  1. do you ever not give a gun to your kids?
  2. Its got a .7" longer slide and .5" longer grip if I remember correctly (compared to regular 365) Same width. It conceals very well due to how slim it is. Great summer gun. As I mentioned earlier, it comes pre-milled with an optic cut and comes with all metal 3 dot night sights than can be used to cowitness through the optic. Also - I thought the flat trigger was kind of gimmicky, but after shooting the gun I'm pleasantly surprised. There is a little mush leading up to the break, but it breaks right around 90 degrees and is only around 4lbs. I like it better than the G43 factory trigger.
  3. Snagged a P365XL and waiting on the Holosun 507k optic for it. Love the ergos of this thing compared to the G43, plus the factory 12/15 round mags in something around the same size as the G43.
  4. Electronic or dial? Have you checked with the manufacturer? I know some of the electronic ones have really shitty keypads that they can sometimes help with. I've heard of them shipping out new ones that you replace on your own if its the ones you can disconnect from the front of the door.
  5. Depends on what you're measuring. An AR10 with a match / free floated barrel w/ good ammo, tight tolerances on the upper and lower receiver, etc (see: well built) would absolutely keep up with a SCAR in the accuracy category. It would also be around half the price, which would leave enough money leftover for a nice optic. As far as field reliability, gas piston, adjustable gas, etc - that's a different story. If you just want an accurate 308 battle rifle, an AR10 is a good choice. If you want a completely modernized weapon system built around the 308 - the SCAR would be the best option.
  6. Never been there. But if they got that antibody rona test I'm considering getting it done. Been researching this test and apparently it was developed in China - and it doesn't have FDA approval (only EUA approval) Its the finger poke blood test.
  7. ^ Totals Mens Clinic is Austin is doing tests right now - 49 bucks w/ insurance or 199 w/o
  8. I've owned two desert eagles - one 50AE and one 44mag. They are awesome guns to take to the range, or even to hunt with if you're into that kind of thing but they are not really practical for anything else. Mags arent cheap, and every caliber other than 357 is expensive as shit to feed them. They do run really well though, and recoil is not as bad as most people would think (because they're beefy as shit.) If you look around you can find them for 1k plus or minus a hundred bucks for a basic model. I like the older ones more than the new ones personally and I've always opted for brushed stainless models instead of parkerized/blued/cerakoted ones.
  9. Anyone local have a compact 380, 9mm or 45 handgun for sale? I've got some stuff to trade. I'm looking for a G42/43, P365 or 365XL, or a compact 1911, etc. PM me.
  10. Been a lot better the past week. I updated the thread. Yesterday was my first time out of my house to do anything since March 10th.
  11. I went to Cabelas the other day while there was no line and there is still plenty of ammo for your deer rifles and shotguns, etc. I picked up some HSM 45-70 "Bear Loads" 430gr hard cast bullet doing 1800 fps / 3100lbs of energy for my shorty 1895GS
  12. Just got the call on an AR i forgot I panic bought a month ago. I already have a bunch of ARs in various calibers but I had a spot in my safe and it seemed like people were about to go crazy. Thankfully I already panic bought enough ammo during the past and present administrations mass shootings to last me a life time.
  13. I was taking mucinex after day 10 (the day i went for a followup / lung check) I took it for probably 7 or 8 days straight with the ABs and after the ABs. After I finished the ABs, I was still experiencing shortness of breath and restricted breathing and would take a 4hr mucinex at night (which is when it was worse) Another thing - whenever it was bad, my "resting" heart rate would be 30bpm above normal (72 normal / 102-110 when I would feel it) which led me to believe it may have just been stress/anxiety making the breathing issue worse. I could be laying on the couch in the AC watching TV and my heart rate would be way up. I finally said fuck it and popped a 10mg valium and my heart rate went back to normal within a few minutes (21st day) It seemed like whenever I felt the worst, my heart rate was way up. Blood pressure was always normal, just a way faster HR. When I was walking around the neighborhood and feeling lightheaded and my breathing was restricted, my pulse was 120+bpm. Ever since I started feeling better, my HR hasn't gone above 80 and when walking its around 90.
