of us! Fuck the gubment!"
  14. Not saying your cousin is one of us, don't know the guy at all. You will however get sound advice here from folks who know crazy, have seen crazy, and probably listen to crazy at least a couple of times a week. It's funny how I used to be the center of the crazy or felt a need to be surrounded by it, but now am the guy my normal friends come to when they need help with crazy. They must see the miracle of change better than I do because I know I still need to go to meetings weekly or I'll be the one they're talking about. Damn I'm grateful for another day sober.
  15. I was thinking more, "when masturbation's lost it's fun, you're a fuckin alky". Wait what? Yeah, I had to get rid of an issue like that. Mind you, I drank hard because I was too big of a mess/pussy to leave on my own and forced her hand, but we seem to attract crazy in all sorts of forms when we are in the shit.
  16. I've been lucky enough to be on vacation without the ability to watch any matches. I picked the right time to be out of touch with the world. Fuck Mo, I can't wait to watch his press conferences. I can only assume they've been very helpful for player moral and team building.
  17. I've gone by what all 4 of my Dr friends showed me when they got there placements, plus a friend who recruits for a large hospital system. The ortho and the urologist each started out at 500k in Oklahoma and now pull in 1 million plus 7 years out of school. The anesthesiologist started at 400k and the one GP started in OKC at 300k, but has built a million dollar practice. The GP basically gets to pick and choose his patients, doesn't accept shitty insurance because there is such a demand for family Dr's in the Oklahoma City area. In 7 or so years he's at a place where he doesn't take new patients unless they are friends. It may be hard to recruit to some areas, the medicare/medicaid rates don't compensate what they should, as well as shitty insurance, but these guys have all been good business people. The recruiter never brings any GP into the system for less than 300k and that includes part of rural OK. Without going cloak on this, the system sucks and some Dr's get screwed, but this is a business. I don't feel bad for the money issue when this is your chosen profession. I'd love to go to law school and fight the good fight, but it doesn't the pay the student loans. You have to earn your place defending insurance companies, other shit corporate types, or have an established family practice to make a living starting out. There is also no guarantee that you will. Every Dr. I've known in America feels entitled that they're going to be very wealthy and that the system owes them. I've never met one that is willing to change the system or go against what possible future earnings are they believe are coming to them. Good on the ones that do, but I'd love for them to step up and be heard.
  18. Who gives a fuck honestly. Dr's are one of the few professions that never have to worry about paying back student loans. You walk out of school making a minimum of 250k, and thats if you're a shitty GP in Oklahoma. I'll get excited when teachers, social workers, and other integral parts of society that don't get paid shit go to school tuition free.
  19. Just brought tears man. Thank you for that. I spent the week in S.A. with my daughter who flew over from Spain with my ex wife. The first couple of years after the divorce were hard to be present because of the obvious distance, but my drinking went to 11, and I was drowning the pain of separation. Thanks to technology and the program, we have the best possible relationship we can. It's a miracle. Most people don't understand the connection that comes from being truly present and that we have can have such a bond even being so far away. The ability to be grateful for the moments I do get and truly making each moment count is pure joy and love. We are damn lucky. Prayers for your boy. Hope is a beautiful thing.
  20. Except he knows that can't happen because his cabinet if full of ass kissing equally corrupt cronies. All of his schtick is tired and disingenuous.
  21. Sucks for KDB, he's class. While tremendously talented, I'm waiting for Mahrez to start acting like the whiny cunt he is. It's only a matter of time until he gets his feelings hurt and acts out. Pep don't play with that shit. He is incredible at keeping his young stars heads in check, but Mahrez will be a test for him.
  22. I see the future anytime from Trumpkins when Brennan speaks out. "He's the only former CIA director to have his clearance revoked!" "He has no authority to speak and proven to be un-American!" "No credibility! Sad!" These fuckers do anything to believe that Cheetolini, and only Cheetolini, speaks the truth.
  23. He's a great man manager and that is fine for short term, but that is not what United need right now. United are desperate for a guy who will come with a long term strategy. United and Barca are the only really big clubs that thrive off of home grown player development with big name additions. It's their identity. The turnover we're going through has to stop. Neville spoke about in the podcast I posted and he's spot on. If we go the way of Madrid or City, turning over teams every 4 or so years, we're fucked. Sure we can buy some titles, but that isn't who United are nor is accepted by the supporters. It's now or never to right the ship and only someone young like Pochettino or an unknown British guy are the way forward. There will be pain going forward with a rebuild, but better take the pain now for the sake of the club than be another Sheik/Rooskie/Chinese outfit. We're fucking United.
  24. Didn't see another San Antonio thread. Taking my 9 yr old daughter on an extended weekend this week. Last minute trip and something different as I have never been to SA either. Only plan I have so far is Alamo/Riverwalk Schlitterbahn on Monday Looking for food, Tex Mex obvi, but she's an adventurous eater and will try anything. It doesn't have to be kid oriented, but I'm not taking her to high end steak house. Is there a farmers market worth checking out? Best tamales or local specialty? Anything that will be a memorable/unique experience for a little girl? Bi-lingual family, her first language is Spanish if that helps get her somewhere cool. We are both blonde haired blue eyed aryans, but mama is the Latina. She's dying to go to Mexico, but I'm not taking her to Laredo.
  25. CSB Have a friend who lives in a village outside of Genoa and takes that bridge to work daily. Spoke to him about 45 minutes ago as he was heading home on the old mountain highway. Normally he's a jovial little Italian fucker with a high pitched voice. Dude sounded like Ben Stein. Never heard someone in shock like that before. That bridge is very busy and it's absence will fuck up a lot in the city.