  14. I know you and I keep going back and forth in this thread but I had the same issue. 15 days after I first got sick I still had tightness in my upper lungs, and would get winded just walking around the house or talking to people on conference calls. It took - no fucking lie - 21 days before that finally went away completely. I never had a cough. When I had the 2nd doc visit to have my lungs checked - he said it was more bronchitis than pneumonia and that restricted breathing can come from both. I took that zpak for 5 days and I still had upper respiratory tightness 5 days after finishing the ABs. It was 21 straight days of on and off illness before I felt 100%. Hang in there buddy. The first day I felt 100% I had a strong ass margarita, a couple beers and a few bourbons and it was the best I'd felt in almost a month. I think a lot of my symptoms had to do with not smoking cigars, no cope, and cutting out my daily routine of drinking my sorrows away.
  15. Another update - so you know I'm not dead Day 21 (March 31st) was the first day in 3 weeks that I had no symptoms at all. No weird lightheadedness, no fatigue, no chest congestion, resting heart rate was back in the mid to low 70s. Couple of things - the zpak I got after the 10th day really fucked up my stomach/gut again and I had random runs for a week after I finished it. It was crazy how this shit seemed to come and go - worn down, tired, and tightness in my chest. I would be out of breath just going on walks down the street. I've been completely symptom free now for 3 days and started working in the yard again. I'm able to eat big meals and drink heavy without feeling like shit. My youngest that had all the same symptoms as I did has been perfect for more than 2 weeks. Oddly enough - she did have this weird eczema rash around her eyes that turned into pinkeye (and it's apparently another tell-tale sign/symptom of covid19) We were prescribed antibiotic eye drops that knocked it out in 3 days. Other than that - everyone in the house is healthy and good. We've been getting curbside/delivery once per week, house is stocked, 500 dollars on liquor secured, 250 dollars worth of beer in the fridge, guns are cleaned and powder is dry. Life is fucking grand. For now.
  16. Pretty sure GMR said he went to ARC and they tested him for flu and covid19 on the spot.
  17. My symptoms seem to come and go over the course of 14 days. I'm on 16th day since feeling sick and I still have sporadic stomach growling, and the runs occasionally. (but I did just finish a course of ABs) If I still have the squirts after day 20 - I'm calling the doc again. Otherwise I feel completely normal now. No chest tightness coming and going, no tiredness, no aches or anything. Was outside taking care of the lawn today and felt great to sweat and get some sun.
  18. Figured I'd update everyone since I was posting a lot in this thread and seeing similar symptoms reported. March 10th - 13th - woke up with a sore throat and felt like shit that Tuesday morning (tired, groggy, nose starting to feel stuffy) Stayed home with my 2 year old who also woke up saying her throat hurt. Checked my temp religiously from that Tuesday until Friday with no fever although I had cold sweats, stuffy nose, clammy skin, etc. The minute I woke up I started hitting the zinc lozenges every 4 hours, a long with a bunch of dayquil. I slept all day Tuesday with the little one and another 12 hours Wednesday. Went to the doc Wednesday morning to get flu and strep swabbed - both negative. Had a Doc gave me a script of prednisone, benzonatate cough pills, and some flonase (lol) Didn't use any of it because I wanted to see my symptoms happen in real time. Continued to feel shitty until Friday night. Still no cough, or fever at all. Sat morning I had a completely random watery diarrhea and my stomach was making weird growling noises. Appetite was waning and even though I was up and functioning with essentially a head cold - I felt like hammered horseshit. March 14 - 16th - Aside from stuffy nose and general tiredness I was feeling a lot better. Quit taking Dayquil and continued to take a zinc lozenge a few times a day. March 17th-20th - Still feeling run down and sleeping a lot, losing appetite and diarrhea randomly appearing. Finally started feeling tightness in my chest that Friday even though most of the symptoms were completely gone. The tightness was not a stabbing sensation or pain at all - I was just losing my breath while being on conference calls pacing around the house. Called up the doc and asked for an after hours appt to have my lungs checked. They checked and said no pneumonia, just airway inflammation. Gave me a script of Albuterol and a script of Zithromax just because it had been 10 days and sinus/URI might be setting in. Started Zithro that Friday night. March 20-23 - Feeling way better the past few days. Its weird because it feels like I'm still recovering from being sick and its been almost 14 fucking days. My daughter is fully recovered and my wife and other daughter have been mostly separate from us for 10+ days (thank god for the mother in law suite in the new home) Still never developed fever or cough. I quit drinking and nicotine save for the occasional dip so I'm probably detoxing from that shit too. I'm going to finish the ABs and then check in the with the doc on whether I should start taking prednisone. One thing I figured I'd mention - the doc said they've seen a wave of flu-negative folks in the the last 2 months and believe an adenovirus or other virus to be the culprit. It can cause flu-like symptoms and cold symptoms and can leave you with a lingering cough (I dont ever really get coughs when I get sick) Either way - it feels good to be on the up even though I can't say I fully feel 100% even after 14 straight days. one more thing - I had a litany of symptoms from cold/flu like but never once ran a fever or developed a cough. Everything else was happening almost at random over the last 14 days. Tired, groggy, sinus congestion, runny nose, post nasal drip, ears feeling full, loss of appetite, diarrhea, clammy skin, cold sweats, and eventually shortness of breath.
  19. Been seeing a lot of these same symptoms posted. Same thing I got last Tuesday and as of today the tightness in my chest has gone away. I started taking Mucinex yesterday and that seemed to help alot.
  20. has it cleared up? how long ago? I think it's pretty fair to assume this virus was all over the world by january/february of this year. it broke out in late oct/nov in china, and had the entire month of december to travel around the world on airplanes. I've been watching it since the end of December and stocking up on shit I knew would go first (canned food, lots of meat frozen, liquor and ammo) Thankfully my wife buys our paper products on Amazon and we've got a hundred rolls of toilet paper here lol
  21. Your symptoms seem more flulike (no sore throat / no runny nose) It's odd though. I could've had the flu as well but not swabbed positive. I just think it's bizarre how many people I know mentioned basically getting the flu (tired, achy, fever, etc) and rushing to the doc to get tamiflu but then swabbing negative.
  22. textbook of what I and a few coworkers (and our toddlers) all just got over. I was checking myself for fever the first three days because i was getting cold sweats but i never went above 98.7 its been a full 7 days since i woke up with a slight sore throat and sinus congestion. i progressively got the same symptoms you did except for fever and no cough. feeling better by the day but definitely not 100%
  23. I've been hearing this same story from so many people. Multiple friends reporting flu like symptoms from mid January to mid February but tested negative for flu. All of them mention fatigue, sinus congestion and chest congestion. Its kind of weird because they all say that it dragged on for weeks - 2-3 weeks in some cases. I've heard this same thing from 10 people I know closely (work, family, and friends) All of them tested negative for flu.
  24. Its pretty crazy. People who have lived full lives seemingly don't give a fuck about continuing to do so. My mom and dad are not super old (mid late 60s) but they both seem to be going about their daily lives (shopping, eating out, etc) My mom told me she was going to hit a couple stores tomorrow early to get meats, and any essentials (my mom doesn't eat meat) I'm just like - you have a walkin pantry with 30+ days of meals, a full fridge in the kitchen and a 2nd fridge in the garage loaded with frozen foods, meat, snacks, beer and wine. What the fuck mom? Its as though they're tempted by fate.
  25. Amazing. Those were the exact symptoms my 2 year old and I had last Tuesday (I didn't run a fever). Its been close to a week and I'm mostly better but still have a little sinus and chest congestion. Getting the runs randomly for 1 day in the midst of it was kinda weird and then it just clear up the following day. Daughter had the same issue about 12 hours behind me lol.
